We had an incident Friday night.  A large diesel motorhome started its engine just before 11:00pm ( quiet time) I called the security # 3 times left 2 messages > No call back. Motorhome ran for 45 mins. and then left the campground. I called SAT. and spoke to desk person, left my # for a a manager to call back. NO body returned my call.

NO communication!!!!

Wanted to go see Lake Erie so took our camper and headed north. found this KOA located in the perfect location. 
Park was large, clean and pet friendly.  We visited many local restaurants and bars.  Fished everyday from various piers.

This review is based solely on our limited use of the campground. We were in town for a baseball tournament down the street at SportsForce Park, so we spent very limited time at the campground. The campground is less than one minute drive away from the sports complex! It is also less than a 10 minute drive to Cedar Point amusement park. We did not use any of the amenities during our visit, but I can tell you the staff was very friendly and accommodating.  We had an issue with our site upon arrival and they took care of it for us without hesitation.  
We travel with a 36ft TT and were in site 114.  The sites around us had plenty of room for large RVs plus plenty of room in between sites.  The  concrete pads with patio furniture were very nice.

Perfect location

Sadly decided to stop camping there at the end of last year. Loved the location to cedar point and all the amenities but management and employee children were never supervised and very poorly behaved. They would fight with other children and if anyone would go to tell on them say my family owns the place I can’t get in trouble. Watched two of the kids in a screaming and cussing match until another adult intervened to calm them down. Can be a nice campground but these specific kids made me uncomfortable and even when we picked sites by the park I did not feel comfortable letting my kids play there. Was told by others who stay all year these kids are a repeated problem but it will never change. The campground has a nice haunted trail around Halloween but these kids cut in front of everyone.

Unruly Entitled Kids

Well, as far as the appearance of the campround and ammeneties, i would give it more like a 3 out of 5. No hot tub, sadly. I didn't see volleyball court either. Bu it  has 2 pools. Little playground that definitely needs some updates. Jump pads, which kids love. Also, the section of the campground is on the water and near wildlife preserve. Also has a dog park, which didn't appear to have grass in it. And the area they have for you to walk your dogs to go to bathroom it has marshy green stagnant water, which my dogs would immediately want to go lay in (which we didn't bring them because they aren't the most well behaved yet). But a lot of dogs would want to investigate the water and either sniff it drink it lay in it etc. Not good.  Im sure they would get super sick if they drank it. And i cant imagine how bad they would smell after laying in it. The cabin we stayed in was nice we stayed in a deluxe cabin. Except when we first got here the first night went to shower and we were told everything was provided all the linens, and body care products etc. All the necessities.  Well i got shower their was body wash and a tiny less then ounce of 2 in one shampoo/conditioner and it was like using a bar of soap on my hair literally my hair fell out in handfulls when got out of shower, thats not even the complaint, i got in the shower and it had 3 compartments for shampoo conditioner and body wash. So we had just got back from the store, so when i got in the shower and realized they were empty, i was furious. then i found the tiny 2 in one stuff. So pay attention to that. Or ask before you come and / or bring your own stuff. Cuz it appeared they had everything, then came to realize they didn't but had tiny tiny samples that were supposed to be enough for up to 8 ppl. That was one of the most upsetting things.Also, there was no blow dryer, which to some ppl maybe not a big deal but we usually stay at the campground  at cedar point and all these things are provided. Another issue we had was  the first night we were here it was a Friday night memorial weekend, and quiet time is at 11. Well, at 1105, we got told to turn our music down, which wasn't loud at all. i tested it and walked to the next sites in all directions, and it couldn't be heard. Meanwhil,  the campground was pretty empty, or at least the cabins all around us were empty. Surprisingly, they are still empty, but im starting to understand why. Meanwhile, on the  website, it warns about some weekends. It's loud during bike week and people partying late into the night and some other stuff, warning ppl about it. And then warning ppl about the train that rolls thru on constant basis making all kinds of noise.  the traffic from the road is also pretty loud. But what was funny was we could hear notorious B.I.G. juicy playing the whole way across the cabin sites, which they were the furthest point from us blasting it for another hr and weren't told to turn it down. Guess they don't like dave matthews' band. ALSO bring some bleach spray cuz if staying in cabins cuz apparently they don't ever clean their ac units or the filters they are absolutely disgusting full of mold in every single ac unit it was so gross. I will say the location isnt bad your on the water or wildlife preserve area which is nice and the cabin was pretty clean. Its nice they provide a nice table and fire pit and grill. The price to me is kinda outrageous to me cuz we would rather spend the extra 50 a night to stay at the campground at cedar point. And you don't have to drive and everything is provided and its clean. And they dont complain if u play music after 11pm that is at a reasonable level.  If the price was lower then what we paid per night it would be worth it. But to me the rates are to high for the value of what u get. Definitely probably the worst koa ive ever been to and have been to a bunch. This one def needs some improvement in my opinion.

Stayed regularly the last couple years. Love the office staff but many of the staff driving around are not friendly. What I was told by people are employee sites often smelled horrible of marijuana and were obviously extremely intoxicated with other substances. Sadly we do not feel comfortable coming back. If staff is doing illegal substances who knows what else they are allowing inside the campground.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Could probably clean the bathrooms more often, but other then that great place to stay. Nice cabins, lots to do. 2 heated pools, fishing pond and jumping pillow. Kids loved the ice cream also.

Great place to stay

The campground was super clean and very accommodating. Loved the walking trail and playground for the kids. The morning staff was not super friendly or sociable. My biggest problem was at the playground, it is split and has an access path through it and one of the grounds staff pulled throughly fast and almost ran over my 1 year old who isn’t the best walker, I grabbed him quickly and the man looked at me as if I was in the wrong. No apology and he didnt slow down. Would not return if that is how the staff is going to treat families, especially in the family area.

Good and bad

We booked this last minute when other plans fell through. We got the last cabin available. It was a basic park model with 3 Bedrooms-1 with double bed, 1 full upper bunk, and one with lower full bed. The rooms were very small but each had nice closet/storage space. The outside was a little worn looking but inside looked like it had been updated recently including newer furniture and flooring. The cabin was very clean inside and well stocked with Kitchen dishes, appliances, and bedding etc. We had the basic 3 bedroom park model that had gravel driveway and very small firepit area in from of cabin that was right next to neighbors car. I noticed the deluxe style of same cabin came with paved patio, nicer furniture, and a lot more space for a little more money. These cabins are in different locations so I would recommend checking your location before booking. There are many different styles so take a good look before you choose. We didn't have any choice. We backed up to a car parking lot (they tell you this online which is nice). The staff were all very nice. They have 2 very clean pools. There is no shade available. Some tables with umbrellas would be nice. The playground was a little older but still nice. They have a air pillow that the kids love but I felt needed constant supervision but I rarely seen any staff there. They had sign saying parental waiver was needed and it was only open for few hours a day. However, it was open early morning until dark and no waivers were required. They have small fishing pond which is at quiet end of park with nice shaded areas. Also have nice nature trail and water front area. Also offer free train rides around park several times a day.  I think they could do alot better job with crowd control at pools and playground. Some of the kids were very rowdy and loud using constant foul language. It seemed like the only time staff were around was when parents called them. They have Cafe in the store but I thought prices were very high-$5 for pancakes (our usual KOA serves them free) $7 for a bisquit with gravy. Also felt nightly fees were higher that usual KOA's. Camp store is smaller that usual for most KOA's too.

Weekend trip with small children

We were very well pleased with our stay. Easy drive thru site for our 43’ RV.  All hook ups were nice and close. We were always greeted when entering the story and all staff was friendly.

The laundry room had 2 washers and dryers that worked as expected. 

Restrooms were clean and well maintained.
