We spent five nights at the Emerald Hills B&B in Rapid City, SD, in September.   We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!  This B&B has a great location for traveling  to lots of restaurants, the Black Hills, the Badlands,  and Mount Rushmore to name a few, and other locations like Deadwood and Sturgis.  It is not very far from Devils Tower in Wyoming.   We were on the road every morning after a delicious and filling breakfast provided by Shari and Lee.  They were the perfect hosts, friendly and informative.  We stayed in the Dakota Dreams bedroom suite.   Very comfortable, quiet, and private.   One of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in.   

Fantastic B&B - fantastic hosts

Great bed and breakfast.  We stayed 8 nights and enjoyed the delicious breakfasts and conversations with Shari and Lee during breakfast.  The bed and breakfast is spotless and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the beautiful state of South Dakota.

Wonderful bed and breakfast.

We enjoyed our three night stay at this lovely bed & breakfast. Shari and Lee were attentive, helpful hosts. The breakfast was delicious, and Shari was very accommodating of a vegetarian diet. She even provided some oat milk in our room.

Awesome Innkeepers

Shari and Lee are wonderful innkeepers… they care about dietary needs, that you are comfortable and interested in you. We had amazing and wonderful breakfast, the view was stunning and the rooms clean, comfortable and cozy. We stayed for 5 days, it was wonderful to be comfortable, relaxed and welcomed

Wonderful stay

We stayed 6 nights of a two week road trip. The hosts Sheri and Lee were absolutely phenomenal - hospitable without hovering which is sometimes the case in B&Bs. They wore masks and kept a safe distance all the time. Sheri went out of her way to create healthy breakfasts with mercifully small portions since we told her that we aren’t big morning eaters. They offers tips and suggestions for our day trips and dining. The location could not be more perfect for the most popular locations. The room we stayed in had a small bathroom but it was more than adequate. The other room has a larger bathroom outside the bedroom. The bed was super comfy and the room had all the essentials, coffee maker, microwave, fridge, etc. to provide us options for our meals. The rooms are downstairs but if one wants the beautiful view of the Black Hills, the upstairs patio is free for guests to use. We mostly chose to stay tucked in downstairs for our outside wine in the evenings. We appreciated that only two rooms are in the B&B as safety was a priority for us. We definitely would come back to Emerald Hills!

Fantastic B&B!

My wife and I enjoyed staying at this beautiful home. Our suite was well appointed and provided a great location to explore all the sights near Rapid City (Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Badlands, etc.). Shari and Lee were excellent hosts and the breakfast that Shari provided each morning was delicious. I would highly recommend this B&B for anyone wishing a friendlier and more personal lodging experience.

Wonderful place to stay in Rapid City

We truly enjoyed our two night stay at Emerald Hills. Our room was comfortable and clean and the bath was large despite the fact that it was not en-suite.  We appreciated visiting with Shari and Lee on the upper deck with the beautiful view. Breakfasts were delicious and Shari did a super job accommodating my sugar free, gluten free diet.

Enjoyable Visit

We just checked out, stayed at this beautiful place for 3 nights. Very clean, large bathroom with a private entrance . Breakfast is home made , very delicious, you can customize it if you are gluten free or vegetarian . View is amazing . We felt like a part of the family ! Highly recommended 

Great stay close to Mt Rushmore

Shari and Lee were great host. The accommodations were very nice, bed was very comfortable,  extremely quiet, and I especially liked their cleaning regiment because of the COVID pandemic.  The view from the deck is spectacular (Rushmore, Needles Highway, Black Hills).  If you have binoculars bring them.  My wife and I are not big B&B people but this one is a real gem.  Also, very  happy we chose this location because of it central location to Rushmore, Needles Highway, Crazy Horse, Devils Tower,  Deadwood, and Spearfish.  Also, if you are driving east to west on I 90 it is an easy 3.5 hour drive from the Badlands.

Midwest adventure

The rooms are large, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable with a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, sitting area, and lots of little touches that are useful and appreciated.  The location was perfect for us, central to going to Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Devils Tower and exploring all the areas in between.  Breakfast every morning was absolutely delicious!  Shari is a great cook.  But best and most important of all, Shari and Lee are super friendly, wonderful people!  Conversation with them over breakfast was the best.  It is obvious they love what they do and enjoy meeting new people.  And if you get lucky,  as we did our last morning there, you might see the mule deer that visits their yard and walks right by the  breakfast patio.
