My wife and I booked 2 rooms so we could invite my son and his GF. Rooms were clean and smelled that way. Bed was very comfortable. Beach was right there. This is a 2 star hotel so if a small chip in the drywall bothers you, dont go. Parking was very tight. Any small issues were made up for by the maid who found my lost pillow. Thank you Sylvia!!! Will be back im sure my son loved it as much as we did. Walk to the circle was easy and enjoyable.

Disgusting. I am posting with other pictures because when my husband uploaded the pics on his review it did not upload. See for yourself the pictures we took. I don’t even need to use words to describe the stay there. Had to pick my mom up and take her to Limetree Resort because she was coughing and the General Manager was super rude to her.

Mold, bugs, built up grime, ants, paint and drywall falling apart. Check pics for what I wiped from the tables. ALL for $350 a night. General Manager rude and completely dismissed all. Included proof of stay. Disgusted and appalled so I left, and went to Limetree Beach Resort next door. Check my pictures.

October is the best time of year for Sarasota Sunsets. What an amazing weekend at Coquina. Old Florida vibe, the smell of Smokey brisket, short ribs, and chicken in the air. Add some stone crabs.  Magic!  Long, sandy beaches, and the most memorial sunset I’ve seen. Bring your bathing suits, your cooler, and a radio - you are in for an amazing show.

Best Sunset in Sarasota

I am responding to the 2020 review which is not our experience at all!  We have been going to Coquina for more than 20 years.  Yes, it is "outdated" some may say but we love it because it is more of a family owned (not big hotel chain).  Everyone from the front office to the maintenance people to the cleaning staff to Tom have always been friendly and welcoming to all.  The cleaning staff have been with them for years and welcome us back always.  Have we had any issues?  Of course.  We had a water leak and it was fixed within hours of our reporting it.  I have never found anyone displaying any prejudice.  One year, the beach was being worked on but not something them can control.  We have had friends join us.  So I had to respond.

Inclusive and Caring Place

Perfect place for a solo, couple, or family retreat. The heated pool is surrounded by beautiful palm trees.  There are hammocks on the property perfect for reading a book or an afternoon siesta.  The rooms have their own kitchen (fridge, oven, microwave) so you don't have to depend on take out or leaving the island of Lido Key. There are grills and picnic tables available for cooking out. The white sand beach is perfect with chairs, umbrellas, and  a gazebo provided. This is the only pet friendly hotel on the island. On my last day there, I ran out of poop bags for my dog and the front desk was happy to provide me with more. Everyone I met on the staff were super friendly and happy to help me.

A home away from home! Beautiful beach front oasis.

We stayed here in 2018 and loved it.  Nice family place amazing beach  but this time they are doing beach restoration.  They did not let us know when we booked or even we checked in.  We got un packed and went to the beach and was heart broken.  The room rate is very high to not even have a beach to enjoy.  Very disappointed.

I had the worst experience of my life in this place right here! As Latinos we wake up everyday wondering when will the next discrimination be! How are we going to get treated today? We are a hard working family, humble and decent! We treat others how we wanted to be treated! We are kind and we don’t judge anyone!! All we wanted was to have a good time in family! I personally called the resort to make the reservation over the phone, I wanted to get a private patio room closed to the pool and beach, I got the confirmation via email confirming the accommodation. We we arrived at the resort the room I was giving had nothing to do with what I paid for! They give me the room next to the front desk with no patio just 2 chairs on the hallway next to the office door all the way in the front approximately 170 yards from the pool! The room was unhygienic, smelled like cigarettes, had stains all over the carpets, even ants! Room 100! I kindly asked Skyler the front desk representative for the room I pay for, she had the audacity to tell me that I pay for a “non-view” and they had 1 room available but only for one night because the next day some white family had it reserved! 🤬😡 I asked one more time kindly to get upgraded to that room even if I HAD TO PAY MORE! She refused to make it happen because of the WHITE FAMILY! Me and my cousin Nai G Rodríguez asked her kindly to speak to a supervisor, she started texting and ignored us for a good 5 min! We asked once again to speak to a manager and she told us without looking at us just looking at her phone like we were nothing 🗑 that her manager refused to talked to us and she was going to refund us the money to get out of there!! We told her to not process the refund because we had other family members staying there and we wanted to be in family! Not only that the money does not goes back to the account right away, there was no available hotels in the area, that we traveled 2 hours to get there and we had babies! She ignored everything and had no compassion refunded our money and threaten us with calling the police like we where harassing her! Since when fighting for your rights and trying to get what you pay for is a crime? All we wanted was a little get away from all the Covid-19 stress and work! Yes we are Latinos and we are not ashamed! As Latinos we don’t discriminate and we definitely don’t go around trying to screw peoples life! We will never make anyone feel offended for who they’re! We don’t look at race or colors! How sad is to be living in 2020 and having to deal with this types of customer service! As a mother It will destroy me if I see my child with Skyler attitude! She only showed us lack of education! Lack of communication! Lack of respect! However, they erased all the reviews like nothing happened! They reported my account to silence the truth like if all the harassment wasn’t enough!! No body deserve to feel the way we did!!! Please help me stop the abuse towards Hispanics!!

Be aware of Staff lack of respect and racism WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

I do not recommend this hotel. They have the worst is the customer service I have ever seen, they are racists and don't welcome latinos.
apart from that the rooms are small, not comfortable, and not clean. I will never come back.

Not clean, small rooms, staff unfriendly

We have stayed here several times over the past 30 years. The location can’t be beat, and if you like traveling with a pet they are a good choice, however, the poolside ground floor room we stayed in was in need of something, or everything. At first glance it just looked dated and in need of new furnishings, but the longer we were in the room we noticed the drywall was falling apart, ants in the bathroom counter, musty smell from A/C and a huge roach that my husband killed and did not tell me about until we were on our way out the door thankfully! I understand that ground floor rooms flood from time to time, but new drywall, fresh coat of paint, and some new furniture would do this place wonders. Also parking here is definitely limited. On the upside, the staff we encountered were nice.
