We decided at the last minute to take a weekend trip. Found a decent deal at Tall Pines. The people were great, friendly. The room was clean except for a dirty towel or two left over from the last guests. 
The hot tub was marginal at best, only one jet worked. The pool needs to be redone and cleaned. We found a pair of underwear in the deep end and the outdoor jacuzzis at the pool were not working with standing brown/green water. There was no water pressure in the shower and the mechanism to work the shower was pretty tricky. 
They advertised breakfast included but in reality it was boxed donuts and coffee. All in all we considered it part of the adventure but will not return.

Last minute trip

This a nice family run motel, with a very friendly and accommodating staff. Everything was great and the rooms were clean. The only criticism I have is that the mattresses weren’t too great, but if you can deal with that this place is great. Definitely worth a stay.

Nice and friendly place with a pool.

This is a smokers den. Nothing against the people who smoke, but you have to walk to room with people smoking less than one feet away. There is a smoking table outside everyroom, there is no way to avoid smoke.

Pool is good, well kept, the staff is friendly. Rooms are ok.

Not sure if this is meant for non smoking families.

My girlfriend and I tried to book a last minute trip to Lake George, having never been there before, and Tall Pines really came through for us. When we initially called, they were fully booked for the weekend. They got a cancellation though and called us back to let us know that they had an opening so we immediately booked. The owner and operator's name is Alan, and he was awesome. Very friendly and accommodative throughout the entire trip. We weren't able to get in until after midnight on Friday and Alan was right there to meet us. He gave us some recommendations on restaurants for the next day, as well as some really helpful info on some of the boat rental companies (which really came in clutch in us being able to get a boat the next day). The room was very clean and affordable, especially compared to some of the other insane prices other establishments were charging for that same weekend. Unfortunately the jacuzzi was closed because of COVID, but the pool was still open. Alan also lit a couple of bonfires for the patrons which was an awesome way to spend a cool summer night (definitely not something that they would do at any of the other major hotel chains). The location is about a 5 minute drive from downtown Lake George, so not really walkable, but was an easy drive to and from all the things we wanted to do there. I would definitely recommend Tall Pines, and we will for sure be going back there on our next trip to Lake George.

Great trip to Tall Pines

Room was clean and owners seem nice but I do not recommend. Their website lists a pool heated to 84 degrees, kiddie pool and playground. The pool was not yet open for the season and was not being actively worked on. The playground no longer exists. 

We traveled five hours from our home for the weekend and planned to spend time relaxing by the pool.  Shame on me for not asking if the pool was functioning. Inside Jacuzzi was cloudy and after seeing the condition of the rest of the grounds, we didn't attempt it. And, we paid a premium price because there was an event in town.

These photos show the horrible condition of the exterior of the motel property. Ice machine is out of order, they will give you ice, roof above the machine has a hole in it. Old gas grills, the former jungle gym, bent basketball net, a bathtub and other junk piled everywhere. 

Great expectations, huge let down!

Friendly and very helpful owner who cared and kept us well informed. We found the place clean as described but very dated. Unfortunately not dates as in old and charming. In Oct, our room was also very damp. 


Not moved with the times

We stayed here in early October for one night. The room was very clean and the beds of average comfort.  There is a huge deck along the front of the motel, and the back wall was a slider with another deck with chairs.  There looked to be a fire pit outside but it wasn't in use.  There was a mini fridge, and ample towels.

The things I did not like are: the TV was an old style monster but we didn't watch it.  The free breakfast was a limited selection of donuts.  The location is just a bit out of the village so you would think it would be quiet, but there was a lot of loud truck traffic.  There is free parking, but it is not marked with lines so people don't park smartly - we came in late and had to be creative with our parking.

I realize this is a tourist town, but I thought the $130 was a little high priced considering the "breakfast".

Clean and Convenient

I booked this trip a week prior to Labor Day wknd so many places were full. The owner & son were super friendly and gave us lots of ideas of what to do on our first trip to lake George. They suggested a rodeo that night & it was great. Although the exterior of the property needs some maintenance, our room was very clean and the beds were comfy. I was hoping the breakfast would have had a few more choices than a few types of donuts. The pool looked nice but it poured most of our trip so we didn't get to use it. We were hoping to use the indoor jacuzzi after a cold, wet day in town but it was out of order. I feel the price was reasonable for what was offered and if we do return to Lake George in the future we would consider staying here again.

This motel is very well located close to the village, the great escape and shopping.
The motel owner is friendly, always there if needed.
Rooms are comfortable and clean with balconies in both front and back of most units.
Continental breakfast included in reasonable prices.

Clean and comfortable

We made a spontaneous stop in Lake George for one night and found this gem of a motel!  Super clean, comfortable, and very friendly and knowledgeable staff.  Plus the pool looked inviting; we just ran out of time!  Definitely recommend!
