Grreat place to relax..Inhouse or on the property..
A great setting for Location..Incredible Affordable Prices.
The Management and Staff are also kind ,helpful as when needed..
Overall great place for pets also for a miner fee but was niice that we could bring our fur bear also..
We will definitely return in a few months.

Blown away..

If I could give this review zero stars, I would. The Airbnb is beyond disgusting and the host is extremely incompetent. First of all, the description describes the Airbnb as a “suite” and a “cabin”. When my husband and I arrived, it was the crappiest motel we had ever seen. We thought we were at the wrong location, but unfortunately we arrived.

When we walked into the room, we couldn’t even close the front door because it was not fitted properly. We also noticed that the privacy glass was scratched and people could clearly see into our room. There was writing all over the walls of different peoples’ phone numbers. The bathroom did not even have any hand soap for us to use and the shower was horrendously disgusting. The floor and shower knob were covered in scum and looked like they had never been cleaned before. The toilet barely flushed unless you held the handle down for a solid 30 seconds and the bathroom window had a giant hole in it. The air conditioner was held into the window with spray foam and looked like it was about to fall apart.

We left after 15 minutes and drove back home. I contacted Alex and informed him of the inaccurate description and how disgusted we were and he refused to give me a refund even though we did not even stay one night. Never rent from this host. He is extremely rude and disrespectful.

DO NOT STAY HERE - HORRIBLE ROOM AND EVEN WORSE HOST

Stayed here one evening after a performance at Tanglewood.  Overall, it’s an okay place to get some sleep after a performance during Berkshire arts season.  I wouldn’t want to stay here any longer than a day or two though.  Also, this place can go for $100/night during some summer weekends.  You’ll feel cheated if you pay more than $65/night.

This motel is on Route 20 and not Route 7.  Route 7 is the main north-south drag through the Berkshires.  Being on Route 20 makes this motel a little more off the beaten path, but just a little, which I like.  The part of Pittsfield where the motel is located is still fairly residential and not too isolated.  It’s not an area where alien abductions occur.  Route 20 is still a main road and will take you into Downtown Pittsfield IIRC.

Note that if you are going to Tanglewood, it’s about 10 miles through backroads that travel next to swamps and through the mountains without streetlights or many houses or anything.  I find it pleasant during daylight hours but anxiety provoking after dark.  If this would scare you, look for accommodations in Lee.

No problems with check-in.  The owners are pleasant but not too pleasant, which I like.  I actually hate it when motel owners act fake-friendly or offer me bad breakfasts.

Upon entering the room, there was a bad smell.  Although the establishment is nonsmoking - as am I - it was like a mix of mold and tobacco pipe smoke.  Everything was visibly clean except the bed.  The bedsheets had crumbs or something in them.

The rooms photograph better than they look.  Wood laminate walls and cheap motel furnishings.  Pictures crooked inside their frames.  A layer of dust on a phone from the 1960s.  Cheap artificial flowers and cheap lamps.  Cigarette burns in the cheap blanket and sheets.

In terms of safety, I requested that the motel give me a room with locking windows and doors.  All of the windows locked...except the one the air conditioner was in.  That window wasn’t really securable and the motel did a piss-poor job of installing the A/C.  They used the cardboard from something like cereal boxes to seal the open parts of the window next to the A/C unit.  There wasn’t enough space to crawl into the room through the window without pulling out the A/C, although that would be doable for a strong person.  People in the surrounding rooms are very close and it’s doubtful something will happen, but this was my main issue with the room.  Also, I stayed on a mid-summer day.  The A/C was sufficient after dark but wasn’t able to keep up with the heat after sunrise.

The bed was comfortable.  The bathroom was pretty clean.  The plastic shower stall was very small and would not be good for someone who is claustrophobic.  The water from the showerhead was very aerated, but I’ve seen worse water pressure.

It’s a motel, so no safe or blowdryer.  Bring a power strip because there are few outlets and they are mostly in inaccessible places.  There was a small fridge with a small working freezer section, a coffeemaker, and TV.  WiFi was nonexistent and my cellular service was weak.

From the bathroom window looking towards the back of the motel, there was a mattress thrown down a hill that was possibly the bank of a creek.

I’ve seen worse and would stay here again...at the right price and if better accommodations were unavailable.



This one is cheaper price in the area during the summer tanglewood season, good size room, small bathroom, have refrigerator, micro wave. Coffee maker,  WiFi is very poor.  I have used my data all the time in the room.


Good price quiet location

This was the best hotel and night of our trip.  Clean, comfortable and quiet, and at a reasonable price.  Prior reviews were either wrong or perhaps with different management.  Very clean and comfortable, and shower was excellent!  Only drawback was that wifi in annex was essentially non-existent.  Cannot speak to main building.  Would stay there again without hesitation.

Best hotel of our trip.

Having read some negative reviews we were sceptical of the motel. However, we were pleasantly surprised with how comfortable and clean the rooms were. I guess the motel owner has worked hard to improve the conditions having received feedback from patrons. Even though there was no ceiling light, there were quite a few lamps so that the room was quite brightly listed up at night. The shower works well as well as microwave and fridge. Compare to other motels of the same rate, the rooms are good.

Unexpectedly clean and comfortable motel

This is basically a 1950's style Motor Inn type of place.

Pros: this hotel is not expensive for the area, is clean and conveniently located. The owners are cooperative and they keep beautiful, immaculate and healthy gardens. The window air conditioner worked adequately and we were comfortable on a very hot day.

Cons: There is not enough shelf space, especially in the bathroom where there is only one narrow shelf above the lavatory. Nowhere to spread out your toiletries, dental hygiene equipment, etc. Very big inconvenience.

The proprietor does not automatically provide a coffee maker, nor is there coffee available in the office (there is no lobby). However, he did bring a Mr. Coffee device to the room, along with one filter and barely enough coffee for one carafe -- I'm sure he would have brought more filters and coffee had I asked. I suggest that travelers request the device when signing up.

WiFi in the outbuilding (where we were relegated because we have a little dog, which is fair) is quite flaky.

We would consider staying here again, but with reservations -- the main problem is the lack of shelf space in the bathroom.

Pros and Cons

I suppose if you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay and aren't going to spend too much time in it, then this place is passable. The room we stayed in was OK for sleeping although the AC did not work the first night. To the staff's credit, someone did come into the room when we were out to fix it. But it ran noisily all night. It's a window AC and there's an old broken one still stuck in the wall under it. The bathroom appears to have had a renovation recently. The tub and shower seem relatively new; lots of hot water. But the sink and toilet are for very short people. I'm 5"8" and had to bend really low to use the sink. (I don't understand why motels and hotels aren't putting in comfort height toilets when they renovate. And how about some shelves on the bathroom wall to put our toiletries?) I can't recommend the place, but, as I said, if you're not going to be there for most of your stay in the area and want something cheaper than most other places, then feel free to consider it.
