THERE ARE NO SMOKE ALARMS IN THE ROOMS! Building was probably built in the 40's but all the rooms were just re-done. There is no excuse for the lack of smoke alarms! It was much better as the old Silver Saddle Motel. They have a security gate, but it opens for anyone not just the guests so this is worthless.

FIRE TRAP **** THERE ARE NO SMOKE ALARMS IN THE ROOMS!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary in February of 2024, we don’t live together and we do not own a dog. After a 6 hour drive back to Colorado they sent us a text saying they were going to charge the card on file 200$ because we had a “unclaimed dog” in the hotel room. This text was followed up with a picture they sent of a couple of small white hairs on the bed. We don’t own a dog but my parents (who I live with) own 3.  Two of which are malamutes and their hair gets caked in everything in the house including my clothing, suitcases and the car we drove. If you live with a dog that sheds a lot I don’t recommend staying here as if they find any sort of hair they will charge you 200$. I called and tried to sort everything out, asking them to check the cameras so they could see we didn’t bring a dog and after almost 48 hours I have yet to hear back from them.

Do not stay here if you live with dogs!

The happy hour is…amazing! Creative cocktails, great menu, really fun ambience, a treasure brought back to life with love by the new owners. Good central location, security gate, and who doesn’t want to stay in a cool retro route66 motel? Give it a go!

Wonderful and cool

The price increased too, from $79 per night to $125. They call the decor “bohemian desert style.” I like it, though I don’t know if that alone is worth $45 a night. The room didn’t have a lot of storage options but there was plenty of room to set things.

We booked the Silver Saddle Motel, which changed hands and is now The Mystic.

The Mystic Santa Fe is a picturesque gem, beautifully resurrected from the historic Silver Saddle Motel. Its delightful rooms, adorned with charming décor and comfy beds, offer a serene retreat. The customer service is superb, adding a touch of warmth to the stay. The restaurant's delectable cuisine is a delight, and Judy's mixology skills at the bar are truly enchanting. A real treat is their late-night opening on weekends, perfect for unwinding after exploring Santa Fe. Waking up to a snowy day, the breakfast was a culinary marvel—especially the remarkable Cottage Cheese Comeback Kid dish. A return visit is eagerly anticipated!

Great renovation to a historic gem 

We elected to stay there on a recent trip to Santa Fe. It looked great and the prices were reasonable. But...  In general, we thought the photos of the common areas were accurate, but not the rooms.  For example, in some of the photos it shows a coffee maker, and an adult size desk. Our room had neither.  And we found the room significantly smaller than the photos led us to believe.  On the plus side, the in-room Netflix was a very nice touch!

We have stayed here in the past and its always been clean, cute and staff amazing. The surrounding area is very "skid row" , i was happy they added a gate for secrity. Are biggest issues when there, every time, no wifi working. It just does not work, so the TVs in the room are more for decoration, because no wifi = No TV.... this visit, we were so happy. They added a restaurant and bar, beautiful outside area. We ate a few times at the restaurant and the food was good. Drinks could use some work, you can tell its not made by a seasoned bartender. They now host events which is a problem as its not a huge space. Our last night we coudnt even park on the property because all spots were taken for the wedding. We stayed up, just in fear of our call would be okay just parked outside the motel. Later we had to fight with attendees over a spot. What a mess. I would suggest assigning rooms-guests one spot per room. That way it dosent feel like the guests are less important than your events. And having "quiet hour" at 10pm, having the events/music stop, cool... but everyone right out your door leaving and cleaning up until 12 something. Ugh! I dont have plans on returning to Santa Fe,  as it seems to have lost a lot of its beauty or its beauty is covered up by all the homeless and drug addicts, but if i did i would no longer stay here as i know the guests are 2nd to the events. I do hope your restaurant well as they did a good job. Great job to your employees.

Events take priority over guests. Weak Wifi

We really enjoyed our stay at The Mystic. The updated rooms are cute, clean, and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful, even when we lost the key to the room and it was after 8 p.m. when the office closed. The staff replies quickly, even via text after hours! The courtyard is beautifully appointed with an array of plants and flowers and offers a great space for events. The cute camper on-site is slated to offer up drinks and snacks soon we heard, although no breakfast or food offerings were available during our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and the comforter was soft and cozy. Gated parking is available, although there is no code and any vehicle can enter. We stayed a full week and hope to reserve another week before the month is over. Thanks to the owners and staff who have made a great spot to stay on Cerillos and we will definitely be back.

Great place to stay! Friendly staff, updated rooms and great location.

Pros: decorated in cute boho style, comfortable bed, good water pressure in shower, very clean room, and really nice cleaning staff. The gated parking lot was nice, and helped us to feel our vehicle was safe.
Cons: The only mirror was a small one over the bathroom sink. The bathroom door was a great decoration, but not fully functional. As far as providing bathroom privacy, I'd compare it to hanging a blanket over the door way.  Poor lighting. The Coffee pot was inside the clothes hanging area. We had to move the coffee pot to hang all of our clothes. There was a beautiful little sitting area behind a locked gate, but was not open to motel guests. The on grounds restaurant was also closed.
All in all, this is a cute, clean place, just not quite worth what we paid to stay there.

The decorations are cute (the furniture was not always practical or usable), but that was basically it. I went with a few friends (5 total) and we are all considered "lovely to have". The outdoor area with the firepit and other cute designs were rarely open when we were there (weekend). We asked what the times were and the staff literally said "I don't know". It was open in the evening around 9pm so we went and sat by the fire. 15 minutes after, a staff member came out and told us it's actually closed. Again, we asked what time they are open, and they said they are testing out the hours and so they don't know. I think for a firepit, 9pm is not unreasonable. We went to the room and then my friend realized she left something down at the pit. We went back and it was gone. We asked the staff person who was still there if she saw it and she said no. This was very fishy because there's nowhere else it could've gone. We asked the next morning if they found anything at the pit and the answer was again no. Afterward, we went to our room and hung out there. None of us are considered loud people, but we were laughing and talking. We did not think at all that our volume was too unreasonable. At around 11:30pm, we got a voicemail that was incredibly rude. The gist of it said that we were being way too loud and that several people have already complained. If we continue to be loud or got another complaint, they would have the police escort us out. This was shocking that 1. they told us after several people complained- we would've been quiet the moment we were told after the first complaint. But they decided to wait until they got a few more complaints which wasn't fair to us or the other guests. 2. the first warning for us to be quiet included a threat to call the police. We texted them back to apologize and said we were unaware (of how loud we were being) and the text back was very rude. We were very upset and offended by how they dealt with the problem and the way we were spoken to. It seems like it's advertised for young adults, especially with the cocktail bar, but it really is for those who want a quiet and quaint place to stay. Overall, the staff is unprofessional at best.
