Our special home away from home. The casual elegance of this stately home is an extraordinary example of Theophilus Chandler's architecture. Our gracious and lovely hosts, Yolanta and Roman have maintained its Victorian authenticity in room furnishings, we always stay in the huge and comfy"four poster" bedroom, bright and airy. We so enjoy all the carved wood features of the built in cabinetry, handrails of the staircase as well as each individual personality of all the different fireplaces.  Extraordinarily private,quiet, a world away from the hustle and bustle of the usual city scapes. As a bonus, the Silverstone is within walking distance of the glorious gardens of the Morris Arboretum. We will always treasure our experience here as we were married in this home 33 years ago.Blessed it became a B n B  so we could continue to "visit".

Extraordinarily authentic

We felt safe, warm, and comfortable staying at Silverstone.  Our bedroom and bath were all tastefully decorated and cozy.  Our breakfast prepared by Rom was delicious.  I especially like the fruit bowl that greeted us each morning and the pancakes and coffee.  We truly hope we get another opportunity to stay at Silverstone in the near future.   *Rom - thank you for telling us the history of this very fine mansion.  We will remember you and your stories always.  Best of luck.

Treasured Visit

Our overnight stay at Silverstone was wonderful.  Yolanta and Rom were incredibly gracious hosts. The house is beautiful inside and out.  Very convenient walking distance to Germantown Ave and Wissahickon park.  Rom made us breakfast the next morning, he is a great story teller.

Overnight Stay

My family needed to stay in Philadelphia for an extended business stay. The Silverstone Bed and Breakfast hosted us with great generosity!  It is a beautiful house with a beautiful yard! We ate our meals outdoors and took walks every day! We could comfortably work and do remote school from the house. Both adults and children were served breakfast they loved daily. I highly recommend the Silverstone Bed and Breakfast!

Wonderful for a long term stay!

I was looking for a last minute getaway from center city Philly to enjoy nature.  Morris Arboretum, Wissahickon trail and Fort Washington State Park are all minutes away. Downtown Chestnut Hill is a few blocks away. The owners are very warm and gracious hosts who are being very responsible in following guidelines during the current covid-19 pandemic. They served a wonderful frittata for breakfast with ingredients from their garden. The dining room is large, with ample distance between the guests, but we all interacted in lively conversation. Sitting on the front porch was relaxing- a great spot about 30 min. from downtown Philly.

great place for an easy getaway

This charming B and B is very close to where our daughter lives - so was extremely convenient.  Yolanta and Roman were so welcoming as was their son Peter.  My wife and her sister stayed for about 5 nights and loved it so much that my wife cancelled our airbnb reservation so that we could stay there during the second part of our time in PA with our son and his wife.  It was truly a family vacation spread over about three weeks.  Roman and Yolanta prepared a delicious breakfast each morning which we enjoyed in their gracious dining room.  This place is really very special in so many ways.  We would love to make this our "home away from home" and hope that there will always be availability when we travel to Philly.

Simply Wonderful

It was very convenient staying there during our course at the #IAHP it’s right across the street, staff was very friendly and breakfast was fresh and good. Very homey feel! Room was very comfortable and a big bathroom.

IAHP Course

We loved our stay here while visiting family over the holiday. The house is quite gracious and very clean. We slept well in the happy quietness of our lovely room. Yolanda was a wonderful host, our needs were always accommodated. Everything is a bit shabby chic, which we liked. Nothing stuffy or fancy here, but many interesting things. We will definitely recommend.

Thanksgiving stay

This Bed & Breakfast is located in an absolutely charming, cozy mansion built in the 1800's but updated for nice bathrooms and free wi-fi.  We stayed there for 12 days and had two adjoining rooms that shared a bathroom.  I traveled in from San Diego and met friends who traveled in from Italy with their 6-year-old son.  Their son has special needs and was attending medical treatment at the IAHP.  Since this B&B is located across the street from this Institute, the B&B was an ideal location. Since we hadn't rented a car, the location was also perfect for getting into Chestnut Hill for shopping and restaurants, just about a 15-minute walk.  The B&B is also located within an 8-minute walk to the trains that bring you right into the center of Philadelphia for sightseeing.  The area around the B&B is extremely safe and beautiful.

The owners of the B&B (Yolanta, Rom and their son Peter) were absolutely wonderful.  They gave us privacy yet were available if we needed anything.  The breakfasts were outstanding-- omelets, pancakes, french toast, scrambled eggs--anything we wanted.  The eggs came from a neighbor so were better than eggs you get in the store and their vegetables came fresh from their own garden.

What was really nice was that we had full use of a small secondary kitchen.  Since my friends' son had to eat special foods blended into baby food, the kitchen worked out great for us.  Certainly, we wouldn't have been able to prepare our own foods if we were staying in a hotel.  

Since we were staying there for almost two weeks, we also had laundry facilities available which worked out great.

I can't say enough great things about the B&B and the hosts!  We would definitely go back!!

This place is AWESOME!!

Enjoyed a stay here last month. It was fantastic, great hosts. Beautiful interior, be sure to inquire about the wonderful history of the inn.The location of it in a historic district adds to the appeal. Looking forward to the next visit.
