This motel is in a good location for visiting St Augustine as it was only a short walk over the bridge to the centre. Also a few minutes drive to the lighthouse. This motel is a little dated in decor and the bright turquoise colour scheme doesn’t help. However, the motel was spotlessly clean with everything you need for a short stay. We enjoyed a good nights sleep in an area which seemed quiet at night. The staff were welcoming and showed us to the room. Don’t be put off by the two star rating …. it’s fine.

I hesitate to rave about this inn because I don’t want it to be unavailable in the future.

Perfect budget friendly accommodations

Great stay at the Historic Inn St. Augustine, the room was clean and to be honest I was pleasantly surprise everything about the room was perfect. Please to let those negatives reviews to influence your decision to stay here. Dimitri and Leah (I believe that her name) that run the hotel and pleasant and very accommodating. thank you for a great stay.

Best bang for your buck while in St. Augustine.

Our family was very happy with our 2 rooms.  The staff/owners are friendly, accommodating, and helpful.  The rooms were very clean and updated. It was all that we needed for our St. Augustine stay.  I would definitely stay here again.  It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but the care they have taken to make it a comfortable rest is obvious.

Comfortable, cute, and clean!

I am shocked this place has such a low rating.  They are remodeling and work people were there during the day so they are definitely making improvements.  We loved this Inn!  It was a short walk to the bridge and St Augustine, the place was super clean!  I love that they leave the windows open to get some fresh air but I would not like to arrive in the summer to a hot room.  

We arrived after dark and the owner did take us to our room, closed the window and blinds, turned on lights.  I love that special treatment, great customer service.  We were asked if we would like any water or more coffee.  The sheets were very soft and clean, the mattress was very comfortable but I would suggest they replace the box springs as they are squeaky.  There was a microwave and small frig.

We were starving after a 8 hour drive and the owner suggested three places.  There is a very upscale seafood restaurant across the street, a place that had grilled cheese sandwiches and another place.  He actually walked next door to see what time they closed.  We ended up at Sarbez (I will review them too) and OMG, the best grilled cheese sandwiches on the planet!  The Philly one is to die for!  This is a funky old Florida dive place so if you like to dress up and spend a lot of money, do not go to Sarbez.  It is located next door to the Inn. FYI the pool is very small.

We stayed in a 4 star hotel in Tampa two weeks prior and I would say this Inn had everything that we had in the 4 star except the high price.  Yes, there are things here and there that can be improved but for the price and location you cannot beat the Historic Inn.

A true Florida Inn.......updated

You need to stay here. It is an older place but someone has spent it is spending $$ to update. I read the reviews- the good, bad and ugly. We decided we’d stay. I’m glad we did. 
We booked through booking.com. After we checked in, the lady walked us down to own room, opened the door, closed the window, turned on the air, checked the room and bathroom, explained the remotes and TV, asked if she could get us anything, told us that it would take a little while for the room to cool down. She thanked us for coming. Told us to call for anything if we needed. I really enjoyed her attention. (There are some complaints in the reviews about this attention. I think these complainers would complain about anything, to be honest)
We had a king room (#108). The room was entirely clean, not a speck of dirt/dust on anything. It was hot in the room so we had to kill some time until it cooled off. We were gone as long as we wanted to be, came back and the room was cooked sufficiently. 
Yesterday, we hopped in the pool and it is a darling!  It’s a concrete The shallower end is 4ft with built in steps and the deeper end is 5ft with a ladder. Sparkling clean and cool enough. 
There was no noticeable street noise and no noise from neighboring rooms. The historic inn is located just over the bridge on Anastasia. If you’re so inclined to walk from the Inn back over to st Augustine, you can easily. 
Will stay again and I definitely recommend.

Inexpensive, not cheap.

This motel was fantastic. When we checked in, the owner offered to take one of our bags and showed us to our room. Once at our room, he made sure we were pleased and showed us how to use the TV remote. The motel looks to be recently remodeled, and they did a beautiful job! It was very cheery, clean and comfortable.

We came to St Augustine for a weekend trip. Chose this hotel due to,  1. Distance from historic downtown; 2. Cleanliness; 3. Price.  I read the most updated reviews and saw that all three of my needs were met.  Please disregard the old reviews; this hotel has had a huge makeover.  The rooms are simple but have everything needed. The beds were comfortable and the AC blew cold air. The bathroom was spotless (huge plus) and the towels were clean and of good quality.  The room comes with a microwave and a small fridge/freezer.  The Wi-Fi worked great- I am writing this with great signal. 
The walk to downtown was 10 minutes across Lions Bridge- yes we got stuck once when the draw bridge was activated but that gave us time to look at the fantastic views. 
All in all I would definitely stay here again.

Updated and improved hotel

A wonderful budget friendly option for St. Augustine! Very nice owner. Extremely clean room (and I’m particular when it comes to cleanliness). It was a great location and had free parking. No free breakfast but there was complimentary coffee/tea with brand new Keurig, microwave, and mini fridge. I highly recommend this location!
