Homey, friendly, rustic stay right in the park! Could not have asked for a more convenient location to both parks. The staff is the Best!!! So friendly and accommodating. Comfy beds, great, home cooked breakfast. Market has everything you need and gas station on the property. Great value for you buck. Thank you Dawns and Matt !!! 

Friendly, convenient stay!!!

First - the setting. You are surrounded by the magnificent trees of the Sequoia. Then a River, the South Fork of the Roaring River, cascades in front of the Lodge. You can enjoy the sight & sound in the comfortable lounging chairs found on 2 porches & by the River side. The room is what one would expect in a lodge at the End of the Road in a National Park. It is small, but comfortable & with whatever you would need. The staff are amazing. During covid time, they are really busy, but always have time to assist you. Because of covid, food choices are limited. Hot sandwiches were tasty & filling. There is a market in the Lodge. Well worth one’s visit!

What a delightful lodge!

We stayed in the room for handicapped persons.  While none in our party are handicapped, I think we got this room because it was the only one left since we checked in very late in the day.  With that being said, I cannot comment on the size of the regular rooms, the handicapped bedroom and bathroom were large.  We just lucked out getting this room this time around. 
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Stoney Creek Lodge very much.  The staff was efficient and very helpful to us not only at check-in but also whenever we had a question or a request.  The room and bathroom were very clean.  We enjoyed sitting on the patio at night and stargazing. We had breakfast both mornings we stayed here.  The food was average but we appreciated having breakfast included in our stay.  
We loved the lodge’s location in the park as it was a relatively short drive to both the General Sherman Tree and the General Grant tree.  The Grant Grove is awesome.  If you have to choose between which one to see, choose the Grant Tree and the grove surrounding it.  
Also don’t miss the lovely stoney creek which is just down a small hill behind the lodge and a short walk to the right.  It’s a beautiful serene setting and well worth seeing when you stay at this lodge. 
I recommend this lodge and we would definitely stay here again next time we visit Sequoia National Park.

Location…Location…Location!!! Stony Creek Lodge is located in the perfect spot between Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. The rooms are clean, simple, and have everything one needs. SUPER friendly and helpful staff!! :)))

Location…Location…Location

The location is fabulous - right in the heart of Sequoia National Park. The staff were extremely helpful and fun. Breakfast in the dining area is included. Coffee is always available in the common area. There is on-site gas and convenience store. 

I was part of a group attending a wedding and most of the group was camping nearby. 

The lodge common area is slowly being renovated. It old and very basic.  Most of the rooms have multiple beds for families. Good beds and bedding. Everything else is pretty dated. 

It’s pricey for the room quality. You pay for the location in the park.

Pricey and basic but in a great location.

I needed lodging in the park on short notice for a family event. The Wuksachi was sold out, and this turned out to be a surprisingly pleasant alternative. The furnishings are simple, and you're certainly not staying at the Ritz-Carlton. But everything is comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly. It's the sort of backcountry vacation lodge  my parents took me to, back in the day, and that old style vibe is actually kind of sweet.

Rustic in a mostly good way

It's hard to know how to rate this place. On the positive side, the location is amazing, and is what you are here for. You're in the National Forest, so 20 minutes from desirable trailheads. You can get there first, before things fill up, and you don't have to drive an hour of winding roads, and you're not camping. You get a simple but nice breakfast at 8 am, and then you can just stay out all day. The place itself, however, is really run down. My room had no heat for two nights, much of the already small lobby is roped off for construction, the plumbing was having trouble one night, and the front desk is not staffed after 7 or 8 pm. Dingy is the word. I was here by myself, and I'd do it again if it was just me. But if my wife was joining me, we'd try to be at Waksuchi.

Run down but functional

Very nice and helpful staff. Lodge is comfortable. Coffee in the lobby for early risers is from the previous day. No staff available to refresh it before 8am. 
The breakfast is good but limited. 
WiFi, I know it’s a National Park, is very slow and cell coverage is nonexistent.

All that said we really enjoyed our stay

On the flip side Montecito Sequoia Lodge canceled part of our reservation after accepting it. We had to work to get things set up.

Sequoia NP stay

Although all the guide books tell you that there is no gasoline in King Sequoia, and that is technically true, Stony Creek is a federal property that has gasoline, a lodge, a store and a restaurant that specializes in pizza.  Given that we spent seven days in the park, and it is miles from one end to the other, we were glad to find the gas option.  And for the same reason, with the NPS concessionaire offering very little in food during COVID, this gave us one lunch and one dinner break from the park routine.

This is a basic hotel in a wonderful location right between Kings Canyon and Sequoia. We found our room very clean. The staff was great. They are understaffed and very hard working. There is pizza available to purchase for dinner and a free breakfast. The pizza was good and the breakfast was good enough. You stay here for the location not for the amenities. The only complaint I have is no coffee in the room or lobby until 8am and no hair dryer.
