We usually stay at chain hotels, but we thought we'd give this non-chain hotel a try, since it got good reviews.  Everything about the room was fine, but what really irked me was that they charged me more when I arrived, than what I was told when I made the reservation.  When I arrived, they added a 3% credit card charge.  And when I made the reservation, I had to give them my credit card number.  So they knew I was paying by credit card.  Why wouldn't they tell me that when I booked?  And when I checked in, I had no recourse to dispute it, or no option to pay cash, since they had ALREADY charged my credit card the day before I arrived.   I’ll never be staying here again.

At least with chain hotels, you know the price you are quoted is the price you pay.   And they don’t charge extra for using a credit card.

No frills, but squeaky clean and friendly front desk staff. We were looking for a place at the last minute as we were driving and came across this.  Called and were able to get the last available room- the UP state fair was in progress just up the road.  We would stay here again.  Very positive experience!

Last minute stay in Escanaba

Stayed at the Lincoln Host Motor Inn 8/2/2024 while visiting Escanaba.  It has a great location near a  restaurant called Drofters just across the street that was a very nice family restaurant.  Our room was extrremely clean and eveyone there was very friendly and helful.  We would stay there agan.

Great Place to Stay in Escanaba

Big surprise and a delightful one. This place was highly recommended to us by dear friends in traverse city and we thought, why not.  This, after paying $200 a night and more for very average to poor accommodations. 
What a great find. Real “Ma and Pa” with no surprises, clean, lovely, big room with the King Bed we asked for. No breakfast but we had cereal and a fridge for milk. 
Great little find. We highly recommend it.

SUPER and Inexpensive

We could not believe our eyes!  This was one of the cleanest motels we have ever stayed in.  The bathroom sparkled, the sheets on the bed were 100% cotton, starched and ironed, and the people who worked there were so sweet.  We will definitely be back on our next trip to MI.

What it is like when people really care

Beware Room 102! The bathroom exhaust fan sounds like a jet engine when you turn it on. We spoke to the lady at the desk about this issue and she seemed to take it in stride…The bathroom sink was very slow to drain- kind of annoying. The room and bathroom were very clean which was nice. Would we stay here again? Probably not.

Not Too Bad

Very nice place to stay.  Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly.  The entire property was spotless!  Rooms were very comfortable.  A/C worked great even on hot days.  Walking distance to several good restaurants and lots of fast food chain restaurants.  Would stay here again without any hesitation.

The people were very kind and helpful with information about the community.  Check in and Check out was very prompt and professional.  The rooms were spotless.  Big Name hotels could take lessons.  Overall great experience.  Look forward to returning.

Great Stay with Great People

I stayed here two separate nights. Cost is reasonable and rooms were clean. I  had conversations with three different staff at the front desk. Each individual was very professional and personable. Willing to answer all my touristy questions with a pleasant attitude.

Good value for $

I asked the clerk if I could plug in to maintain the charge we just received from the supercharger at Meijer. We needed a full charge to enable us to visit Kitch-iti-kipi and make it to the charger in Mackinac City first thing in the morning.  She called a manager who gave her permission. Not an hour later, she called us to have it unplugged. When my husband went down to unplug the vehicle,  he saw the unfortunate clerk being excessively berated on the phone by a SCREAMING supervisor. She was almost in tears.
The room was VERY CLEAN and comfortable aside from the road noise. The supervisor should be thanking his wonderful staff for maintaining this property so well instead of BERATING them for honoring a customer's request that he charged us $15.00 for.
