Good location. About 5 minutes from town. Staff was friendly and quick to resolve any issues. The only issue was mice (we didnt let staff know until after we left). Our friends stayed in a building that was 3 buildings down from us and they had mice too, so it might be a site issue. We saw several mice on different occasions. They were in the kitchen. We made sure to clean the kitchen every night, but we would still see and hear them exploring at night. The room is very outdated and some things were broken upon arrival (closet door, chair).  We're not too picky so we just dealt with the issues.

This condo was spacious and had a beautiful view off the back deck. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with utensils. An added bonus was the washer & dryer inside our unit. Will definitely book again

The view from the condos is spectacular in the evenings!  The condos are so roomy and large.  They are older units but are kept very nice.  The pool and hot tub are great at the end of the day. The area is away from the crowds and there are a lot of deer. We came to relax and it is perfect for having time away from stress.  We ate at Jorge's which serves great Mexican food and a lot of it!  The shopping is good and it is easy to find jewelry for any occasion.  White Sands is close and very beautiful. There are several churches in the area.  There is a Walmart and an Albertson's for groceries. Ruidoso is has been a favorite of my husband and I for many years.

We really enjoyed our stay at High Sierra! The sunsets were spectacular! The units are dated but accommodating. The wildlife are everywhere, some in the parking lot! Ruidoso has a lot of mountain village charm!

NIGHTMARE! WE CHECKED OUT ON THIRD DAY OF STAY. 
November 2023

Inside, the units look as though they haven't been maintained or updated for the past 15 - 20 years. Furnishings are pitiful and look to be the original.

We checked in on the weekend and were warmly greeted and welcomed by a woman named Stacey and another employee named Domonic. Such professional and capable people! 

On Monday, we met, Haley, the "Manager" of the property. This Haley person was oblivious to us and cared more about being "BOSS" than catering to her GUESTS!

My wife has a 7-pound emotional support dog. This was explained to Haley when reservations were made yet, she reacted to my wife as though she did not remember!
Something is definitely wrong with this person! 

We could not take anymore.

We dropped off the keys and returned home. 

NEVER AGAIN WOULD WE STAY AT HIGH SIERRA IN RUIDOSO!

We have come to High Sierra for the last 6 years.  We love the location and ease of check in. the units are always clean and also have washer and dryer.  The view of the mountains are great and the wildlife around the condos is great.  We saw deer, turkey, and elk.

Mountain High Sierra

With the exception of a few minor things, the stay was well worth the money. Check-in and parking were easy, the bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and the dining area was nice with a big sturdy wooden dining set. The upstairs bedroom has a very narrow and steep circular staircase leading up to it and it heats up more than the downstairs part. However, it has its own bathroom which is nice. The place was clean with the exception of the pull-out couch which had harbored some leftover chips, coins and dust. The furniture and amenities are outdated but functional. The views from the porch are absolutely breath-taking. The pool and hot tub area is nice, with the exception of the rotting wooden stairs right next to the hot tub. The big window yields nice views except for it was either dirty or fogged up and we could not see through it too well. Overall, a great stay! 

Great Bang for your Buck

While we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we also had a few concerns. 

I will start with the positives. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. We enjoyed the ping pong, the movies, and the puzzles. We enjoyed our first free fire log. AND we especially enjoyed the view from our windows.

Now for some negatives. The unit need a good cleaning when we arrived. There was butter and old food waste in the refrigerator. The dishes in the cabinets were wet. I hate to even say this, but unfortunately, I think there was mouse poop in the utensil drawer. The rooms were not vacuumed and there were small items on the carpets in the living room, bedrooms, and closets. 
There was NO broom. When we requested one, we were told some units had brooms, others did not, and ours was a unit that did not. Since there were many empty units, I question why someone couldn't just get a broom from another unit. But - alas, when we requested a broom from a different receptionist, VOILA - we got a broom! 

We had a couple of issues and the maintenance man arrived promptly and fixed them.

Overall, we had a wonderful trip and would probably come back.

Great Exterior View, Interior NEEDS Attention

We’ve stayed here before. Always love the view!  Our one bedroom was decent. The bed was so comfortable!! It’s nice to have a washer and dryer. The fireplace is nice also. The shower was very very good!  The only problem we had was old coffee grounds was still in coffee maker basket. And the kitchen wasn’t very stocked in regards to bowls and utensils. And the place was ver dusty.

The view is worth it!!

We had a 2 bedroom unit that was outdated and dirty but was very spacious and had a great view of the forest and mountains-A lot of deer roaming around-indoor heated pool and hot tub were nice and relaxing-about a 5-10 minute drive from downtown-
