The airconditioning wasn’t working. They promised a discount for that and we never get it. 
The swimming pool was disgusting and dirty. 
Théorie was cigarette holes in the blanket of the bed. 
I definitelly doesn’t recommend this motel !

Terrible hotel

Great stay great staff rooms were nice and clean nice area would stay again  I travel to pville often only place I stay is at this motel 6  close to several restaurants and banks are nearby which is good for me

We chose Porterville for its location near Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park. Prices here are more reasonable than Three Rivers.

The room was very clean and comfortable, serviced every day with more than ample parking. 

I have no reservations in recommending this as a good value for money place to stay.

Useful base for Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park

I reserved a room with a queen bed about a week before my trip to Porterville. I also requested a room on the bottom floor. I received confirmation of my request via email, stating I had a room with a queen bed reserved .  When I checked into the motel, the lady at the desk told me that there were no queen beds available and that my reservation stated that I had the handicapped room with the full bed reserved. I told her no, she was mistaken. I clearly had a queen bed reserved. "Well, I don't have any queen beds available" is what she told me. I could take the full bed or 2 twin beds.  I reluctantly took the full bed, because I was too tired to look for another room. My husband and I aren't small people so with every turn we were hitting each other and waking each other up. It was the most uncomfortable bed we experienced. Our bathroom floor looked and felt like it needed cleaning. In the morning when I checked out I asked the lady at the desk if it was policy to have 2 reservation numbers for 1 reservation. She said no. I told her I was given 2 different reservations. She checked and then apologized. I told her of the difficult time we had sleeping and what was the point reserving a room if we don't get the room we were confirmed on getting? She didn't have a answer. She didn't know why I got the full bed handicapped room either. Either way, if this is how it is to be with motel 6 in the future, I won't be doing business with them again. I am so disappointed. I even wrote a review on their "How did we do" email they sent,and got NO RESPONSE!

Reservations mean you have a certain room reserved right? Obviously not!

When I travel through the United States I usually stay at Motel 6, they are generally the same as other motels, but cheaper. in this case I was in room 245 on the second floor. I paid 75.74 US $ for the night.

I frequent motel 6 simply because they are the most affordable. But, this location is great. I was amazed. The room is a smoking room, but had no smoke smell at all. The bed is super comfy. Usually the beds are hard as a rock but this one is perfect. I was able to sleep beautifully. I would recommend this location. Keep up the great work!

Wow, I was actually impressed.

The Motel 6 in Porterville is near the center of the small town. The location is good and the motel looks appealing from the outside. Years ago, I used to stay at Motel 6 when they were a true value. Now, I am not so impressed. Their prices are higher and their rooms are still no frills.

My room was small but tolerable. There are no luxuries like shampoo (bring your own) or a mini fridge (though a friend said you could request a room with a fridge). The furniture very much looked like it came from IKEA. The room was basic very utilitarian. That would not be a bad thing if the motel was more reasonably priced. At $70 a room in a small town, it did not seem like a bargain.

When I went into the room, I was amazed at how hot it was. I figured the room would cool down when I got back and the sun had gone down. Later that night, I woke up sweating because the room was so hot even though it was in the 40's outside. I saw the thermostat was old and the words were worn off. I moved the lever to cool but that didn't help much. The heat came from the ceiling above the sink and it was noisy all night.

I mentioned it to the clerk at checkout and she said I should have called and they would have moved me. She also mentioned the heating was "green". It turns on based on the temperature outside and this time of year, there was no option to cool the room. She said I should have turned it off and on. The "cool" option did not work.

The bathroom was clean. There was a towel holder on the wall. Again, it seemed like something IKEA would have. The shower was very small and capsule like. The floor of the shower was squishy as if this was a shower unit put in place with its own floor. The shower would definitely be small for anyone of size.

So, a sleepless night in a not so budget motel. It was clean and in a good location. Maybe I got a room with a defective heater but the experience did not give me a good impression of Motel 6.

OVERLY MODEST SMALL ROOMS AND UNCOMFORTABLE ON ALL LEVELS

My wife and I ironically met here while we were visiting a mutual friend that was staying here. 

We have never had a bad experience here. 
Even when our AC in our apartment went out and had to stay here until it was fixed, the staff is friendly and accommodating, house keeping is always on top of things, and the pool is pretty much always cleaner than pools I've seen at fancy hotels.

Awesome for its price

It was cold inside the room but they still did not run the heater. The blankets were inadequate to prevent us from trembling. The room is small, no soap/shampoo in the toilet. Overall very bad experience.
