This hotel is on the campus of Grand Canyon University, and their school colors are purple, black, and white.  Their mascot name is "Antelopes," commonly shortened to "Lopes."  If you are put off by the color purple, please don't stay here.  Personally, I love purple and was delighted with so much of it, even to the violet-colored mini fridge in the room.  It was great to have the convenience of a fridge and microwave.  The room was very clean.  The beds were terrific and we had a very good night's sleep.  Our room was as close to the street as you could get, and we heard no sirens or other loud noises, as mentioned by another reviewer, except when the dump truck emptied the dumpster next to our room, which was after 9 AM.  Everyone we encountered was cheerful, friendly, and very accommodating, from early check-in to returning our luggage cart when they saw me headed with it towards the return area.  The pool area is gorgeous, with plenty of shade coverings beside the pool, two waterfalls, and an ample size spa.  There are two fire pits in the pool area as well.  Wish we'd had more time here, but alas, we booked only one night.  We had a small issue with our TV when we checked in, and they were there to successfully fix it within minutes.  Same thing when we needed more coffee and cups.  We offered to come to the desk to get them, and they offered to bring them to us instead, and they came right away.  The grounds are beautiful.  The pool towels (purple, of course) were ample size, not like the postage-stamp size they have at some hotels for pool towels.  We didn't eat in the restaurant, so I can't comment on the food.  I loved being on campus with all the energy of the students.  It was also really nice to know that the entire campus is fenced, and in order to enter, we had to pass through a security gate.  So that made us feel very safe.  We will definitely stay here again.

Super Friendly and Safe

I flew into Phoenix and stayed 1 night at this hotel. Everyone was pleasant and helpful, including the guard at the parking booth. I had breakfast in the dining area. Price, good and service was great. 

Clean & Safe

We stayed one night at Grand Canyon University Hotel and would certainly stay here again.  Very nice place to stay and low cost for a room.  Having the adjoining cafe and bar was a very nice perk also.  The pool area is absolutely beautiful!!  We would definately stay here again!!

Great Hotel!!

The GCU Hotel is our hotel of choice anytime we are visiting our daughter in Phoenix.  The rooms are decorated well and always comfortable.  Canyon 49, the grill downstairs, is always great and the pool area is beautiful!  I always make our travel reservations well in advance to make sure we have a room at the GCU Hotel.  

We stay whenever possible

If you want a very reasonably priced hotel, set in secure grounds then this is one to visit. We went for the Junior Suite, which was only a few $ more than the basic room. Plenty of room in the bedroom area, but bathroom a little cramped. But how long do you spend in the bathroom, realistically?
On site restaurant and bar very reasonably priced for any meal of the day, and happy hour daily makes a great place to relax. Bed was a little hard for me, but the other half found it comfortable. Couple next door having a loud argument at 2:30am wasn’t the best, but not the hotels fault.
Would stay again if the need arises in the future.

Great hotel experience out of the city centre.

The facility was very good and the employees were delightful.  We went there to watch the University of Arizona play GCU in softball.  We stumbled on this hotel which is part of the GCU Hotel/Motel Management program.  Most of the people we dealt with were GCU students.  Each was helpful, happy and eager to please.  We would go out of our way to stay there again.

Was staying here for the WWE Royal Rumble, all the way from Scotland. When checking in, the two ladies on reception were a delight. Even helping me out with a usb plug as I had packed the wrong travel adaptor. 

Any staff I had interactions with were helpful, room was clean and the bottle of water on arrival was a nice touch after a 13 hour journey. 

If ever visiting Phoenix again, I would 100% book this hotel

Perfect 

I’ve never tried this place before.  It’s run by the College hospitality students and they do a very good job.  It’s located on the grounds of GCU along 27th St between Bethany Home and Camelback Roads.  There’s a small sign on the street for the hotel.  You will have to go through a security gate, have your parking pass ready.  They have a restaurant & store.  WiFi worked well.  There’s a pool & laundry facilities, if you want soap, you get it at the front desk.  The machines are credit card driven.  I used them a couple of times & they worked well.  This place tends to book up fast, so plan ahead.  

Spring Training 

I stayed at this hotel for a quick trip to Phoenix. As an alumni, I wanted to support my school by staying at the hotel. The room was clean and the beds are comfortable. The hotel has a restaurant, coffee shop, bar and school store. The hotel is very closed to GCU campus. The rates are affordable and there is a security gate checking your parking tag. I really liked the security aspect of the hotel. Will stay again.

Clean and comfortable

The staff is very friendly and the food and drinks are great! The atmosphere is friendly and fun. I was there for a residency class and enjoyed meeting people from all over. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The maid staff was efficient and friendly. The pool and hot tub are fantastic. Overall a great place to stay.
