This place is full of mold.  given the age of the building/materials I wouldn’t risk your lungs breathing the air in this place! Wall  paper peeling with black spots trim has green spots. I don’t know how albe to keep in operation.

Nothing special (save indoor pool).  Good value. Close to National Pipestone Monument and park.  Not many exceptional restaurants in area,  Small picturesque downtown.  Has  theater where lovely 'old time radio' play performed.

Employees friendly, helpful.  Needs updating, remodeling badly.  Make sure to use a third party for reservations.  Cost $20 first night. Second night I made reservation online.  I had to stay for bad weather.  

poor but good enough for short stay

We stayed here for 1 night towards the end of a long road trip around the US.  Wenstayed in sone reasonably expensive and some reasonably cheap hotels.... by and large yu get what you pay for.  This is an exception.... you dont get anywhere near that.

Arriving late in the evening we had to buzz an intercom to gain entry and (after an eternity) a slovenly guy shuffled out to let us in and check us in. Painfully slowly and unwelcoming.  Choosing the room key the guy seemed uncertain...  then after wandering along the dilapedated corridor he knocked on the door before opening it to let us in.  A sceptic would suggest they are letting their mates or customers use rooms on an unofficial basis for some reason and they arent sure which rooms have been "sub let".

Room was as dingy as the corridor.  Layer of dust that had been there months on the door key mechanism - curtain hanging off - air con sounded like a WW1 biplane manouvering to land - sheets more grey than white - just cruddy.

You may think I overexagerate - and enjoy writing an awfull review out of fun or as apower trip - but i have reviewed hundreds and hundreds of hotels and this really was one of the worst.

Good points ? Wifi was ok....  cant remember if breakfast was included or not but we couldnt wait to leave and theres a McDonalds next door for a breakfast as we certainly wouldnt have risked one at this place.

Cruddy. Even for the relativey cheap price its cruddy.

Cruddy.  You get what you pay for at budget hotels....  in this case you get less.

I stayed here for a week on business. It's under new owners. The guy at the front desk was very nice and dealt with the small key card issue I had a few times, the bed and room was clean and comfortable. I asked for a microwave and he brought one right away. Housekeeping kept the room very clean! It's a good place to take a snooze.

Not ok with me! Even the food lady wasn't wearing one. I wouldn't recommend this place. People are traveling from all over and just because YOU don't know anyone with Covid doesn't mean anything. It spreads through the air and facemasks, social distancing and hand hygiene are currently our only defense. The hotel is mediocre otherwise.  It was quiet. Breakfast was sub par. Put on some masks! 


No Face Mask Worn by Staff

This is an old style motel building but it has been maintained.  The staff was friendly and helpful and the price was right. Our room was clean and cared for and there were a number of restaurants within walking distance. We would stay there again.

I stayed there many years ago and it was't good . I was very hesitant to stay there again. I had heard there were new owners and things had improved. When I walked in the door I immediately could tell things had improved. It was clean and reasonably priced. Sam was friendly and professional.

Bed was uncomfortable, floor had stains, picture quality on TV reminded me of having rabbit ears and holding them just right. WIFI was slow. Motel was very dated. The strong smell of air freshener was unbearable.. Sleeping in my pickup would have been better!!!

POOR!!!

Drive to another town for room if this is your only alternative. Could not pull faucet out to turn on shower, plug in for hair dryer was smashed so hair dryer wouldn't work, large footprint stain in carpet by bathroom (looked like cement), the plug in air fresheners in every outlet down the hall and in some rooms was overwhelming, key cards didn't work (got locked out of my room twice), breakfast was minimal. When I told housekeeping and front desk about the issues I experienced, they said the would pass on to owner. If another alternative would have been available, I would have packed and moved, but there were 3 weddings in Pipestone that weekend.
