The room was not very clean.The carpet was badly stained and not vacuumed with dead bugs.Cobwebs in the corners and over doorways.It was not at all as pictured. I did notice the room next door looked to be renovated but I am not sure if we we’re given this room because we booked through Expedia.The front desk lady was nice

My husband and I chose this hotel because they have King size beds. None of the other hotel/motels did. I'm a plus size lady and I like my space, which is hard in a Full size bed. 
The owner greeted me at the door and was so very nice and helpful. The room was clean but only had one outlet to charge our phones on.  
They have been working hard at bringing this hotel back to life after it had been abandoned for a few years. I will definitely be staying at the Romney Hotel again!

Comfortable Older Hotel w/new name: Romney Hotel

We took shelter at this establishment after being nearly stranded on a cold winter’s night. It was the first snow of the year and we just weren’t prepared for what was ahead. But little did we know, this splendid, quaint was a wonderful reprieve after our journey. 

The staff was accommodating, friendly, and helpful. We felt extremely looked after and almost like we found our desert home. The room was clean, orderly, and quiet. It had a fridge, microwave, and the hottest water you could ask for. There was a heater (THANKFULLY, because as we said it was a cold winter’s night) and an air conditioner. ALSO, wifi! 

The staff directed us to several restaurants near by and we had a great pizza  dinner. 

Highly recommend this motel for your next trip in town.

An Oasis Amongst a Blizzard

I had a confirmed booking to this hotel through Hotels.com. When I arrived to the place (at about 18:45) the hotel manager refused to honor the confirmed booking price and demanded additional charge (about $20).  He acknowledged there was a confirmed booking under my name but refused to give me a room unless I pay extra. When I demanded he either gives me a room or refund the prepaid reservation, he refused to refund as well. It was only a week later and with the help of hotels.com that we was willing to refund the reservation. 
I’m definitely not coming back to this hotel, ever. 
The hotel, btw, goes under a few separate names: seligman Route 66 hotel, Romney motel and oyo. Beware. 

Scam. Be careful!

We were booked into this motel for Friday 04th October and had received two seperate confirmations of the booking but, when I rang to inform them we were running late they had no booking for us. They told us it was for the following night and not the night booked.

We had to find a room for the night at 10.30 pm, luckily we did, however as senior citizens I am not happy telling my 67 year old wife that she might have to sleep in the car. I have since been informed that the management is in the process of changing, that they have slashed their rates to get occupancy and that I am not the first to have this problem. Avoid this motel like it has the plague, do NOT book with them.

Cancelled booking without notice.

Lady at desk was friendly, room was definitely in need of repairs but at least it was clean and smelled good. Toilet said it had been sanitized but there were some odd body fluid "deposits" on the toilet seat. Overall, a safe stop for the night. Would stay again if passing through

It was OK

Nothing special but it worked for the night.  It had a bed, bath, fridge and tv.  It was all I really needed.  I didn't hear any noise from the neighbors.  I would book again because it was cheaper than the Supai.

Alright

The Romney Motel is located on Rt. 66 and I-40.  The Motel is a throwback to a 1950s-1960's drive-in motel.  This is not a fancy hotel but the beds are comfortable and meeting the owner-operators make it worth it.  The front desk receptionist will provide you local info on the best places to dine (including restaurants with a Romney Hotel Discount) and things to do.  Seligman is an interesting town worth exploring. It is 45 min from Williams.  Lilo's Restaurant is a real treat.  We had some trouble with the WiFi but enjoyed the hot coffee at the Motel office in the morning.  If you must have a fancy modern Motel/Hotel, the Romney Hotel is not for you.  If you would like a taste of local life with a personal touch, try the Romney.  We really appreciated the Veteran's Discount.

Noisy room, no cold water in the shower. There is no coffee maker and the bed was very lumpy & made as much noise as the band that played until 1:00 AM. The ice machine was great and that is a plus. The Television had no sound either. 

What do you mean that a loud band plays right next door?

The lady that checked me in was very nice.  She offered suggestions for dinner and breakfast.  The room was fine.  It could use a couple plug in's and the internet was a little slow but it's a nice place to stay.
