We were able to enjoy a long weekend here and loved it! The overnight RV sites are huge, and there are TONS of open spaces for walking or jogging. We travel with two very large dogs and between the large green spaces and walking trail we always had plenty of room to exercise them. The campground is 10 mins for any essentials as well many access points to the Appalachian trail. This is a great spot to enjoy some time close to nature and still have all the comforts and amenities you’d like. 

Amazing, Quiet and Beautiful Campground.

We had a great stay at Appalachian Campground. We stayed the weekend and played mini golf which was nice. We will definitely be back.

Weekend stay

What a great weekend with the family. Grew up here. Was here every weekend holiday whenever we wanted we had a permanent site up until I was 16 and family passed on and we just stopped coming but being here this weekend brought back so many memories and made me feel close to all my family who has come and gone. I will definitely be bacl.

Memories

Made the best of our stay and had a great time with the family plenty spacious bathrooms, decent upkeep, however; Needs a real General/Camp Manager, I had a question about our site which the young CSR needed to speak to management about. I could hear this “Manager”  as he referred to us as discount customers and sent her back out with a disgraceful answer to which the young lady herself was obviously nervous and shamed for having to relay to us. The mini golf could also use some TLC, besides that a decent campground that could be sold out every week with the proper leadership in charge.

Needs new management

Fishing pond was a lot of fun. Lots of fish in there. Also has a heated pool. Some of the campsites by the pond are very uneven. But other than that it was a great stay.

Fun campground

This is a great campground! Staff are friendly and helpful. Campground is clean and well maintained. We have been coming here for 4 years now and already re-booked for the same weekend next year, which is one of the Halloween weekends.

Great Experience

Stayed at site 313. Premium site. Site required at least an extra 1 foot of wood or other leveling devices to get our trailer level, front to back. While we did not have campers directly next to us, there's only 10 feet between sites. The way these sites are arranged each site faces a different direction. They're so close that if i had a neighbor on my door side, the next trailer would have their door facing us. Awnings would probably come close to touching. 
One night, I'm sitting in my recliner watching tv and I notice the whole trailer is vibrating. I go outside and the next camper was outside looking around to see what was vibrating. You could actually feel it through your feet. We determined it might have been coming from either the major truck stop or the Kenworth truck dealership. Both less than 1/4 mile from the campground.
While the campground is very nice and looks well maintained, I won't be coming back.

Premium site? I think not

We were looking for an RV campground within a couple of hours from our home in NJ that was close to good hiking trails.  Other than being right off the highway, this RV park was peaceful, clean and well cared for.  We found great hiking within a 15 minute drive. They have a calendar full of activities and a beautiful pond with a fountain in the center. We enjoyed walking around and listening to the bluegrass band on a Saturday night!

Peaceful Park for a Short Visit

The RV site didn’t have any septic.  And no where on our site selection do I see it stated there wasn’t any.  There is a dump station but very inconvenient to have to move the RV to dump.   Tight getting around the road in with big rig.  Once in place the site was large.  Campfire smoke all day and night a problem.  My husband was having difficulty with his breathing so we had to leave early.   

Won’t return 

Rt 78 made this a very noisy camp ground. The site we were assigned was very close to the next one. Found water, electricity, and sewer functional. Library was well stocked with books and other materials likes DVDs
