We had a lovely stay! My boyfriends family was staying here- we were to stay someplace else- luckily they had a room available! It was lovely ! Gorgeous location , clean, and lovely breakfast made to order! Would definitely recommend and will stay again if we come back! Comfy bed too!

Great B and B and beautiful location !

     My husband and I ski every Jan thru March at Belleayre Mt.  We plan on staying at the Margaretville Mt Inn every Mon thru Wed night each week.  We divide our time between Belleayre and Gore Mt so are not there every week.  We have done this for more than 10 years.  There is no place else we would rather stay.  We love Carole, the owner and Inn Keeper.  She sets a lovely breakfast table and provides us with a cooked breakfast of our choice.  She always bakes something special.  We love the old Victorian style and décor. We have always enjoyed visiting in the cozy common area or at breakfast with the other guests of the Inn. Because we come only during midweek times, we often bring our own easily heated dinner.  Carole provides a frig, microwave, coffee pot and paper plates and utensils for those that wish to do as we do.  It is a bit difficult to find restaurants that are open during the mid-week time slot.    The skiing is wonderful at Belleayre.  They do an excellent job of making snow and of grooming their trails. 
     We will continue our long time practice of enjoying our time off the slopes at the Margaretville Mountain Inn.   We consider this our home away from home.

A lovey place to stay

Needs a lot of TLC , (very old and rusty) and better service, We could not stay. Not how it looks online, very old towels, etc. Pictures are deceiving online vs the reality. We were very excited with the trip, but very disappointed when we got there. « Breakfast  included » in the apartment (2nd location) was just a basket with some coffee, some store donuts and raising brand cereal! Note: they were good at refunding us.

Not Recommended

We wanted to get away for the weekend and we were so glad that we tried the Margaretville Mountain Inn. The house and our room were beautiful and very clean. After exploring the area we came back and spent several hours hanging out outside on the very large wrap-around porch. It was so relaxing and pleasant with lovely views. In the morning we ate in the dining room and the food was superb! Carol is an excellent cook and her daughter, Erika, was a very charming server. The covid distancing was handled very well and we felt that it didn't interfere with our enjoyment of our stay in the least bit. We will definitely come again.

Lovely stay!

We had a wonderful quiet time at this 19th century beauty inn. The rooms are fabulous but simple and very comfortable. My wife and I had the entire house to ourselves. Our breakfasts were great served in a very beautiful dining area decorated with 18th and 19th centuries furnitures. The innkeeper was attentive and respectful.

City get away

The Inn is a historic home and everything is antique-y.  It's very well-appointed and the rooms are lovely.  The breakfast was also good.  And the view is spectacular!  The owner does not make herself a part of the experience - she stays in the background. 
 The one negative was that there is sometimes no one there on the premises.  Our room was locked by the cleaning person with the key inside it and it took an hour to get someone to come over and help us out.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights for a little weekend getaway in the Catskills, and it was an extremely pleasant stay! The Inn is on a large property with beautiful views of the mountains.  It's pretty secluded which was nice because it allowed for a GREAT night's sleep -- no noise at all and total darkness! It's about a 3 or 4 minute drive to the little town area with some shops, restaurants and a grocery store.  All rooms in the house are very cozy and we always felt super comfortable wherever we were hanging out. (Our favorite was wine on the porch right before sunset!) Carol is a great host, very sweet, and super accommodating. We enjoyed great hiking when we were there, just about a 25 minute drive to the trailhead.  We will most certainly be back for our next visit to the Catskills!

Perfect weekend getaway

Well, where to start. The owner is a terror. (Look at how often she finds excuses for all the not-s0-good posts on TA). From the first knock on the door, she heckled us with a "WHAT do you want". We were guests we said. "Ugh, come in." I have no idea why she was so angry except that we parked with the back of our car overhanging her lawn or a bush or something. I only say this becuase she commented that something like you people always park wrong. I don't know who you people is, but it was pretty offensive whatever she meant.

The stay went down hill from there. Constant snipes after we asked for earplugs due to the creeaky walls. Before you book here, read all the reviews. It's really imporant. The two-star ones speak the truth.

Very Tough to Say Good Things

This hotel was nothing but pleasant. The location was amazing and we had an enjoyable time staying here. Seriously it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!! The view was amazing and my whole family was in awe over the views

A great end to our trip

I stayed here with my young daughter before a ski day at Plattekill. The Inn is charming, has a nice little common room we played a game, and heated up leftovers when we arrived. The room was comfortable and bed felt luxurious. My only critique is that the heat was blasting overnight and we found it very uncomfortable to sleep. We couldn’t open the windows and the fan shook so much it made my daughter nervous. Around 2am it cooled down. The breakfast was delicious and lots of cereals, oatmeal and fruit was available. We loved the fancy large common table and it allowed us to have a nice conversation with other guests. We didn’t spend a lot of time in Margaretville but there is a nice grocery store and little Main Street and it is close to both Belleayre and Plattekill. The B&B is a little off the main roads but not too far (although GPS did manage to take us some weird back way). Breakfast was offered early enough to get to the mountain by 9am. The heat issue wasn’t enough to keep us away the next time although I might say something about it to ensure it didn’t happen again. Also I heard they had a hot tub! Maybe next time!
