Lovely receptionist lady

When making our plans for a Christmas in Philadelphia, we were intrigued by the description and photos of the master suite at the Trade Winds B&B.  We were not disappointed.  The former living room of this colonial era house made a perfect spot to enjoy the holiday.  The room is large and features a sofa in front of a delightful gas fireplace.  The location is within walking distance of the historic area and the city center.    The breakfast at this B&B is self-serve in your room.  Marjorie, the owner, provides cereal, yoghurt, juice, milk, bagels, bread, and jams, but you have to fix it yourself.  The room is equipped with a refrigerator, freezer, microwave oven, toaster, and coffee maker.  There are two grocery stores within a block for additional provisions.

Perfect Spot for Christmas in Philly

This is a unique, delightful place in the heart of downtown Philadelphia! Charming and cozy, decorated with impressive antique furnishings and artistic flair. Loved the vintage atmosphere! Room was clean, spacious with very confortable bed. The neighbourhood is nice and safe. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. Everything is in walking distance. Marjorie is very nice, wellcoming and made me feel at home! She's very well informed about the city and gave me very useful information. I would definitely stay again! Highly recommended!

Amazing Cozy Place

If you are Victorian enthusiast, as I am, you will like this B&B located in the Historic District and convenient to everything...The step down into the Victorian living room-bedroom is a nostalgic experience complete with private bathroom and modern wall kitchen. Marjorie, the owner, has put a lot of effort to make this salon-bedroom a special retreat, but remember it is vintage and you really will love the decor. Then to dash around town, You  call on your cell phone the taxi service 215-666-6666, they ask where you are located, where are you going and call back in less than five minutes to say the car is in front of the door and it is. Great service.

Old World Charm

This is not your typical Bed & Breakfast, this is like visiting someone's home.  Charming and comfortable.  Clean and well appointed room and shared bath.  Excellent location and value.  We left having made a new friend in Miss Marjorie.

One night in Philadelphia

Weekend visit to Philly to do touristy things. Found this place within walking distance of the historical center. Amazing price!  Very comfortable room with lots of character. Breakfast was self-serve in the room - a fridge with OJ, milk, yogurt. Breakfast table with cereal, tea, coffee, hot chocolate. Shared bathroom. Had dinner at a German Brauhause place about 5 minutes walk. 

We parked at a garage about one block away and it cost $38 for the weekend. Hard to find street parking, this this probably the best option if driving here.

You should absolutely stay here.

Great location and comfortable with character!

We have stayed here several times now. Margie is a wonderful host. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and convenient with every amenity you could imagine. If there is something you need, Margie will go out of her way to provide it. This is a cozy, family-friendly, bed and breakfast, but if you are looking to "get away" you can do that too. No one will bother you and you can be as anonymous or engaged as you like. Simply the best bed and breakfast in Philadelphia and surrounding area. However, if you are driving you will probably need to pay for parking at some point. The hostess went out of her way to help us secure lodgings at a high occupancy time in Philadelphia.

warm, welcoming affordable accomodations Convenient and comfortable.

This was a great introduction to the bed and breakfast option, and I am so happy that I chose Tradewinds.  Th location is close to downtown and public transportation and the price was fair.  My room (queen) was delightful and the owner had  taken the time to stock breakfast and toiletry items.

Lovely Experience

The boyfriend and I went for a little weekend getaway. We stayed in the “suite” on the ground floor as I do not share bathrooms and it was lovely. Very antique-y very shabby chic. Room was huge and very very comfortable. Fridge was stocked with lots of cold water, milk and I think it was orange juice. Also stocked with yogurts, cereal, peanut butter crackers to munch on as you walk all over the city. Place is centrally located and Marjorie was wonderful hostess with lots of literature and knowledge as to what to do and where to go. 
She does have 3 small gods but we’re dog people so truly don’t mind dogs barking as I kind of wanted to play with them it’s people that bother me. 
In the end, I highly recommend this place for price and location. Thank you again Marjorie!!!

Weekend getaway.

Small quiet bed and breakfast. Our room was shared bath, but clean. Has small refrigerator with stare, juice, milk, and cereal. AC was portable, but ceiling fan was enough. Despite being on street corner it was quiet. Owner is very helpful. 20 minutes walk to many important place, and more affordable than bigger hotels.
