My family and I visited Potsdam to view the total solar eclipse and we had a wonderful time from beginning to end. The staff was very welcoming, our room was comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed the space so much we decided to stay right on their spacious lawn to have a picnic and view the eclipse instead of traveling into town. There was a lot of room for our son to run around and play. We had a really great time and would absolutely stay there again!

Wonderful Stay

I had to stay a few days in Potsdam visiting my son in college and Potsdam Inn was definitely a good choice. Very pleasant all around. Friendly service, very clean room and bathroom. As a solo traveler I felt very safe here. Room temperature was perfect and it has a fridge and a microwave. The location is also perfect. Next door to Walmart and a couple of minutes from town. I will definitely be staying again! Thank you!

Exceeded my expectations!

My room was clean and the property was fine. No complaints for what it is. It's just fairly expensive for a bare bones type hotel. But it's a clean place to stay and close to the villages of Potsdam and Canton.

Not so cheap bare bones motel

Clean rooms we had two, the owners are accommodating, coffee and muffins each morning, quiet from street noise, and grounds kept up.  Perfect for college visits, local activities, and stopovers while traveling.

Our room and bathroom were very clean and recently renovated.  The beds were comfortable and the room temperature was good. Breakfast foods are available.  Free wi-fi and parking.  The owners, a kind and gentle couple, live on-site with the children. We had no issues requiring intervention, but were greeted warmly when we arrived and they asked about our stay when we saw them in the morning.  The location is a great place to stay when visiting the area and is close to St. Lawrence University, Clarkson, and University of Potsdam.   And the price is the best around!  Highly recommend for a place to sleep and relax for the next days adventures!

Local adventures

Perfect all around Mom n Pop, park at door, court style motor inn. Not fancy but right in every way. AND the price was right!
Super clean everywhere. Well kept grounds and what appears to be a brand new parking lot. Chairs outside at each room.
Owner treated us to peanut snacks from his own stash . . . We really enjoyed our stay here.

Perfect

We stopped at the Potsdam Inn on our motorcycle trip.  It was so nice and clean and the manager went out of his way to make us feel welcome. We had pizza delivered to the room and he brought us plates to eat them on.

Hidden Gem

A nice little Place to stay before I went to the college. The place was very well maintained. If you need or want anything more from towels to soap or shampoo the staff will give it to you no questions asked. The staff were very kind and very professional would highly recommend and definitely will stay next time I come around.

Great Place

Our experience was excellent, the manager was extremely polite and accommodating, the premises were meticulously maintained, the room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. The location was good and situated off the highway. The fee was very fair.
We seriously do recommend this motel.

Beyond expectations!

We'd had a bad experience the night before, but decided to try this one, and were so happy with it. The innkeepers were exceptionally sweet people, and put us into the handicapped room next to the office. (We're a little old, but not handicapped.) It was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. The AC was running on this hot day, there was coffee in the office, we had a fridge and, situated back from the highway, a peaceful night. We'll definitely be back!
