This hotel has a critical issue with cleanliness. Their staff of is among the least competent. The customer service is poor. The rooms have pest problems, and there is an overall feeling of insecurity. Additionally, they attempt to charge extra for spending more than 30 minutes in the hotel lobby, and if you want to check out early, they don’t refund the money.”



Terrible experience”

We reserved for a three night stay. When we got in they said we reserved a king/smoking when I actually reserved a queen double/non-smoking. Once in the room, one of the pillow cases was missing, and the refrigerator was not working. It was written in marker on the refrigerator itself. We only had two towels for our party of four. One of the sheets smelled like cigarettes the other like cologne both had holes in them that my 7 year old daughter could fit through. That night we were bitten by God knows what bug or insects that were in the sheets. When we ask them to change them out, they said they would, but never did. The next day we address it again and asked them to change the sheets they said they would but again did not by the time we came back to the room. But they did manage to take a second pillowcase. Again I talked to the front desk they gave me the two pillow cases some extra towels and some flat sheets for the bed. The following morning we spoke directly to housekeeping and they said they would change it for us they would change the blankets the comforters everything but we came back to the room at 9:00 p.m. there were no blankets, no flat sheets, no towels, no comforters. I address this with the front desk and they said they had no sheets they could give me. They then said they would throw some in the wash and bring them over to me. I went back twice and they were never ready finally at midnight they gave me two fleece blankets because the comforters were still in the washer. Our stay was amazingly terrible, and I hope to never experience this again at any place.

Amazingly terrible.

We booked a stay at HillView Inn in San Antonio, formerly known as Rodeway Inn, which we did not know at the time of booking. Pictures were deceiving as was the description which indicated access to a gold course. Upon arrival at 5:40pm, check in was 4pm, we were assigned a room that had not yet been cleaned. We were not told our room wasn’t ready. The property is old and could use a coat of paint, inside and out but that was not the real issue. The bathroom and vanity was still dirty with brown stains on the wall and water on the floor. There was used soap left in the bathtub and was trash left under the bed. We had somewhere to be so we left in a hurry. The absolute worst part occurred when we returned. The AC was loud and rattled all night long for minutes at a time. There was no one at the front desk therefore no one to complain to. None of us got any sleep because each time it turned off and on, it popped loudly. When we reported it in the morning the clerk at the front desk didn’t say much of anything and handed us a receipt reflecting a $10 credit. My full payment has already been processed and no credit shows. The property is affordable but I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Horrible experience, no what we expected at all.

Well I used points on Choice Hotels for a free stay on a quick trip to San Antonio. Non-Smoking room was most definitely used to smoke in. Lights by the bed were not only broken but seriously afraid to even try because the sockets were off exposing wires. Dirty walls . My son commented that the most expensive thing in the room was the toilet.  I know it’s Rodeway iInn and the lowest of the Choice Hotel chains but still a discredit to the chain. Needs some updates/clean up considering its high end / high traffic location. 

Needs updating 

Do not recommend to stay. It has a bed and shower which are ok. The breakfast would be better if they didn’t advertise they had one. It consisted of loaf bread and cereal. Which was fruit loops or cornflakes. Orange juice ( fake) and apple juice. Wish I had known.  So breakfast consisted of Wendy’s down the street. Ive stayed in literally hundred of hotels across the us and must say this is the worst. I’ve even stayed in $39 a night rooms with better breakfast. Trying to get a refund for tonight since I booked two nights, two rooms here but they will not let me! Well it’s on me for not doing my research. Live and learn.

Awefull

Room was well located for our trip and comfortable for the three of us. Night person was not very friendly. Breakfast was minimal with nothing hot. Booked a non smoking room that reeked of smoke as soon as the door was opened. Cigarette burns and rips in the comforter. Dirty ice bucket. No working shower. Bath was dirty with hair in places on the walls, tub and floors and no stopper. Dirty washcloth. Main light would not come back on after being turned off for several hours. Nail polish all on the shower curtain. Wish I had taken pictures....

Not well kept

I got in late from a long drive from NM, and, for whatever reason, this was the only property at hand with a room. The desk clerk was new, and so checking in took a while. But the room was quiet and clean, and it appeared to have been at least partially renovated. Reasonably priced rooms are sometimes hard to find in San Antonio in the summer, and those rooms often leave something to be desired. In this case, I got a good night's sleep and a modest breakfast at a reasonable price. If you are passing through San Antonio and need a place to sleep this isn't a bad choice.

Good Value for the Money

This quiet and clean motel sits along the frontage road to the I-10. It is quite a ways from downtown San Antonio. It is good enough for one night. It was hard to get to the entrance to drive in. We had to circle through a hilly neighborhood. Friendly staff and the motel it wasn't very busy. Maybe 10 cars in the parking lot overnight.  We found a great restaurant near by for dinner.

Good Enough for One Night

Anytime I travel, I bring my dog along. So I always call to ask about pet policies. When I called Rodeway Inn at Six Flags, the manager told me pets were allowed, and there would be a $10/day charge. When I get to the hotel to check in, I'm told that pets are not allowed!!! My only option is to cancel and find something quick at 9PM on a Friday night. So, I asked for a refund. I didn't even see the inside of the room, and I still get charged for the first day of the reservation. I wouldn't have even booked it if the manager hadn't lied about the pet policy!!!

We stayed at this hotel since our route to San Diego started here, the truth is that the hotel has a complicated access by a few buildings next door, the general service is good, the rooms with some details but within acceptable levels, it is a good option if you are travelling via the I10.
