Got lucky with a fabulous last minute rate on a room on the second floor which turned out to have a great ocean view and balcony.  Keep in mind this is a beach motel so not all fancy.  But it was clean and roomy, with a very comfortable bed, nice kitchenette and very clean bathroom.  I love the motel vibe and was very pleased with this one.

Nicely surprised!

I was overcharged for a room to begin with. The lobby was trashed and we were told we couldn't use it. This is where all the vending machines were. The telephone in the room did not work and the coffee was expired. The wall murals were lovely but the paint was peeling. There was a definate odor to the room and the ac temp was set to 75 and couldn't be changed. We checked in late and I didn't want to spoil my time with my grandson so we stayed.  We were so excited to see the motel as a Netflix movie was filmed there. The motel appears fun and darling with its Neon lights and fun motif but it was Old, smelly, and in need of some remodeling. So disappointed 😞. 

Old and rundown.

My cousins and I stayed here for one night this week. It is super cute and the front desk female employee is very friendly. Everything is clean and we loved having a separate little kitchen in our unit. I was really hoping to come back in summer but I see it costs over 100 dollars more then. I plan to come back in shoulder season for sure!

Awesome and unexpected 

The motel is within walking distance of the most beautiful beach I have ever been to, and there is also shopping within walking distance. There were two beds and one futon that could be used as a bed in our suite. It had a small kitchenette and very small bathroom. The beds and bedding were very nice, clean and comfortable and the bedrooms were cute. The bathrooms and the kitchenette was very worn, but we were told by the wonderful ladies that ran the hotel that they would be remodeled.

Excellent family or couple motel

A cute room with amazing ocean view, but in the damp environment the carpet should be pulled out and replaced with laminate flooring or tile. There was an overwhelming odor of strong disinfectant spray; luckily could open the sliding doors to the deck and air it out. I am petite, but even for me, the shower stall was a tight enclosure. In groom Jacuzzi was nice and clean, but the drain plug didn't have a tight fit.

We were here 7 years ago so for fun decided to bring our family back for a short visit. Neon lighting as magical at night as always . Rooms are very basic but the beds are comfortable and there is cooking facilities. Shame we have to ask for pots and pans and cutlery/plates were plastic and hot dog boxes. Tht let it down.

Kitsch two night stay for 10 people

Very clean and super friendly  staff. Very close to beach. Good cold air conditioner  and bed was comfortable. I would recommend  to give them a try if your looking for place to stay. There is plenty to do and see in the area. And noticed it looks like they are pet friendly. And don't forget great pictures like these

100 yards away from beach

This sweet retro motel is by far the best value you’ll find for St Augustine! We always stay here when we visit, and although you can’t see the beach like the surrounding hotels, this one is a fraction of the price and still only half a block from the beach. The staff is always so friendly and helpful, and it just wouldn’t be a trip to St Augustine without this nostalgic spot!

Always a pleasure

Magic Beach has been our go-to spot for many, many years. the previous owners were incredibly friendly, knew the guests by name & always made us feel welcomed. the new owners seem to be doing any & every thing to make it difficult to enjoy your stay. many of the room amenities have been removed & they won't allow you to choose a specific room any longer. (i've never encountered a hotel where you can't reserve a specific room. if it's available upon booking, it's available. ?? seems pretty basic to me.) you can request the size bed that you want, but then it's a gamble what you'll get when you arrive. such a shame, we live just a few hours away & used to vacation at MBM 6-8 times/year at least. we won't be back.

under new management & now a major disappointment

The desk clerk was very friendly and kind. She allowed us to check in a little early, which was awesome! 

I approve 100% of staying in this motel, but did initially experience an issue, which was quickly resolved.

Upon entry to the room, is smelled dank/musty and was very humid. (The room WAS cute, I'll give it that.) Turned AC down to the lowest temp and left the room for 3ish hours. Upon return the room was no cooler and still gross smelling and feeling. I reported to the clerk, who offered another room. I did ask that maintenance inspect the issue first, and he did immediately. Upon finding it could not be timely fixed, he asked if we wanted to move rooms. We were not upset at all (things happen) and gladly accepted the room move.

We moved to a handicap room (it was all that was available), and it was the (biggest), most cutest room with a perfect working AC, comfortable bed and pillows, big bathroom.  

We'll definitely stay here from here on out when we visit St Augustine, which is a few times a year.

OH YEAH! THE BEACH IS ONLY LIKE A BLOCK AWAY!!! How perfect is that? 

Also the motel has a clean pool.
