The Wave Walker is off of the beaten path at the end of the Surry peninsula- midway between Ellsworth and Blue Hill. The view across the bay is terrific with a full panorama of Acadia and Cadillac Mountain. This is a destination B&B with chairs on the lawn, balconies, and wonderful hosts. Breakfast should hold anyone for a day or two with homemade muffins,coffee cakes, lobster crepes, blueberry french toast, and more. There is a local lobster restaurant for eat-in or take-out close by. Other restaurant options are available in Ellsworth and/or Blue Hill. Worth the extra miles for a wonderful escape. Outstanding B&B in a idilllic location

Donna and Phil are so nice and welcoming and helpful. The accommodations and very clean and comfortable and the view is absolutely beautiful. The homemade three-course breakfast we had on the deck is absolutely amazing - literally the best and most fulfilling breakfast I’ve ever eaten. Even food that I normally dislike tasted wonderful. Donna’s blueberry muffins made from the blueberries that they grew are a favorite. The view at night is absolutely beautiful as well.

Amazing Place!!!

We have been to a number of bed and breakfasts in various states, and without a doubt, Wave Walker is unique and extraordinary.  The attention to detail that Phil and Donna have done in every aspect of the house is admirable. Let me name some of these details: the amazing multi-shower heads in addition to the jacuzzi, fresh fruits, water bottles, wine accessories, chocolates, fresh floral arrangements, and tea candles. There's also the sleep number bed. Donna and Phil were warm hosts-welcoming and informative. Not only did we enjoy the view of the bay and Mount Desert Island, we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfasts. There were wild blueberries available every day, and we even learned how these fruits travel from the ground to their kitchen.  Quite interesting!

Escape to Tranquility 

Being blessed to see many parts of the U.S. and the world, my wife and I can both say Wave Walker B&B has been the most enjoyable and serene accommodation we have ever stayed, "hands down".  Innkeepers Donna and Phil have been able to take the gorgeous views that come from the location of the property and create a B&B experience that is peaceful, quiet and most of all, fun!  Having coffee every morning on the dock, walking the shoreline to eating the best breakfasts ever before hiking in Acadia or utilizing the kayaks on the property made this a great experience for us.  Every small detail was accounted for.  

Our room was spotless, spacious and allowed for the cool breezes to come in every night.  From other posts you will see people mention the breakfasts...the only thing we will say is #DA'BOMB!!

Thanks again Donna and Phil!  We will be back next year.

"What we always thought Maine would be like"

Phil and Donna facilitated a superior visit to Acadia from my first phone call, to the packaged frittata on our last morning, so we could make an early morning National Park program. In between, we picked up lobster rolls at Perry’s, about 5 minutes from the B&B, 
and dined  on their moonlit patio overlooking the Western Bay. Prior to our feast we had complementary cheese and crackers and fresh fruit they provided in our mini refrigerator. 
The next morning we awoke to the smell of fresh baked muffins. They accompanied an apple pie smoothie, Maine blueberry stuffed French toast, and a fruit bowl with a delicious glaze. Phil offered suggestions and maps for the day’s activities as it was going to rain. As the skies were clearing  in the late afternoon, we returned from a wet but productive day in the park. We ate lobster in Thurston’s at lunch so we grabbed a cold portable meal and a bottle of wine at Hannaford’s in Ellsworth and dined under the star on our private balcony, mesmerized by the view and the SILENCE afforded us by the secluded location. The rest of our time there was just as spectacular. The morning after we left I asked, “what do you think Donna is making  for breakfast today?”

PERFECT MAINE VACATION

You'll find peace and quiet among the stunning views of sea, sky and mountains at Wave Walker!   Donna and Phil are hardworking and excellent hosts, available to answer questions, yet allow you the freedom to feel at home in theirs.  The breakfast is delicious from the smoothie to the muffins to the pancakes or lobster omelet!  Donna is a fantastic cook! You will not leave hungry.  
We enjoyed a fire one evening while watching the milky way and the shooting stars. Heavenly!!!  We ventured to Acadia National Park one day, only to hurry back to Wave Walker to take a swim and a nap on the dock.  The only reason to leave is for dinner at the lobster shack a few miles down the road! Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed with a small refrigerator and microwave. Our room had fresh fruit, chocolates and crackers and cheese.  Donna and Phil have really paid attention to detail and to guest's comfort and needs. Our room had a window seat/bed that welcomes you to sit and look out as well as it's own small deck.  This is a very special place and we hope to return soon.

Innkeepers Donna and Phil have created a wonderful guest experience through careful attention to every detail. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, each enjoying a private bath with all the guest amenities that one could desire and a private balcony. The location is drop-dead gorgeous and features incompatible east-facing views to Mt. Desert island. And the three-course breakfast is beyond fabulous!  When was the last time you enjoyed a lobster omelette for breakfast?!  Wonderful hospitality, location, accommodations and food will leave you looking for ways to extend your stay or promising to come back again!
