This place had hot water, a semi-comfortable bed and heat. It did not have a hair drier, microwave or fridge. I don't know about wifi because I didn't use it. I stayed on the third floor and there was an elevator that worked fine. I also had to leave a $20 deposit, which I got back in the morning.

All one needs

I've stayed here multiple times. It's always the cheapest hotel on hotels.com. My ex and I used to stay sometimes twice a week (I have 3 children at home, and his sister and her 3 kids lived with him). The clerk even laughed at me once bc he saw me in there so much. 

The rooms are what you would expect, for $40 after taxes, (although rates keep going up and it's now about $50.) 

There are maybe 2 or 3 "nicer" rooms here. By "nicer" I mean nicer than THEIR other rooms. They are not nice at all compared to pretty much any other hotel, ever,. The 1 that you can tell is hand painted pictures on the wall, but unfortunately there are shapes drawn where the lining is terribly off in places and you definitely notice it, and it will drive you crazy! Most rooms, including the "fake nicer" ones, have no fridge or microwave. Several rooms have no remotes for the TV. I've been in at least 1 room that had no TV. (I don't watch television, so I prefer this room, actually). The chord to the phone, was literally duct taped on to the phone! Pretty much any surface that used to be white, is yellow stained now, from all the nicotine, and there are dark orange cigarette burn marks on most sink edges and countertop edges and even on the top of some of the toilet lids. Even non-smoking rooms are like this and ALL OF THE ROOMS smell of stale cigarettes.  Even with the non smoking rule, there are multiple people that will open the front window and just smoke straight from the bed. Many people live here full time and are extra comfortable doing this and I've seen it during every stay. Several of the toilet tops are slanted (your guess is as good as mine as to why). But if you sit your drink or phone on the back, The beds in a couple rooms are actually directly against the air/heating unit, directly next to the window. I've never seen anything like it before, and it seemed like it would be a fire hazard, if the heat were on.

Most carpet looks like it hasn't been replaced in 2 decades (and I'd bet $500 it hasn't been). Sane with the curtains and the sheets and bed cover; ALL of which are still in rotation, with crusty, gaping cigarette holes in them. 

I've never seen any bugs, outside of spiders and stink bugs, that I can say. But I'm also a very clean person.

The scum of the area, either lives or frequents here. 1 time when I stayed with my daughter here, a woman was screaming at us in the parking lot that it crackheads stay there and kept asking my teenage daughter if I was trafficking her and asking if she needed help. She was definitely on some hard drugs, and the owner told me that she was angry bc she'd been asked to vacate the property. 

I believe that more negative reviews haven't been posted bc people know what to expect when they come here. Especially locals, and those who live in the hotel. It's a party hotel, and everyone smokes weed and everything else in their rooms, so how would they be the 1 to make a complaint?
 The staff is generally polite, aside from an incident I had during my last stay, which will be the reason that I never return!

It was my birthday week (10/21). I decided to book a room here with the new guy I've been dating for about a year, for my birthday. I got the room on 10/19. I was unsure of how many days he could get off work, so I only booked 1 night, initially. I always book through hotels.com, bc you get a free night after 10 stays. I've done this at this hotel, no less than 5 years. And as a Lyft driver, I've done the same multiple times at other hotels, with zero issues. I just tell them in advance, then come down to have my key reset and sign the paper for the additional night, After I prepay for it on the app.

The woman who works here, who told me she was the owner, is really the worst employee they have! She is usually there in the mornings, and she calls to remind you to check out between 10:15 and 1030, even though checkout isn't until 11. I've never had a hotel do this, unless I requested it. And I've seen several other people complain about it, and sometimes it will even be earlier than 10:15am. She has a very rude tone of voice, like she hates the customers and just wants your worthless butt out of her hotel. I try to attribute her tone to her thick accent, but I know now, that it's really just her personality.

She called around 10:20, and I told her I was not checking out and was in the middle of rebooking online, and would be down, when I was done, to sign and reset keys.

I go down to do this, and she tells me that i have to pay an early check in fee! $15 is actually a decent early check in fee, but not when you're a stay over, who is still currently in the room! This has never happened to me in the probably 10 years I've been doing this! But I think she just wanted something to happen to me from the second I got to the desk.

I politely explained, that I was staying over, so there was no need for an early check in. She was not polite at all, looked at me like I was Stupid, or like how women who hate pretty women, look at pretty women, bc it was definitely personal, as far as I'm concerned..

She continues to tell me that I can pay it, or leave. I told her that I was a regular at the hotel, and had never been charged an early check in fee, for  a stay over, as long as I make them aware before checkout, which I had when she called me 30-45mins before checkout time. 

I told her I'm pretty sure it's not even legal to charge an early check in on a stay over. I then asked to speak to the owner, whom I usually dealt with. She then told me she was the owner. I told her I had always dealt with a gentleman. She seemed very upset that I even mentioned him, so idk if he is her husband, or what, but she told me that he wasn't the owner, she was. She began yelling loudly at me to get out, several times and that I could not stay! I told her that I had prepaid with a nonrefundable rate! She did not care and kept telling me to get out and that I couldn't stay. She does have a thick accent, so I couldn't understand everything she was saying at first, but she was yelling "my hotel! Not your hotel! My hotel! Leave!" Then repeated this several times, yelling. I never went out of my customer service voice at all during this interaction.

At this point, there were 2 people in line next to me, completely staring, bc they had been observing all of this, and waiting so long. I told them that i was a stay over and she was trying to charge for an early check in. The rooms were already at $50, which was cheaper than all of the good hotels, that's why people go there, but in all fairness, the rooms are not worth $50, for any other reason, other than, that everywhere else is $65 or $70. I think $30 is a nice number, for what I'd say I'd pay, if I chose what they are worth. Not $40, not $50, certainly not worth $65 (the rate plus early check in fee!)
! I could have stayed at a nice hotel for that! 

My bday was 10/21. I initially checked in on 10/19. Had she not verbally assaulted me, I would have also stayed on the 21st, and not checked out until 10/22. So they lost a nights rate from me, over a $15 early check in, which I only paid, bc I had no choice, bc I had prepaid and was being thrown out. But they lost more than that in revenue bc I stayed here so often.

I ended up having to very calmly, and slowly, apologize and literally BEG HER to stay. Bc I had already paid $50 for the room and I had taken a Lyft there, so she was literally trying to keep my money and throw me out to find a ride. All of this after I'd already PREPAID! Not to mention I've definitely spent in the thousands with their hotel over the years.

Not only did she ruin my birthday, but it was my 40th birthday! And they lost a regular customer that was willing to look past what a crap hole it already was.

Trashed carpet. Nicotine dripping from bathroom walls. Smell of smoke in room very strong. No plates/glasses for use of microwave. Neighbors seem more like homeless people. Sorry, but this place just seems very trashy.

I wouldn't stay here again if they paid me instead of me paying them! It was dirty, the mattress was lumpy and made me itchy. The floor was more comfortable than the bed was. Certainly a crack den if I ever seen one!

what r u expecting at $40 a night, u want something great then go somewhere else.   sheets had cigarette burns, carpets were stained in a cpl spots but i was able to sleep, and take an actually decent shower in the morning and head out.  not the ritz but it did the job    wouldnt stay here with significant other or if i was a female traveling alone tho as it is a questionable area but i never felt unsafe.....   thats just me tho

Booked a room quick to get out of the rain through Hotwire! That was a $40 mistake! Went up to our room trying to be optimistic. Oh hell no!! Our room was open, the room was tore a part, and it looked like a drug den was just in there. Actually it reminded me of a murder scene. Do not go there at all!!!

Sheets dirty, electrical outlets in sink area did not work, and you ask for clean towels and toilet paper all missing from the room upon check-in. Refrigerator was unplugged and the hairdryer did not work, no soaps or shampoos available, this was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.  Requested non-smoking room, the room obviously had been smoked in cigarette burns tub area and toilet had no lid.  So, dirty!!!
