What a great place to stay in Ruidoso! We stayed in a one bedroom, one bathroom, 2 person condo. We were on the second floor and faced the river (really more a stream).  The condo was very clean and the kitchen had updated appliances and everything we needed to cook. The unit was nicely furnished and the bed was comfortable. The unit felt very spacious and having a washer and dryer was so nice. The folks at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The unit was very quiet but due to the time we went (first week of January) the complex was not at all crowded. We have found the place we will stay each time we visit!

Wonderful Stay!

The Ruidoso River Resort exceeded all of our expectations. It is a very high-quality resort, and all the facilities are exactly what you would want for your visit. I felt as comfortable in the Rio Ponderosa as I do at home. The resort as well as our rooms were well-maintained and clean. The view of the morning Elk migration was amazing.

Amazing experience and well worth a visit anytime of the year.

Very clean and well maintained.  Very helpful staff.  Kitchen had plenty of utensils, dishes and cooking pots and pans.  Rules of the property are very reasonable requests. Provided coffee and tea.  Nothing more. Location is great if you want to walk into town for meals or shopping.  Nice to leave your car parked and not have to search for parking in town.  Many places were closed in town due to a early week visit.  It was not race season or ski season.  That has nothing to do with the property except we were pretty much alone .
Our unit was a two bedroom, two bath and it was very nice.  Maybe one of the nicest we have stayed in.  We did run out of hot water at bath time.  But that happens.  It was a nice stay.

Pleasant experience. Very Private

I was very uncertain about booking this property as I have had problems with condos in the past.  Very often the properties are not well maintained and there are always issues. We were pleasantly surprised by this property.  

It was completely as represented. Plenty of towels, soap, shampoo and an amazingly comfortable bed. It was the easiest check-in and check-out I have ever had.  You are given a code that starts working the day you check in. There is a staffed office should you need anything.  The grounds are beautiful and relaxing.  We have stayed in other properties in Ruidoso and this was by far the best. We did not cook, but it had a fully stocked kitchen with all the plates, pots and pans you could use.  There is even a washer and dryer with laundry soap available.  We will be back!!

A pleasant surprise!

We found the resort to be well kept and quiet.  Upon arrival, our unit was simple to find and access.  The outside appearance of the grounds and building was neat and beautiful.  Inside our unit, was perfect!  The bed was comfortable.  A TV in both the living room and bedroom was a nice surprise.  The kitchen was well stocked.  Having a washer and dryer was super nice as we did a lot of laundry so we didn’t have to pack and take so many clothes for our vacation.  We saw deer, elk and ducks outside our unit.  The balcony was comfortable and a nice bonus.

We stayed on the third floor facing the “river” (looks more like a creek).  I don’t think it would have mattered which direction or floor we would have stayed on, as I think all units would be quiet and comfortable.

The only complaint was the shower head.  It needed to changed out or adjustable.   But that is a small issue!

We are planning another trip to stay here!

Quiet and relaxing Home away from Home!

Wife and I stayed in the middle of the week.  Dinner shops were closed. But you can't ask for a better location. Condo was clean and stocked with everything we needed. We will visit again.  Hiking trails were closed due to recent fires. So there's much more to enjoy on our next trip.  

Great location in the center of the tourist area.  Very relaxing stay. 

We just came back from our 4th visit to Ruidoso NM and another stay at the Ruidoso River Resort.  I could make a long list of everything that is great there but I cannot make any list at all at what might be wrong.  This is the best place to stay in Ruidoso!!!

Best Complex Ever!

This is a beautiful property and just a short walk (a block or two) to main shopping area and restaurants.  Staff was very accommodating when we had questions. The room  (Ponderosa)  had everything we needed and was very clean and well furnished. If we ever go back, I think I will get a room on the backside (not by the river) because the river side was noisy - especially on the weekend when music is playing loud at outdoor brewery across the way.

Great Stay!

We could only stay one night during our road trip, but it was lovely.  We stayed at the Ruidosa River resort in the Dew Drop Inn.  It was so lovely inside that i could move in tomorrow and comfortably live there forever.  April is the time to go folks, as there are very few visitors to Ruidosa and no crowds and the weather was perfect.  The only downside was that some of the shops close for the month and the owners go on vacation and ready for the busy season which starts on May 27 when the racetrack opens.  The beds were so comfy.  There was a loud ticking clock in my bedroom and I had to chuck it into the closet in order to sleep but that was the only distraction.  We loved the blankets at the door and wrapped up when we sat on the patio in the evening with a glass of wine from the Loud Waters winery down the street.  We used the gas fireplace and it heated up the room.  Will go back again.  Our building did not have an elevator so if that is important to you, specify that when making reservations,  Also building 1 has a garden view and the others have a city/river view and the elevator, so just know before you go  Its a very short walk across the river to the main shopping Midtown area,


April is the time to go folks!

My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Ruidoso River Resort.  This was one of our best trips ever.  We love this facility for several reasons.  First, this property is perfectly maintained.  Our condo was in excellent condition and exceptionally clean.  The location is about 1 1/2 blocks from the MIdtown Shopping area.  I was able to walk to 
shopping while my husband was playing golf.  We will be back!
