We spent the night in July and again in October. The king rooms are quiet, spacious and clean. Beds are super comfortable. Close to town. The owner makes your stay extra nice by leaving snacks and water for your use. Will definitely stay again.

Comfortable and spacious

Stayed only one night. Room was very clean and had little personal touches. It would be a great place to stay when exploring Schroon Lake. It was also very reasonably priced. I would stay there again.

Great Layover Stay

Clean and comfortable rooms with a great mini fridge and microwave.  Appreciated the room as we showed up late unexpectedly needing a room in a pinch.  Customer Service was prompt and polite. Would stay again for sure.

Last minute room.

2 of us stayed in the “deluxe” cabin. It was cute but we had no heat and no hot water. There were dead bugs on the floor and the floor felt like it had not been swept in a while. The Keurig was broken and we had no hot coffee in the am. The bed was hard and full of springs. I will say the owner stopped by because of the no heat issue and did offer another room, which we declined not knowing we would have no hot water or coffee in the am. Owner also said he would drop off a space heater and never came back, or we had went to sleep by the time he did show up. I would not go back, but it is a cute area.

What a find!  I have spent way more for places not nearly as nice!  Newly renovated.  Above and beyond service!  Can’t recall the last time a maid came by daily to empty trash, make beds, provide new towels and even coffee pods and real cream!!  Lovely pool, fire pit, gas grill and picnic tables.  Two Adirondack chairs and a table right outside your door and can park right in front.  
    Ignore earlier reviews before recent new ownership.  The room has kitchenette with microwave, Keurig machine, sink and refrigerator and even a toaster!   Nice large chest of drawers, high top table with two seats, TV, windows on both sides for cross breeze.  Walk in shower, great towels and a hair dryer.  
    Close to all the sites!  It is family run so not always staffed but accessible always by phone.  Can’t believe I saw Cassie, a staff member drive up at 0700, picked up towels and took them to a room!  They had called her at midnight at her home. Unbelievable!!

You won’t find a better place to stay while exploring the Adirondacks!  Highly recommend it!

Amazing! Cozy and well appointed with retro brand new appliances and welcoming decor.  A must visit and a beautiful stay.  New owner has made the place like new.  Spacious rooms, and a brisk walk to the town and lake.

Cozy Cottage Lake Schroon

Had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Maple Leaf this past weekend. Place was super charming and the new owner has done an excellent job renovating the property. Our room in the main house was very large, comfy, clean and tastefully decorated. It even had the cutest retro appliances in kitchen! The staff was warm and extremely helpful and we even met the owner and his wife who were delightful and we could tell that the place was a labor of love. Motel was a nice exercise type of walk to the center of town and the gorgeous lake. Lots of nice shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!

GREAT PLACE IN SCHROON!

My wife and I stayed 1 night, arriving before 3PM. The owner quickly processed the card payment and issued the key. I backed the car to #104, a very spacious and carpeted room with a king bed, a low drawer unit to hold our suitcase, small wall TV(no channel guide), table and 2 chairs, coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator, easy chair, and large fully outfitted bathroom with shower(active ventilation). 
The secure room WIFI was good but the loud wall AC was directed toward the bed pillows. 
This old style 14 room roadside motel has some road noise but is clean and in decent condition and offers in season value at $106/night.

Rick, the owner was extremely accommodating from the moment I booked my reservation. His rates are the best in town. There's a small swimming pool on the grounds and a bonfire pit. Rooms are adequate and spacious with amenities such as microwave oven, refrigerator, flat screen, and coffee pots. Maple Leaf Motel is in a peaceful location about a mile and a half from the center of town. Nearby is the Mount Severence Hiking Trail. My friend and I felt very welcome here. Rick the owner has a lot of integrity. He's a kind man who does a very good job running his motel. A very good place to stay in the heart of the Adirondack region of Schroon Lake.

Great Motel in a peaceful environment, Wonderful Owner!

The owner was a scum bag. Had a family emergency and was charged for the night even though I didn’t sleep there. I left at 3:30 for a family emergency and the owner wouldn’t work with me. The motel was vacant in most of the rooms and he said the room was worthless and he couldn’t sell it even though there was 10 rooms left. I would never go here again and would rather stay anywhere else. I recommend you stay far away from this place as I will for the rest of my like.
