I am winding down a fabulous week at Blue Horizon B&B. I can't say I've ever had a more relaxing stay in a more beautiful space. Upon arrival, you are greeted by sweeping views of the Catskills that seem to go on forever. There is a spacious wrap-around deck allowing for endless enjoyment of the breathtaking horizon. Upon entering the lodge-style space, you find yourself in a soaring great room with floor-to-ceiling windows, comfortable furnishings,books, and stylish appointments that reveal this is not only a B&B, but a well-loved home. The hosts, Eddie and Alden, were completely accommodating to my needs as a writer looking for a quiet space to work. The meals were delicious and prepared with care. They happily made coffee to keep me going. I stayed in the Yellow Room which is located on the basement level of the house. Despite being on the lower level of the home, because the lodge is built into the side of a small mountain, the room has two windows that face the woods and a meadow allowing for plenty of sunshine and drapes that can be drawn for privacy (from what? Bears??). There is a clean bathroom (not en-suite) that is accessible via the TV room adjacent to the bedroom and it is reserved exclusively for the use of the Yellow Room occupant. Because the B&B is also a working home, you have the delightful opportunity to enjoy Eddie and Alden's company (as well as a beautiful kitty), or you can choose to use Blue Horizon as a base from which you can enjoy the beauties of the region. As it is located in a fairly secluded area, be prepared for a lack of cabs/Uber, nearby pizza joints, etc. The guys were terrific with recommendations on where I could pick up groceries, which they allowed me to prepare in their kitchen. Other regional amenities and restaurants are accessible by car, so be prepared to explore the nearby towns. Highly recommended if you are looking for an out-of-the-way, quiet and secluded B&B experience in a truly lovely environment.

Beautiful views, amazing home, cozy room.

Booked recently a room with Blue Horizon Bed and Breakfast, they only have 2, one with 2 beds and one singe bed, through Obitz, I cancelled the reservation even so the owners eddy and Arlen told me they would helped . They did nothing, I had to fight with Orbitz to get my money back. It is not really a B&B , they basically use AirB&B and Travelocity for booking and like to pose as a B&B. It is just a home with 2 rooms and you stay with the owners..

Despite being in an unmarked house on the top of a gravel road, we found the location easy enough and were greeted with a warm welcome. The host was extremely accommodating and even offered us a few beers. The view is phenomenal and the air was pure. The living room is beautifully decorated, and we felt very much at home listening to the stories of our host, Alden. All things considered, I think the best part of our stay was the home made breakfast with some of the best eggs I have ever had.

Quaint, peaceful stay with an amazing view and great breakfast

My wife and I are shocked with the current reviews! Nothing I read was close to being true. We had an amazing view of the mountains off the beautiful deck and had a great breakfast at 7:30 am with the beautiful sunrise over the mountains. We woke up to deer eating apples off the apple tree beside our room and witnessed a black bear on our scenic hike. The Host was extremely polite and made our stay amazing. I want to say thank you to the host Alden for a wonderful experience. We will be more than happy to come back soon.

I've never walked out early from a hotel or Bed and Breakast, but that is exactly what I did. I couldn't bear to stay the two nights we booked, and we left as soon as the sun was up. The room reeked of sickly overwhelming air freshener, which in truth didn't mask the overpowering musty moldly smell of the room. It was in the basement, after all. It rained that night, and we awoke to half the carpet soaked. I barely slept at all because I couldn't breathe. It was that bad.

Additionally, the bathroom was down the hall, which wouldn't have been so bad if that hall wasn't unfinished, filled with dripping hot water heaters, exercise equipment, and clutter. Also, the toilet was nearly impossible to flush. 

Since we were down in their basement, there wasn't a sense of privacy. I felt uncomfortable the whole time. The was a rec room sort of set up in the room next to the bedroom with a couch and tv, but it was never said that we could use it or had the setup explained to us. There was a porch filled with dusty lawn furniture, lots of unsightly white plastic covering hay (?), the hot tub was covered. All useless to us as guests. Also, the owners seemed to be moving their furniture for hours that evening. Inexplicable and noisy!

We were also told breakfast was at 9, which is pretty late for anyone as coffee-addicted as I am. It would have been much more cordial to present a reasonable range of breakfast times, and ask when we would like breakfast. We didn't stick around for it, but...

It's pretty clear the owners' heart is not into providing even a decent experience for their guests. I got a clear feeling of "let's stick a bed in our basement to make extra money" vibe, and nothing more. Ugh.
