Beautiful, welcoming B and B. Comfortable bed and pillows; went to sleep instantly. Elegantly decorated room. Courtney was a wonderful hostess. 
The plus was the American style breakfast (instead of a continental) which is rare to find in B and Bs after the pandemic. Nice deck. Close proximity to everything in Provincetown. Would stay here longer and another time.  

Beautiful Stay!

Today, July 7, 2023 is the 8th day of our 10-day stay at this B&B.  I thought of writing this review on our 2nd day because my partner and I were so much happier staying here compared to the other Ptown B&B where we stayed last year, but I thought I'd wait a few more days just to make sure.  Well, my rating for this B&B would still be as high today as it was on our 2nd day.  In fact, I found more excellent reasons to book our stay for next year before we check-out!  Courtney is a wonderful, kind and attentive host.  Her staff, Jerome and Simone, are both very helpful and polite.
This place has a happy hour with a generous selection of complementary wine and beer to choose from.  Guests have access to a wide selection of Keurig coffee as well as tea and water.
The dining area is well appointed and provides for ample opportunity to get to know other guests.  The rooms are wonderful, and the location is within walking distance of both the East end and West end attractions.
I very highly recommend The Somerset House.

Excellent B&B in Provincetown

Such an incredible B&B! The owner and staff were so kind, welcoming, and were happy to share recommendations of places to eat and explore. It is located right on Commercial Street and is so close to all of the shops and restaurants we explored! They were so accommodating for our arrival and leave times, allowing us to keep our luggage with them when we didn’t have access to our room. The happy hour was so generous as well! We had a few glasses of wine which were complimentary in the evening before we left for dinner. The included breakfast exceeded expectations. I would recommend to anybody and everybody!

The most wonderful B&B

Courtney is the perfect host--welcoming , responsive and respectful.   She has redone the inn in a way which honors  the history of this grand old house while being perfectly charming and comfortable.  Excellent location on Commercial street.  Great way to experience Provincetown!

In the heart of Provincetown

What a gem the Somerset House is principally because Courtney, the innkeeper, is such a warm, enthusiastic, caring, and gracious person.  I've traveled a lot of places and Courtney's kindness and welcome are both rare and captivating.  She makes you feel utterly at home.  She offers all sorts of little touches--from delicious omelets for breakfast, excellent coffee, yummy jams for muffins, exceptionally comfortable mattresses, a glass of beer or wine at 5:00 pm, great suggestions for restaurants, help booking them, thoughtful commentary on life in Provincetown...  The inn is relaxing and lovely and your time there will be comforting mostly because Courtney is such a remarkably warm and thoughtful person.  I commend the Somerset House to you.  And I'm grateful for Courtney.

Wonderful Provincetown Inn!

This was my fourth (?) stay at SH.It is under new ownership & remains just as perfect as ever.Courtney,Patrick & Jerome are gems!My room was clean & comfortable with luxurious sheets & pillows & my fave French toiletries.Shower water pressure was great & bath was spacious.There is lots of indoor & outdoor seating arranged in an inviting way.The location is central to everything.The inn always attracts interesting guests & is conducive to friendly interaction.I really appreciated the round the clock decaf coffee & the fresh fruit,yogurt & granola every morning.There is a hearty hot option which appears delicious as well as an afternoon wine hour.I am looking forward to many more visits.

Wonderful place

A fabulous place to stay - we had 2 nights here and we wished we had longer. Courtney and the team are superb hosts and every night at 5pm they have a drinks reception where all the guests get together for an hour to for laughs and to share tips on the best bars, restaurants and shows. Rooms are very comfortable - we were in room 3 which was really nice and felt very ‘Cape Cod’ but it’s the people that make it such a super place to stay

Fabulous hotel in a unique town

The Somerset, which acquired a new owner in late winter  2022,   remains a quiet, comfortable and well- run Inn. Having  stayed several times with the prior owners (Bob and Dan)   I naturally had some trepidation about potential changes-concerns that were unfounded!   

The new owner, (Courtney)  has repainted and refurnished the public areas. (The living room is now open until later in the evening).  The entire property is now NON SMOKING, so I appreciated no longer having to dodge smokers outside. There's new deck furniture, additional seating on the lower brick patio and a Keurig coffee maker in the hallway with decaf available 24 hours. 

The same staff  contributes to a familiar feel and provide excellent guest service and attention to room cleanliness .  (Thanks Patrick!)  Guest rooms have been  named and any issues being addressed. The daily breakfasts  offer a homemade egg selection, fruit, yogurt, juice coffee, and sometimes sausage or bacon.  Courtney has also worked with a few businesses so Somerset guests can obtain a small discount by presenting their room key.

The removal of the large table and umbrella from the deck did  expose the area to the full morning sun. This was disappointing as it limited eating breakfast or lunch  outside  (The entire property is fully shaded by early evening about 4:30-5).  NOTE: As of this review, plans are being made to provide 'wind sails' or similar shading on the upper deck. That, in my view, will create a perfect outdoor dining/drinking/sitting area.

Prior guests who love pastry (like me) will miss Bob's daily homemade baked offerings.  This omission may change over time; meanwhile, still yummy eggs  to eat!

Guests with vehicles should be aware that, like many inns in town, there is now a charge for daily parking. 

Everything said, I  enjoyed a wonderful eight night stay; I look forward to continuing as a loyal gust.

Peaceful Inn With New Owner

We had a wonderful stay at Courtney’s place! The location is ideal! Breakfasts were yummy made by “Spooky”, an absolutely delightful and fun and  talented person! Check out the garden shop next door! And leave time to relax in the garden in front and meet the folks passing by! Everyone was friendly and delightful! Including Ann on the Ann Hutchinson tour! Go! It was fab!

Fab time in P town at the Somerset inn

It's the last town on Cape Cod and it's beautiful, colorful, friendly, great food and beautiful beaches.  You can be as busy or lazy as you want.  It's up to you.  The Somerset House Inn is right on the main street - Commercial Street so you can walk, stroll, visit.  The beach is across the street.  If you need an idea of where to go, just ask Courtney and she is happy to point you in the right direction!  I cannot wait to go back!
