My husband and I stayed here in July, as we put together a very last-minute weekend trip to Lake George. I could barely sleep the first night, as I was incredibly skeeved out by the condition of the room. Yes, it seemed like there was a fresh coat of paint on the walls, however, the shower/bathroom, beds, and carpet conditions were disgusting. Also, a horrible ant problem in the bathroom, BUT that isn't even the worst part of it. The worst part is that the tax rate they charge guests is unheard of and should be illegal. The marginal tax for New York State is 7%, but this motels tax is 12%. When I called asking for clarity on why I was charged so much, they keep handing me off to another person, and then simply hung up the phone as if it was disconnect! I would NOT recommend staying here, they will steal your money.

I made reservations for the Nassau Motel for Americade, (Bike Week), from June 6-9th over the phone with the manager about a month from the date I wanted to come in. He told me he had a cancellation so he had a room for me. I asked him how much a night, he told me $105.00 a night, I wrote it down, and was excited that I found a room, it's really hard to find one even months ahead of time. I asked about the policy of canceling, just in case one of us couldn't make it, he said if you don't come you don't come, I thought that was kind of odd but made sure I would call him well in advance if we couldn't make it. Well, when we got there to check in, they tried to double the price on us! The wanted $200.00 a night! I had the piece of paper with the name and address of the motel in my pocket with the price he quoted me, they didn't care, just wanted double what they quoted me on the phone. I told them they could stick the room and left! The place seems like a nice little place to stay, but I won't even consider them after that stunt, they must not be too honest to do that to someone who drove 165 miles on a motorcycle only to try to extort extra money from them!

My family and I stayed here the end of August.  I have stayed here a number of times over the years.  Ray, the owner is great to deal with.  We had the efficiency unit and it was immaculate.  The pool and the landscaping are very clean as well. Lexi the housekeeper was always there daily for whatever you needed. Besides the pool, there is a great patio and propane grill you can use with plenty of seating.  Plus it's a great price for the Lake George area.  Nassau Motel is right across the street from the Magic Forest amusement park, close to the Great Escape, the outlets and Lake George Village.  Very centrally located to everything.  All of the rooms have a nice porch overlooking the mountains.  We look forward to going back again!

Super nice owner, very clean and great price!

We spent 4 nights and 5 days. Had 9 in our party. We had 2 efficiency apartments that shared the same porch with a beautiful view of the sunrise over the mountains. The housing was very roomy and had no problems accommodating our family with two queen beds and a large couch that turned out an additional bed. One apartment was very clean on arrival, the other had some nailclippings of a prior resident and the glasses in the kitchen cabinet needed to be rewashed as well as fridge wiped out. The beds could have been more comfortable as they all seem to need matress replacement but we were so tired at the end of the day that it did not matter much. The cookware and dishes were enough for party of 4 and o ly one apartment had a coffee pot, which we shared. The pool was heated and kept clean. The water pressure excellent and hot water was definitely HOT and did not get cold even after 4 back to back showers. We did use the community grill as well as the community pavilion ( make note to bring your own grill spatula and turning fork, we found a nearby dollar store for ours) a large family that appears to work here seems to use the community facility for every evening meal and although they said nothing they kept a close eye on our group awaiting our departure from the pavilion. Noise level was fair with some fireworks o. The front lawn that ended around 1130 each night. Air conditioning was ice cold and maid was kind and dutifully brought fresh towels each day. All in all this place served us well and is pretty standard as Lake George accommodations go. We come to Lk. George yearly so we have stayed in alot of the motels . This was as good as any other and the apartment feature was very much appreciated. We would probably stay here again, although it is for sale. A bonus would be if they allowed pets, which they did not.

Rented two efficiency apartments for a reasonable rate

I stayed here with some of my family members for a fun weekend in Lake George.  We had never been there before and thought it would be a nice pleasant trip for the ladies.  We chose Nassau Motel because they would be able to accommodate a group and were very friendly over the phone. We payed for the house which accommodated most of our group; however due to having one extra person, we were told by management that we had to get an extra room, which was fine with us because they said they would give us the most economical room available.  

Sadly, the night before our trip, two of the girls could not make it because their grandmother, whom they lived with, passed away during the night.  When we arrived we wanted to speak with the manager and let him know that we would be staying in the house only because of the circumstances (and we wanted to keep the group together).  The manager became very aggressive and rude, assuming that we were not going to pay for the extra room  (we wanted to see what could be done about the extra room, if we needed to pay for it then we would but if it could be rented out to someone else then it would be a great option as well).  We were not treated respectfully; the manager showed his "true"  side and feelings towards doing business with our kind of people (minorities).  At the end of our trip we were told by the manager that we were avoiding him while we made several attempts to speak with him during our stay, most of the time there was sign on the door saying he was out running errands.  

We were aware that two out of the three nights we stayed there the manager was able to rent out the extra room that he originally had for us, because he had the no vacancy sign up, which he told us he would put up if he was able to rent out the room.  Although this was the case, when it was time to check out he still showed disrespectful aggressive mannerism and attitude towards us and told us he was charging us for all three nights for the extra room that we did not use (which we know were rented out by other tenants for 2 nights).  When we made him aware that we knew the rooms were rented out, he began changing his words.  In the end we ended up paying more than was first discussed with the manager.

I would not recommend this place due to the disrespectful and rude nature of the manage.  Although his customer service was horrendous we still made the best of our trip because we did not want the horrible experiences with him (and the fact that we were overcharged) to ruin a good getaway in Lake George.

Horrible Customer Service

I don't even know where to start.  I'm writing this review from the room.  I'm writing it from a personal hotspot because first of all the WIFI doesn't work.  I asked management about it and they said it worked, it doesn't.  The couch is about ready to split in half, the AC isn't enough to cool the entire unit, the shower doesn't have a plug in the drain (i know, minor, right? but we have kids) and the beds are seriously in need of an update.  I understand the concept of "you get what you pay for" but this is a bit of an extreme.  I can deal with the tub, we'll shower the kids, the couch, whatever, we'll sit in the chairs, the beds kind of suck and is hard to live with and the WIFI not working in 2016 is a bit unacceptable.  I mean jesus, I brought my own WIFI extender and even that couldn't connect.  Anyhow, I most certainly would not stay here again, ALTHOUGH I will say that management themselves (Ray specifically), really cool guy.  Very nice.  Just wish things worked a bit better around here.  Oh, and the pool is nice.  It's heated, warm and clean.

Oh man

I'd like to say our stay at the Nassau Motel was relatively pleasant, but the more I think about the treatment we received by the owner "Ray", I have to refrain myself from giving this place a good review. 
I booked the house (20) way ahead of time, in February through EXPEDIA.  This trip was planned originally for 6 of us.  I was hosting a very low key and laid back getaway with my best friends and cousins celebrating one of my cousin's bachelorette. 
The house was paid in full and while speaking to Ray, he "appeared" to be a very friendly/nice person.  I reached out to him again because I wanted to add another room for 4 more extra guests.  He suggested I collect their money first to avoid any problems in case they bailed on me.  I thought that was very sweet of him.  I thanked him for it.  
I reached back once again that, unfortunately, the extra guests were unable to commit to this trip, except for one.  I would be taking an extra room since I was hosting the getaway, I didn't wait the girls to be split apart- I would deal with that. 
He, over the phone, gave me the prices for the motel room for 1 person.  This room accommodates 2 people.  Since it would be only me, I asked for the cabin room.  He explained this room was super small with literally a shower and a bed.  I told him I was okay with that since I literally couldn't afford anything extra.  He told me he was charging me $85 per night for 3 nights no tax included if I paid cash. 
That sounded great right? Ok great. Now here is what really happened.
The morning of the road trip- my two cousins (sisters) had to cancel their trip because their grandma passed away in the middle of the night.  Sad and with a heavy heart, the rest of us made our trip to Lake George because we were going to make the best out of our trip. 
We arrived to Nassau Motel around 4 PM.  
The very second we walked inside the main office (only my best friend and I), Ray was on the telephone and looked at us as if we had arrived at the wrong place.  
Once he got off the phone, I introduced myself.  I would love to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he was having a bad day which would explain that certain look and attitude he had, but no.  The more we interacted, the more aggravated he became. 
I was very excited to have arrived.  I drive 4 long hours, I had spoken to this "friendly" man over the phone several times, I was happy to be there with my closest girlfriends. 
He pulled out the reservation paper.  I told him we would only be staying at the house that was already paid for due to unfortunate circumstances.  Two of my cousins couldn't come and the extra room was no longer needed.  NOW, I am 35 years old... I am aware how business are run... I am not only sensible to other people, but I know that regardless of the situation, I had to pay for the extra room because that's a reservation I made and therefore I didn't want Ray to miss out of getting any business.  
To say he was aggressively rude is an understatement.  He wasn't very nice since the minute we walked in so once he heard me say "we will only stay at the house" he automatically assumed I wasn't paying for the room I had reserved.  
I tried numerous times to explain myself that I will be paying for the room.  He calmed down enough to suggest that he would remove the "no vacancy" sign to see if he could rent out the room and I would only be responsible for the balance.  I IGNORED the fact that he was rude because I was embarrassed and a bit humiliated.  
I took the deal he gave me.  I was hoping someone would rent the room, but if that wasn't the case, I was ready to pay for it-- business is business right?  Well- he removed the "no vacancy" sign. 
That night (Friday) nobody rented the room because I could see the "vacancy" sign up. 
My two cousins saw him on their way to the pool and he spoke impolitely and disrespectfully stating that he didn't care about what happens because no matter what someone was responsible for paying for the room-- they came back to the house and said what I had been wanting to avoid even giving it some thought.  That he was discriminating against us. 
Then Saturday afternoon, we drove off and saw "no vacancy" up.. Obviously, someone had rented the room.  
I stopped by the office, Ray had left a sign on the main office door saying he was out for errands.  On my way back I checked again, same sign was on the door.  I took a picture of the "no vacancy sign" just in case. 
On Sunday, I came to speak to him.  The same sign was up, he was out for errands.  There was a "no vacancy sign" and again I took a pic. 
Based on what he had originally said, if the room was rented, then I wasn't responsible for the room's rate.  I was aware Friday night nobody rented it, but Saturday and Sunday wasn't the case. 
Today (Monday) I walked early (9:50AM) to his office to pay for whatever balance I had and also ask about the time for check-out. 
He was disrespectful and inappropriate.  Off the back, he told me I had "pissed him off" the minute I arrived on Friday.  I'm not going to lie, I fought tears back.  We live in a world where there is so much hatred and we try to avoid all the stigma that comes from being minorities.  He was treating me like I was someone that he obviously had no respect for.  He told me I owed him $375 cash for the room.  I reminded him about the deal he made about renting the room and deducting the price. 
He yelled and aggressively stated that I wasn't going to pay him and that made him angry - that I had been avoiding him. He went on and on about wanting him money. 
Again, I might have dark hair, my skin might be tanned, I may even have an accent when I speak, but I am highly educated and I have a good career.  Paying was never an issue.  He treated me like I was some immigrant girl trying to get away from paying.  
He wasn't charging me $85 per night anymore, he raised the price to the bigger room- how convenient for him.  I mentioned that I saw the "no vacancy" sign posted up.. He became a little uneasy and nervously replied "yeah I rented it to a man for 100 bucks for one night"- I said I saw it for two consecutive nights.  He said "oh I was out yesterday all day because I had to bring my dog ..." I cut him off short because he had just been screaming at me for "avoiding" him. 
He didn't make any sense.  I just said to plead run my debit card because I honesty just wanted to leave that place.  Then he goes on to adding "oh I need to charge you tax.." I said whatever Ray.. Just charge whatever it is so I can go.  All of the  sudden he begins deducting from $375 and brings it down to $250.  
I love to travel.  This was my very first road trip.  I travel outside of the US twice per year.  I have NEVER encountered such ignorance in any of my travels. 
I'm still trying to wrap my head around all of this.  I never said I wasn't paying for the extra room I had reserved.  I didn't deserve the treatment he gave me and my friends/cousins.  
I came across the Nassau Motel through Expedia and I will be calling Expedia to investigate about this place-  Lake George is a beautiful place.  Besides having to deal with Ray, we had an amazing time in the town.  
The lady that works with him, I don't know if she's related, she was kind and helpful those very few times we interacted.
The house itself was kept well- it's outdated, but it's nice.  Poor lighting, only lamps, but it wasn't too much of a problem for us girls. 
The refrigerator didn't cool things well, but we had a potent fridge and we made it work.  
The pool was clean and warm- we only used it once.
In all, I was very sad and disappointed in the treatment this mad gave me.  I didn't do anything to him.  I was kind and polite the entire time.  I was taught to be respectful even when coming across those that are not.  
My advice to you, if you are trying to book you stay here, don't make deals or payments with this man.  Pay and book through Travelocity.  At least you can avoid some headaches.
And advice to my Hispanics trying to book here:  no vengan aqui porque este hombre es un racista.

Ray you were disrespectful and humiliated me from the moment I walked in.  Please, I hope you don't do this to anyone again.  Lake George is a highly competing area with many more hotels/motels - the Nassau Motel is adorable, but I wouldn't have mind paying for more if they could guarantee me a better treatment.   I hope you read this.
