All rooms surround pool. Brand new redone after Ian   Prices during this month were cheaper than others and directly across from beach   I highly recommend this place with owner on property and no additional charges per room. Laundry room, beach chairs and umbrella free to use. Nice bbq eating area beside a water stream. Limited to 6 rooms on property not allowing children or more than 2 to a room

Charming pleasant resort

Absolutely loved the hotel.  It is open, airy, clean, and convenient.  We had everything we needed.  And the community washer and dryer were absolutely a lifesaver!  The room was much bigger than a regular hotel room so we didn't feel so cramped.  I thought the directions for checking in were easy to follow.

Wonderful place - loved it!

My wife and I checked into the spacious Banyon unit yesterday for a three night stay.  We are so impressed!  The Sunshine Island Inn is very quaint and cozy.  The owners have done an amazing job rebuilding after the hurricane.  This place is spotless inside and out.  Everything is brand new and impeccably clean and tidy, including the pool area and grounds.  I highly recommend this place and will book it again on future Sanibel stays!

Simply Amazing!  Kudos to the Owners!

I canceled my trip last September after the island was hit by the hurricane. I asked for my fully refundable deposit to return to me. 
Terrible scam! The owners took my money 7 months before arrival and used it now they have nothing To return to me?
Avoid at all costs.!!!

I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS PLACE GOT 4 OUT OF 5 RATING!   NO HOT WATER AND NO WIFI, PLUS THE OUTSIDE SMELLS LIKE SEWER.  I SUGGEST YOU GO LOOK AT THIS PLACE BEFORE YOU BOOK,  DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, LOOK FOR YOURSELF.  Tired to call for to fix problem, but no answer!

I don't know how this place got 4 out of 5 rating,  No hot water and and no wifi and the outside smells like sewer water, don't take my word for it, but I suggest you look for yourself before you pay.

NO HOT WATER

I lived on the island for years and needed a place to stay for a few days to help out a family member who was moving. The reviews and pictures looked good so I booked the Castaway room. The room was clean and newly renovated but that is only positive thing I can say. The room had a bad smell, and was incredibly small. Shoebox small, the bathroom was tiny and I’m a small person. You could hardly move in the room. There was no place to put your folded clothes. The next issue was the mosquitos that seemed to multiply in my room. I have no idea how so many mosquitoes made their way into the room but each night I counted at least five. I didn’t not leave the door open or lights on! I woke up each morning with at least 3 bites! I ended up leaving early and sleeping on a friends couch! Please do yourself a favor for the cost of this room spend an extra $100 and book a condo at sandalfoot or the moorings! Very disappointed to spend $179 for a shoebox room with a bad smell and mosquitoes!

Disappointed

We stayed in bungalow Tropical Paradise, we liked the self check-in. And everything was clean.  Our bed was comfortable.  We are simple folks and we don’t need lots of bells and whistles.,  Sunshine island inn was prefect for us, it is very close to beach’s, lighthouse and lots of good Restaurants.  We rode our bikes everywhere and really enjoy it.  Just remember there are no street lights on island so riding at night time can be little challenging.. We Love Sanibel and will be back.

A little piece of Paradise 😎

Our first family trip to Sanibel Island has been made impressive by our stay at the Sunshine Island Inn. Meghan the Inn Manager was an excellent ambassador who single-handedly made the accommodations blissful. Unassuming property image, the venue far exceeded our expectations from arrival to departure to include parking and beach chairs. OMG!  Every amenity you could imagine was addressed, we felt like it was an extension of our home. Although congeniality wasn’t included in the package, Meghan’s customer focus increased the value. She was a source of dinning and social locations. Used to staying at the Hilton Properties the Sunshine Island Inn with all its features was well worth it. See you next year.

My Wife’s Birthday Celebration

My husband and I booked a last minute short stay in the Heron Hideaway and were very satisfied with our stay. The room is clean and nicely decorated. It has a small footprint but we were mostly looking for a place to sleep because we wanted to spend our time at the beach! Speaking of the beach, it is a short walk <5 minutes to having your toes in the water! Path is right across the street and the inn has wagons, beach chairs and towels to take to the beach. We liked being so close so we could come back to our room to use the bathroom or restock our cooler. The room itself looks like it has been updated from the photos on the Inn's website with a small wet bar, refrigerator, microwave, hot plate and dishes for 2. The bathroom is very small but was all we needed. I had seen a previous review noting water pressure issues with the shower in the Heron Hideaway but it seems this issue has been addressed as the shower had great water pressure and a nice tall showerhead that even my 6'6" husband approved of!

Everything you need at a great value!

We stayed in the Banyan bungalow for three nights.  It was very nice.  Clean and appeared to have been recently updated.  All new flooring, kitchen and bathrooms.  The bungalow was a one bedroom with a king bed (comfortable) and a queen sleeper sofa.  There were two full bathrooms.  One had a bathtub with shower and the other had a stand up shower, no tub.  Not directly on the beach but only a short walk to get there.  Parking for one car only  was right in front of the cottage.  Great relaxing stay and we would definitely stay here again.
