I would stay here again. It is very close to sea level so I suspect that high tides and coastal winds may be a factor. The grounds and facilities are very dated but also very well maintained. No traffic noise and on the way to the Chesapeake Tunnel/Bridge.

Wide open spaces with beautiful views of the water

There are no amenities to speak of, few sewer sites, a run down image of what used to be and no service. I reserved online and when expecting to arrive called all afternoon & no answer. Throughout our stay we saw no one except a person picking up packages. What a waste!

No management, no service, answers.

First no office personnel greeted us all info was in a mailbox and had to figure out where to go, the cabins were clean but in need of an update all around exterior and interior. Need of lamps the overhead lighting is so bright. Bring everything you need stores are 25 miles away from cabins. If you love the outdoors this is for you. We would have like a restaurant closer to dine in,.

Cabin Rental

The site was beautiful and peaceful, the bathhouse was clean and the laundry facility was clean as well. I loved the community garden and I actually picked some tomatoes and cucumbers for dinner. I will visit this place again especially for some quality time and peace. 

Restful Vacation

We stayed in one of the cabins. It was right on the water. There is no beach right there but it was still beautiful. Cabins aren’t really close to the rest of the campground so they are more private feeling. No linens included which I didn’t see when I booked. But we made it work. 

Great cabin on the water

Beautiful property surrounded by the bay. Wildlife thriving on this land. No amenities really. Grounds well kept. Yes you can swim in bay by walking in a little marsh. My family enjoyed swimming in the bay. The sunrise and sunset is amazing. Highly recommend TLC with mini golf, playground , fixing the unusable sites and fixing the pool to use on those hot summer days. My family enjoyed the ride to assateague island and enjoyed the ocean it is about 50 minutes away. This is Potentially a gold mine there so much there to enhance this campground. We loved the quite and quality time as a family. The only complaint I have is the Mosquitoes are just bad. I would love to see the common areas Professionally sprayed to keep the level low and mandible for the health and safety of employees and campers.

Hidden Beauty

The site was relaxing with water view and clean and the staff was great. 

But I knew the pool was not working but having a 11 year old they need some other amenities. Club house was closed, put put need some repairs

Relaxing but amenities are Serious work

Was not pleased that I was told things on the phone prior to traveling there, that didn’t exist. Website paints and tells a different story also. Nothing for children to do. Half to travel an hour either direction to swim. 

Highly disappointed

The location is spectacular! You can tell this was a fantastic place at one time, but it is currently in desperate need of remodeling/repair. I hope the owner decides to fix it up, it would be worth it!

So much potential with such an amazing location

I am told this was a popular  campground back in the day.  It is on a beautiful, quiet and secluded peninsula with Hog Island Bay on one side and Machapango River on the other. The good stops there. Pool is permanently closed, bathrooms are in need of an upgrade,sites were full of trash, no beach, dock is falling in the water, boat ramp is crumbling, no clubhouse, no Wi-Fi and the golf course is falling apart. No security as gate is always open and quiet check in Ranger station is closed.  So anyone can just drive in anytime of day or night.  So basically all of the advertised amenities are not there or not functioning.  Sad that such a beautiful property is in such disrepair.  Much better places to camp than this.
