We stayed at Super 8 for 1 night whilst travelling from San Fran to LA. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk to the busy boardwalk which was lots of fun. The rides are quite expensive however we arrived after 5pm and all rides were only $1. Some long queues but the children loved it. I gave 4 stars as the breakfast in the morning was a little chaotic as it’s a ‘help yourself’ in the reception area which was a bit busy. Staff were friendly though and I would stay again if I was fortunate enough to repeat this trip!

Good location for boardwalk

Good place to stay not far from the boardwalk . Rooms were clean and tidy and the manager is very friendly and helpful , great guy . My only complaint is the pool needed cleaning , we were hoping to use it but it was full of leaves and few dead bugs .

Good place to stay

The outside does not look like the pictures so I was a little worried. Woman at front desk was so helpful. The room was surprisingly large. Had a fridge and microwave. It was a 5 minute walk to the boardwalk. The parking lot is tiny. We had to go into downtown and we were afraid to move our car. The woman at the front desk said she would move hers if there wasn’t a spot when we got back!!!  She was so nice !!  Thank you!

Pleasantly surprised. 

When I say "old school" I mean its an older property that was typical for its type when it was built. What this means is the rooms are smaller and not "modern" compared to something that was built within the last 5-10 years. However the 4 or 5 times we have stayed here it has been more than adequate for what we want and need which is: walking distance to everything including the boardwalk, downtown, the pier and decent restaurants and a place to sleep and take showers. Now if you consider what it costs to park around here on the weekends being able to walk where you want to go is a big deal so we take advantage of it. The only minor issue is the covered entry is too low for my truck with a rack so we have to enter from a back alley access which is fine if you know that in advance. All in all its a place that we are familiar with and will stay again when we are traveling in the area.

Good affordable "old school" hotel within easy walking distance of the boardwalk

Rooms are average for the older motels in the area, rooms are about the same price at this time of year, the staff is friendly and the rooms are clean.  I know my pillow cases and sheets were clean as I was walking into my room they were taking all the linen out. It is a short walk to the famous Boardwalk. Breakfast was included! Large waffles, juices, coffee, and other things to eat and drink. We did not go away hungry. It does have a pool. It also has cable and a refrigerator. We also had 2 queen beds

Clean, affordable and Walking Distance to the beach

Stains on sheets, very run down.  Pool dirty.  Just a nasty hotel.  Room dingy and hardly any towels.  Television barely worked. Mattress sags.  Would not recommend this establishment unless you want a subpar experience.

Nasty Hotel

The room was gross snd dirty. You couldn't walk on the floor without getting crap all over your feet. The sheets had stains, we had no towels, no toilet paper and they wouldn't give us an extra blanket. There was no cream or sugar for the coffee in the room and there were pee stains in the toilet. It was supposed to come with breakfast and again, nothing. I will never stay here again nor would I ever suggest anyone stay here either.

Gross

The Super 8 that is open is across the street from this torn down hotel.  That is why the pictures do not look like the hotel as some have mentioned.

If you look at the Trip Advisor map, you will see that this is Super 8 WEST and it WAS across the street from the Super 8 that is open as of August 2019.

This was the worst hotel I have stayed at woke up with pain full of mold stay away the staff did not want to help in the morning beware looks good from the outside but multiple rooms smell very strong of mold stay away
