Huge disappointment. This was a return trip and we were disappointed to find out there is no restaurant or bar on premises. The place was dreary and dead. Would have appreciated an upgrade to a lake view - now, the best thing about this place - given there were two cars in the parking lot.

Disappointingly drab

This lodge could not have a more beautiful location on huge Lake Pend Oreille!  This was our first time at Sandpoint and now we know why our daughter loved the area. 
Our room was bottom floor so we had a lovely patio which allowed us to walk across the grass to the table, lounges & dock right on the lakeside.  We will be back on another trip from N. CA.  Oh, and the service was outstanding too.  We do not recommend Forty One South, the restaurant next door.

Beautiful Lodge on the south shore of Lake Ponderay, near the bridge.

We were in Sandpoint looking at property.  Friends told us about The Lodge at Sandpoint.  Checking in the young lady had no personality and was not friendly at all.  Then the next night there was a man at the front desk and he was no better.  I sure was expecting much, much, more at least you can welcome your guests with a friendly smile.

The COVID breakfast was a joke!

In the room, there was an 80's tv with a VCR and DVD as part of the tv.  The only two good things about the room were the view/patio and the bed.  All the other amenities need updating.  The room looked like it was last updated in 1989.  

Lastly, the gym was closed and we go to Couer d' Alene and their gym is open?  Just don't know why they don't use common sense and let the guest mitigate any potential COVID problems with cleaning.  Such an easy fix!

No personality and poor service

If you want to eat in - great. 2 + miles for restaurants.
Covid breakfast at lodge - coffee/tea and a sweet roll.  No juice, fruit, yogurt.
Old stylish lodge appearance and feel.  Well done.
GREAT VIEW across the lake - biggest selling point.
Covid Multi night stay no room care - had to ask for fresh towels.
Pleasant staff.

A bit isolated

Glen and Leslie, Mary, Jen and Ranger (the dog) really made my sister, niece and I feel like we were staying with family. We enjoyed a beautiful boat ride with Glen, and were treated with above and beyond hospitality by Leslie and staff. Accommodations were perfect. Amazing view, clean rooms. Manicured landscaping, nice high quality lounge chairs, so much attention to detail. Nothing was overlooked. Highly recommend. We will be coming back.

Felt Like Staying with Family

The manager has no class, rude, lies, in front of my entire family. If they see a Range Rover, they will become greedy and makeup new rules. We had to cancel our trip and say goodbye before even seeing our friends. -My mother came in to help a Facility during COVID-19, and passed to help Washington instead due to this experience. The loss is to the family members in nursing homes there. - (We are White House/ State Department/ Military 3 Generation family members) and friends had described what happened, as nothing we have ever heard of in our decades traveling around the world. “This happened in America?” Yes, book somewhere else that will appreciate not just you as a customer, but as a human being. You’d think we were considered cattle. Find a boat rental and sit on the water and even go camping before this honestly. Not worth losing your time and money over. Unprofessional. True, no breakfast, and don’t ask for to many towels. Make sure to bring your own, and don’t plan to have your room, or dishes cleaned at this rate as well. We wouldn’t have mind, but they became very rude over needing towels. Then they started to make things up about our reservation and demand we have two rooms after staying one night, and even pushing constantly the $600 suite. It makes any other resort, in Vail, Aspen, Whitefish, or any other Mountain resort look like a dream.￼￼ GO TO WHITEFISH INSTEAD!

They broke my young daughters heart. Left early

Me and my two girlfriends had the absolute best time enjoying this beautiful property for two nights. We tried to book for another night, but it was reserved. We stayed in Suite 40 and it was just perfect! The owner even took us for a boat ride around the lake! Have nothing but praise to say about this place! We will definitely be back! 

Amazing Getaway

The lodge is beautiful.  Their photos don't do it justice.  Huge wooden beams.  Comfortable seating out on the huge main deck overlooking the lake.  Our room was on the lake as well and our large balcony was very private - no other room can see in.  I think every balcony is like that - they staggered the rooms to provide privacy.

The front desk staff were excellent.  We had a car issue and the place they recommended was great.  Recommended restaurants were great.  Recommended coffee place that grinds their own was great.

Loved the gas fireplace (it rained for most of the three days we were there).

In front of the lodge down by the lake is a large patio area with reclining chairs, and a small sandy beach, plus a swim dock anchored out in the lake.  Nice if it hadn't been raining.

Beautiful lodge and excellent staff!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay in the lakeside suite plus room. It was perfect for our family of 4, there was plenty of room! We were blessed with a complementary evening, that was a Christmas promotion the hotel was running; it truly was a nice place to stay. The view was spectacular, our room was incredibly clean and the beds were comfy. They provide a nice breakfast for the guests and the staff was nice. All in all - we will certainly be back and recommend this hotel! A HUGE credit to whoever is doing the laundry there - I have stayed in plenty of hotels and the towels at this lodge were the softest nicest hotel towels I've ever experienced.  
There were some things they could update: the televisions in the rooms are pretty dated - though we realize we weren't there to watch TV, but we did watch a couple movies as we wound down in the evening. The wifi didn't work, even with staff help, the entire 4 days we were there; if you have Verizon you will have zero problem with reception (we sadly didn't) but it was nice excuse to unplug for the weekend! My hubby and I slipped into our suites and robes to escape for a little hot tub time after we spent the day in the snow, only to be disappointed - the hot tub was not maintained (water was smelly and filled with grime, and it was low) they should just not have advertised they had one if it wasn't something anyone could enjoy. 
Even with those couple minor issues the place was truly a great experience, our whole family enjoyed our stay there.

Beautiful Lodge; we loved our stay!

It's a nice property in a beautiful setting. The lake view was great. The rooms are very nice but it must be the off season. Rooms weren't available because there wasn't anyone to clean them until the next day. The free breakfast had a lot of variety but not great quality and the milk was warm and had gone sour. The bathroom had double shower heads but you can only use one at a time.
