I booked casita J for my mom and brother who were in Santa Fe to visit family.  I selected the wrong dates and input the wrong email.  Mary Ann worked with me to fix the dates and then moved them to casita A (slight upgrade).  

They both loved the place and location.  They were able to walk for coffee and lunch.  There was space to relax on the patio.

Overall, very happy to have found a cute, reasonably priced alternative to some of the hotels in town when we visit family.  Bonus - dogs are allowed.

Cute, reasonable alternative to hotels

We've always stayed in traditional hotels.  On a recent trip to Santa Fe we decided to try a casita so that we could be walking distance to Old Town.  We are a family of three that recently stayed in "Sheri's Place."  Great experience all around.  Clean accommodations, comfortable beds, private off street parking, and clear instructions for parking and accessing the unit.  The interior was charming with washer, dryer, private patio, 2 beds and 2 baths, and plenty of space to relax.  There is a Sprouts nearby to pick up food for breakfast, etc.  There are also several great walking distance restaurants. Property owners were quick to respond when we inquired about the wildfires.  

Only comments to make are that the larger of the two bedrooms needs luggage racks and a USB hub to make phone charging easier.  The cleaning crew should address what looked like a little mold  in the shower in the smaller bathroom.

Our unit was on Park Ave so there was minimal traffic noise at night (Guadalupe is a fairly busy road).. We would definitely stay there again when in SF.

Why hadn't we done this before?

We stayed at the sister casita located a few doors down and loved it. The accommodations were great, with full kitchen, all the amenities and a little private patio. The location was in a very convenient area, close to local restaurants and a few blocks walking distance to the square. 

Wonderful accommodations

Casita H is located about 6-7 blocks from the Plaza, an easy walk.  The facility worked very well for two couples, with two bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom.  The kitchen was well set up for breakfast.  There was a washing machine in the Casita as well.  Overall, it was a very clean and comfortable place to stay in Santa Fe.  We are two couples in our 70s.

While the location is great for walking to the old town, the Casita I is unlivable.  We were 3 people and I can't imagine having 4 in here.  The living room is so tiny you can barely open the front door without moving the couch.  Speaking of the couch, it is literally a back breaker - so old and broken down it takes multiple pillows to use.  Overall the place is dirty (see my photos of my new white slippers, walked from the bedroom to the kitchen and the soles were already filthy, and pic of the kitchen pots/pans - no way I'm cooking on this pile of junk).  For the price of this dump, we could have stayed in a nice B&B or even a hotel room since we couldn't cook in the filthy kitchen.

Castia I is awful

First off, the location is excellent — we were able to walk virtually everywhere. Plus, easy access to highway for day trips to hike. Parking was easy, but heed the warning to lock your cars. We inadvertently forgot one night and our car was broken into. The manager was very kind in calling before our stay to check in and answer any questions. She also allowed us to check in early which was appreciated. We were in Casita H and appreciated having a washing machine and dryer in our unit. All of this said, I was most disappointed by the lack of cleanliness. Counters had crumbs and sheets had hair on them. It was very disconcerting. Overall, the unit was cramped as well as dated. It could benefit from some upkeep of floors, bathrooms, and beds. 

Great location, but not what I’d hoped for overall

We rented a two bed / two bath casita.  The unit was clean and had a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room.  Walk to plaza, shopping, restaurants, art galleries.
Good value and convenience.

Nice location and amenities

Our family of 4 (3 adults and a teen) stayed in Casita E earlier this month.  I really wanted to love it and indeed, everything was ok, but I can't say it was great.

The owner / manager was very kind and responsive as she worked to (successfully) resolve the malfunctioning TV.  The unit also had air conditioning which we really appreciated.  But there were a handful of other notable factors that made our stay less than ideal:  the unit was quite small, especially the DR / LR area, and the furniture was over-sized so we were constantly dodging each other and the furniture to move around the cramped space.  Also, I really knocked and bruised my hip on the upstairs bed foot-board trying to get to the bathroom late one night.  That could have happened anywhere but the risk was higher here since the bed frame was just too big for the small bedroom -- it was harder to get around it in the darkness.  

There were no shampoo or soaps provided so we had to buy some.  

There is a pull-out single bed upstairs but the mattress was very thin so the coils telegraphed thru.  Our 15 yo slept poorly and complained of a very sore back after our 2 nights.  It might work for a young child but I wouldn't rely upon that bed for anyone older / bigger.
