It is definitely centrally located. If you like to people watch, this place is great for that, and that is about it. The owner is hard to reach and not super friendly. The noise factor has to be considered when booking here. It is party central out front on Commercial street because of the Boat Slip Pool Parties across the street. Breakfast is self serve and mediocre at best. There is no onsite parking, you have to park 2 blocks away. The patio in the back of the property looks nothing like the picture on the website. It pretty much is a storage area for bicycles, umbrellas and beach chairs. There is some out door furniture crammed in with everything else. The garbage receptacle was full and had not been emptied in 2 days. There is an odor coming from a sewage vent pipe that vents out into the patio area. Getting a bike in and out of that patio area is very difficult because the way the owner parked his jeep. I would not recommend this place.

Not impressed

Read all great reviews before booking and felt mislead. First of all I never heard from the host except for an initial text he sent. Had a room with a view but got no sleep. Lots of street noise and people hanging out on the front porch until 2am. Then smoke detector went off at 530 am. My welcome letter told me to ignore this if it happened and then stated it rarely does.  Breakfast was self serve and disappointing for one who frequents bed and breakfast inns.

Disappointed

I have never had such an unpleasant experience in a hotel. When I arrived, I followed the key collection procedure perfectly. There were NO KEYS in the designated area. I tried texting and calling one of the owners, Paul, on two different numbers including the one noted next to the hotel door. There was no response to either my messages or my calls. I had to wait in front of the hotel because I had no parking permit. I thought that Paul would see me (I was JUST IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL) and would come to give me the keys. In fact he put them in the box without telling me, probably much more than an hour after I contacted him. It was only two hours after my arrival that I was able to move into my room. My first and unfortunately only evening in Provincetown was completely ruined by Paul admitting that he couldn't be reached for three days (I have screenshots of his messages). This is unacceptable when you are in charge of a guest house. He did not apologize and put all the responsibility for the problem on me with humiliating words. As a writer, working from my field experiences in Africa, Europe, Asia, the United States and Central America, I have been traveling the world for many years. I have never been confronted with this kind of situation. Moreover, if the kitchen and the dining room are truly wonderful as well as the breakfast, my room was old-fashioned and badly decorated. There are so many wonderful hotels in Provincetown that you should avoid going to this sad place.

A nightmare

A lovely inn, centrally located, right in the thick of things, so in walking distance to most everything on Commercial Street. The room was excellent: clean, well furnished and comfortable with a nice view of the water. The bed was also great, and the comforter light and warm.  (The heating system also provided ample warmth, warding off the chill of November nights). Breakfast was a do-it-yourself, on-your-own schedule affair, which suited us well. The innkeeper, Paul, did a great job of making guests feel welcomed. Highly recommended!

A Terrific P-Town Base on Commercial Street

Just got back from a great 3 night stay at Prince Albert. Two things I really liked most were it’s location for people watching and the gas fireplace out front where I sat for a couple of hours on my last night. Speaker playing music was also nice. I stayed in Room 6 which is the room with the private bathroom just outside. Both were clean and I think it was the cheapest choice of rooms which is really why I chose it. Also the television choices were nice too as you could access your Hulu / Netflix etc. Great place and plan to come back definitely.

Great and enjoyable stay

I really enjoyed my stay at the Prince Albert Guesthouse in late September.  Host Paul was very friendly and welcoming. The room was nice and clean and you couldn't ask for a more perfect location in Provincetown. I look forward to staying at the Prince Albert guest house again.

Wonderful stay in Ptown!

I booked a week vacation at the last minute and was lucky to get a room at the Prince Albert. By far the most fun, relaxing, and enjoyable stay in my 30 years of visiting Ptown. The Prince Albert location is ideal - and this place is the most friendly and most comfortable place that I’ve ever stayed in Ptown. The guests and staff were fantastic - and I’ve already booked my return fir next year. I’ve stayed at much more expensive places - but I had so much more fun and relaxation here. The staff is amazing, Paul (owner) is exceptional, and I made some wonderful friends during the week. I will no longer stay anywhere else. After the wonderful week I had - I would only be disappointed at another inn. 

I had an amazing view of the bay and the activity on Commercial Street - and was content to relax on the beautiful front terrace. I’ve found my new home in Ptown!

Spectacular week in Ptown! My best week stay - in 30 years!

We got a very cold shoulder from our host Paul from the beginning of our stay, and it didn’t improve the two other times we saw him in passing. No eye contact. Never smiled. We brushed it off and kept to ourselves while at the inn, so we’ve moved on, but we won’t be back

We didn’t feel welcome

I recently stayed here and will absolutely stay again. Paul is very welcoming! The staff are super friendly and the breakfasts are great, just what I need to get me going in the morning. The location is perfect and you get a water view from several rooms as well as the front patio area. I look forward to my next stay!

Love this property and people!

This was our second time staying at the Prince Albert Guest House and as we enjoyed last year so much, we had just as much an enjoyable time this year. Paul and Trish are fantastic hosts. We loved our room, the accommodations were excellent and the weather for the most part was fantastic. It was great seeing a larger population of people visiting Provincetown and to see people smiling again. It's location is excellent and we were so sad to have to return to civilization but such is life. AND Provincetown is a serious Dog town ! Our two pups were on olfactory overload as we walked and I'm sure the hundred of others were too.  Family members also stayed at the location for a part of the time we were there so we all had a great time spending it with each other. Truly wonderful. We will be back again and again as time allows. Thank you Paul and Trish !
