I called to ask if a set of keys was left in the room and was immediately attacked by the person on the phone claiming the room had been damaged and drug paraphernalia was found and therefore, I was billed an xtra charge for this. I explained that I had worked in the hotel business and had cleaned the room and even stripped the bedding. The shower had not even been used and they had minimal cleaning to do. Then she went on to say that drug paraphernalia had been left in the room and I argued with her that was untrue, but she just belittled me. They were prescription meds and they claimed they turned them into the police, and I didn't even realize they were left behind at this point. When I reached out to management the next morning and tried getting charges for damage removed and explained that I had cleaned the room and all claims were false, she then claimed the room had been smoked in and so she would not reverse the charge. This was also false but at this point I knew that nothing I said was going to matter. I retired from a hotel, and I had never witnessed such mistreatment in my career or by any other hotel that I have stayed in over the years.

Treated horribly

After reading these other reviews, it’s like they were dissing a completely different place. I was very happy to find this motel when I did. It was getting dark and I was tired of driving. The price was right, it had a BP station across the street so I could use my BP card, a nice restaurant next door, and I was tickled to find that trains operated behind the motel (I’m a train fan)! The room was clean, and the desk clerk was very personable, even calling my room to see if it was satisfactory.  My two dogs were happy that it was pet-friendly too. I will most definitely stay here again if I’m ever in the area.

Great place to stay...

Can’t even begin to describe how incredibly rude the staff is. Even the manager Tara. Told my employees they could not check them in because they arrived too late (they had truck issues). So instead of just starting a new reservation like any normal place the guy at the counter was a complete A-Hole! I am the office manager for our company so I called in to see what the issue was and I will tell you, I have been in customer service for over 20 years and it’s been a long time since I’ve been talked to the way he did to me. I asked why they didn’t call me since my number is on the reservation, and start a new one. He said in a very mean and loud tone “That’s not my job! I don’t even know who you are”. Hahaha! Are you kidding me?!!! Ended up calling the manager and was shocked that she was not much different. She told me that I should’ve called to let them know we would be late because their computer doesn’t know we had truck issues! Haha! They both just talked over me to prove a point I guess instead of just rebooking a room. The guy was so mean I was afraid to even let my employees stay here. Ended up booking a room at the AmericInn for $25 more a night, gladly!

Worst hotel ever!!!!

Keep your expectations in check for this comfortable and clean motel.  We enjoyed our stay in this quiet and clean room.  The price is right, it’s not fancy!  The train is at reasonable times don’t worry about it.  The restaurant next door has an amazing weekend breakfast buffet. 
Our dogs were welcomed and the morning coffee is delicious.  We will stay here again.

Great hotel, nice staff.  Close to everything.  But beware train is directly in back of hotel!  And it blows the whistle. Deal for the money.  Clean and safe area.  Walking distance to the gas station and family restaurant

They had great employees and the owner and manager were delightful. The room I stayed at I could bring my dogs and I asked them not to clean the room so they gave me clean towels and asked if I needed anything else. The room was also really nice and put together and their fridge they had was a decent sized fridge. I’m really happy with my stay and with how nice everyone was.

Great stay

This motel 6 is absolutely the pits. We came into Prairie du Chien on the wrong side of town and didn't know where anything was but we saw a Motel 6. So against our better judgement we chose to stay there. The room was absolutely filthy. The floor was so dirty we wouldn't even wear our socks. We kept our shoes on. The bathroom was equally filthy with a dirty sink and tub with dirt all over the floor. The room smelled horrible. It smelled like a whole pack of dirty dogs and we couldn't even air the room out. We are absolutely and completely done with Motel 6's.

The worst motel I have stayed in.

Avoid at all costs.  There are better hotels in town. Cheapest is not always the best. The manager/front desk guy/owner or whatever he was was a jerk.rude. idiot. Would not match prices on internet. Broken ice machine.  Hotel has seen its,better days.

AVOID. There is better in town.

Good clean king size bed.  Room was clean.  Microwave and fridge.  The only extra was cable TV.   I learned to never assume there was WIFI, because there isn't at this place.  We only needed a place to crash and then leave early in the morning.  I'd stay there again for only $50.
