My wife and I stayed at the Windemere for 6 nights as part of a tour group.  We travel a lot and it's hard to think of a more depressing place.  It is clean enough but this property lacks any semblance of TLC.  The heating system is a disaster; there is no way to regulate the temperature so you either sweat or freeze.  Breakfast is appallingly bad: no healthy choices, out of basics such as cereal or milk, bananas showed up on day 3 and were gone by day 5 and the person manning the area could simply say "I can only offer what I have".  

Not even lids for the coffee cups!  The front desk staff are well-meaning but clueless.  We had a reservation for a king room but they gave us a queen saying that was all that was available.  Yet after complaining, housekeeping found us a king in minutes.  I asked for a power adapter because there are insufficient plug-ins in the rooms to handle all of our electronics and was greeted with a shrug.  Even on check-out the staff had a difficult time figuring out our bill and they had to email it to me after a manager showed up in the evening.

This is a very depressing and disappointing property.

Very disappointing

I stayed here on a tour with others.  The hotel was very dirty as was the room. It didn't look as though anyone had vacuumed the room for months. I used the shower tub combo but while showering, I noted a ring around the tub, I checked to see if this was a water stain, but NO, it was scum!!!!  This was inexcusable.

On Friday February  4 ,I was to receive a wakeup call at 9 am but the phone never rang. I called the front desk and she apologized. This too was inexcusable. There was no means by which to schedule your own wakeup call via phone and  there was no clock radio. Good thing I always use my cell phone as back up.

There is a pool, but not heated. The previous jacuzzi was turned into a grassy area.

Worst hotel I've stayed in

Horrible hotel.   I was scheduled to stay for four nights and checked out the next morning. 

The first room they sent me to hadn't been cleaned (someone had stayed in it).  The second room was just inside an outer door that was supposed to have key card access only.   The key card access was broken so they propped the door open all night. I'm a women traveling alone so I felt unsafe the entire night. 

There was a semi-truck parked outside my window and it was running all night long and LITERALLY my bed vibrated all night long. 

Then the air conditioner rattled loudly every time it kicked on and scared me out of sleep, ALL NIGHT LONG.  I was too tired to have to move to another room. 

Even with all of the lights on, you could scarcely see, it was so dark. 

I only slept a few hours and woke up bright and early to check out.  Free breakfast was a joke.   No self-serve (which I'm ok with) but no cereal,  milk, pastries etc.   The had a cook that could make you eggs and pancakes but it was so dismal looking in their "dining area" I just wanted to get out of there. 

I DO NOT recommend this hotel.   For a few dollars more a night I found a Best Western that was 100% better.

Don't waste your time or money.

At 12:30pm on 6/28 I called to make a reservation.  The employee stated, "We're all booked".  This without knowing my intended arrival date.  I said, "I'm arriving in October."  Her reply, "Sorry, we are all booked."  I got on-line and found many rooms available on my intended date of arrival.  I hope this conversation was recorded and someone having a little authority can fire this idiot.

room was comfortable but the lack of  basic networks like USA, TNT, and others is ridiculous.  No ESPN,
 AMC  come on people,  this is the United States not a third world country.  I will say they have a nice breakfast and convenient location.

while the motel itself is comfortable, the lack of tv channels is ridiculous!

We live in the East Valley and wanted to explore Southern AZ. This hotel is dog friendly at no additional cost for us which was a plus! We did some wine tasting in Sonoita at two lovely wineries called the Meading Room and Autumn Sage on the way to Bisbee (we had a DD of course) and then explored Bisbee. When we were ready to call it a night we checked in this hotel around 8 pm which was only a 27 minute drive from the charming town of Bisbee. Glad we stayed here as parking was not a problem unlike in Bisbee where it was a challenge if you were exploring downtown. The room was clean. It also helped that the hotel was set up for covid precautions the moment you walked in, there was plexi glass and staff was wearing masks. Check in was less than 5 mins and room was very comfortable, carpet is a little worn but that was minor. Loved the bath and body works toiletries and plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast came with the stay that was nice during these times, hot eggs, waffles and sausage was served behind plexi glass just tell the sever what you want. Cereal and yogurt was also available. The next morning we checked out and went back to Bisbee again, it was such a lovely town then headed to Tombstone less then 30 minutes away from Bisbee but Tombstone was too touristy for us, we were home in the East Valley by 6 pm. It was a perfect overnight get away for a our family and dog, we would definitely stay again.

Good for exploring Southern AZ and dog friendly 

The  room, temperature, TV and wifi were great.  Clean and I loved the Bath and Body Works soaps/shampoo/conditioner.  Hotel was near Applebee's, Texas Roadhouse, Jack in the Box, a mall, and a gas station.  Staff was friendly and gracious.  Hot breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, juice, coffee, tea) was great.  I left an item there accidentally and they returned it to me within a few days.

Great place, could use a bit of decorating, but comfortable with great facilities.
Friendly, helpful staff and a great barman.
Clean and tidy, easy to navigate. Food in the restaurant was very good.
Would go again

Business and Pleasure

We always stay at the Windermere Hotel when visiting Sierra Vista. First class all the way. Nice pool, good breakfast, great service and friendly staff. They also have a five star upscale restaurant on the property. The Tandem. Perfect place to stay when in Sierra Vista. 

Vacation 

If you have been to the Windemere in Mesa AZ and think these two are managed or owned by the same people, you are very much mistaken!!  The differences are like day and night.  Mesa is dismal, seedy, and questionable at best.  This venue is completely different!  Breakfast is good.  Selection is very nice.  Staff are friendly and approachable.  You can take a shower and feel CLEAN!    Pets are welcome and no pet fee.  We have stayed here twice.  We had an issue with the sink not draining properly.  Even though Labor Day weekend, the sink was fixed by Carlos without any problem.  Highly recommended  While the restaurant is currently closed, is should be re-opening within a month to six weeks.  There are restaurants nearby.
