This was a last minute stay due to an injury my husband had late at nite. He ended up at the ER in Russel next to the Quality Inn. The employees were so accommodating and understanding. They even held the breakfast over for him in the morning because he arrived so late from the ER room.  We couldn't ask for a better place. The room was nice, clean and comfortable.

Great place home away from home

Quiet and convenient property.  Clean room, comfy bed and pillows, cold fridge, fine tv and Internet.  The shower didn't offer very hot water, however. The coffee was a drawback.  None in the lobby in the afternoon, until I asked the desk clerk who fetched the leftover morning coffee from the breakfast room.  It was awful coffee.  I hoped for better at breakfast, but alas it was some weak brew even when fresh.  This might not trouble  some guests but it certainly diminished this Quality Inn for me.  The staff (seemed like all of one family) were very pleasant.  Apart from the coffee, I'd recommend.

Mostly a good hotel to overnight

We stayed a night on a long trip across I-70 with our dog. Not much to look at from the outside. But inside it’s clean, comfortable, quiet, and provides a good breakfast. We needed to walk next door on the other side of Pizza Hut for our dog to get grass to do his business.

Great value on I-70!

The front desk person was very nice, the lobby and rooms were very clean.  The bed was comfy.  Overall nice stay.  Only complaint was there was no proteins, eggs, sausage, etc. for breakfast.  They did have a waffle maker,  biscuits and gravy, cereal, etc.

The room was okay, acceptably clean, but the bathroom was small - just the shower/tub and the stool, with the sink separate across from the bathroom. That's convenient if two people are trying to get ready but it's not what we prefer. The breakfast area is very small; we had to take our food back to our room. The selection of food was not as good as we're used to. And the bad part - the "hot" food was lukewarm. All in all, not terrible but we wouldn't choose to stay there again.

Not a great experience

This place was a pleasant surprise. Our road trip took us to many hotels and this was one of the cleanest and most comfortable.  The staff did everything possible to make our stay super comfortable. Breakfast was very nice too -- a variety: eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, fruit,  bagels yogurt and cereal.

Super clean and fabulous customer service

Although it's older, the motel is very  clean and remodeled on the inside. The staff are so nice and helpful! I called late one night and they saved us a ground floor room, much to my kids delight. Breakfast was basic, but for a one night stop over this is perfect. Much better price than the Hays hotels.

Recommend for simple stop over

Move on down the road to Hays.  I’m not sure what all the good reviews are about. Maybe some people just don’t have high expectations. Our room was filthy, especially the bathroom. This place is very run down needs a complete overhaul. No one had dusted any of the surfaces for awhile. We had even  thought about not staying and trying to find another hotel but were just too tired. On a more positive note, the bed was comfortable and clean, and the room was quiet. We passed on breakfast.

Not so “Quality”

For a hotel of this caliber, I looked for cleanliness, no funky smells, hot water and does the toilet flush.  I think the water could be hotter but I didn't ding the review.  I think the hotel is managed by a family and they do an exceptional job.  The breakfast was way more than expected. We had cheese omelets, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, and fresh fruit.  Russell probably isn't a hot spot for a visit but it is roughly equidistant between KC and Denver.  To spite its locale it does seem to book up fast.  

Nice hotel if you need a halfway point to your destination

We stayed for one night while travelling through from St Louis to Denver. Really good value with breakfast included. Large room, comfy bed, clean. Close to I70 but far enough to not hear it! Free parking right outside. 
The guy at reception recommended somewhere close by to eat. 
Overall really good and way better than most motels we’ve stayed at on our road trip. Only slight disappointment was that the fitness room was closed, we had a lie in instead!
