Horrible check in and if arrive late... your  screwed. Lost over a $100 due to arriving late and no instructions for arrival. Contact staff could careless (already paid) about your stay. "Run Forest run!"

Stop, turn around and leave.

The cabin we stayed in was very quaint and cozy. It's a little small for two people and a dog, but was very doable. I love the cabin feel. We had a problem with the toilet, but was taken care of immediately.
The screen on the front door needs to be replaced, but for the most part, it was a really cool experience.
Incidentally, we were in #6.

Cute and Quaint

DO NOT STAY HERE ! Horrible host! No heat, no hot water ! Toddler toilets (seriously). After hours check in is a nightmare ! Code for doors are 3 miles down the road not on same property, in a cardboard box outside, where anyone could get your code, room number, and envelope with all your information!  I could literally go on and on about this place. Save yourself some trouble and go anywhere else !

DO NOT STAY HERE !

It wasn't super crowded and traffic was not baf. Plenty to do outdoors for ages 1 to 100. Climate was perfect . And seeing tne deer and wild horses everywhere was magnificent.  The scenery was gorgeous and everything was easy to get to. I cant wait to go back. 

Summer 2021

We stayed in the Bear Bones cabin. It was my father and two of my children. The roads were pure ice and not treated at the cabins, the instructions to get to the cabin were vague and the cabins were not well marked. We finally found our cabin to find the steps were like ice slides. I spent 1.5 hours trying to get the ice off and I barely scratched the surface. The steps to the cabin should have been cleared as our cabin heat was turned on and cabin prepared. The cabin was fine for our family but every time we had to leave and come in we were scared. We all eventually fell down the glass like stairs. Iris at the front desk made everything better. I was so frustrated and she started making calls to answer my questions and got the steps cleared. She was awesome! She completely turned our stay around. I bought salt and salted the steps everyday and they were better. The cabin was fine. I was glad we brought extra blankets because it was so cold that the heater couldn’t keep up but that’s Mother Nature. A couple opportunities but not a bad cabin.

Fine

Nice place.  The staff is very friendly.  We had a wonderful stay.  The cabin we were in is small but nice.  The only issue we had is the heater and air conditioner were competing with each other.  We could not get the room cooler than 75 degrees.  The thermostat for the heater said it was off but it was still putting out heat.

Weekend get away

We stayed in their  smallest cabin but they have much larger ones that are nice too. It’s was very nice with microwave, refrigerator and tv. It was very clean and comfy, we would stay there again, and they take pets

Unique place to stay

Unit #2 was billed as a King Suite. It did have a comfortable bed but the "Suite" was not so sweet. There were several problems with doors, leaky sinks, and a TV from hell. On the bright side the wifi was strong and steady.  Unit #2 needs a lot of love to be competitive in the Ruidoso market. 

Tired and needing love

These are cute little cabins and very functional.  I had a 2 bedroom with a 3 total guests.  The couch was a fouton type so an extra person could easily be accommodated.  With the kitchen amenities, this is a plus.
