While this is an inexpensive motel, the property was in good condition and the rooms were clean. I first stayed on a Monday night, then returned the same week for two additional nights because I had a very positive experience the first night. 
The motel is also convenient to a Family Dollar store and many local restaurants. 
I will stay there again next year when I return.

5 star review for a 3 star motel.

The air condition is as noisy as a trailer on my head. I decided to turn it off and what a surprise! A noise like if air was going up and down from internal tube. I couldn't sleep all night. Since the beginning I was aware that it wasn't a fancy hotel, but this noisy! Come one!

Noisy, very noisy.

This place is just OK for families.  If you are looking for a place to crash after seeing the sights around here. It's a good place. Not a great place for children.  
It has none of the usual amenities expected, but the rooms are ultra clean. ULTRA CLEAN!
If you're a single or a don't mind much couple? Stay here and save a several dollars.  It's a great place to crash within those parameters. 
It's family run by the nicest people you will never understand.  
That said. I will stay here again if needed. 

I really did enjoy stepping out with my drink and talking with my also buzzed hallway neighbors.  
At the end of the day? I would stay here again. 



Just a basic place to sleep in a clean room.

Upon arrival, the manager was very pleasant. We had a dog with us, so had to pay more ($30 in cash!!!). Not sure if it was because we had a dog, but we were given a room that was very run down and dirty. Everything worked, and the beds were comfortable, so it was alright, but WAY overpriced for what it is. 

Barely ok

I wish I had checked Tripadvisor before booking this place. The reviews on Booking.com gave an 8.4 rating. 8.4!! God knows how it managed this.
I did suspect that there were better rooms nearer the front of the motel (it was not a hotel as I know it). We were dumped at three rooms at the back of the place. 
Cars coming & going all night & a screaming match in one room till gone 02.00.
Rooms were dated, musty & one was not very clean. One room had paint stains on the carpet. Could not sleep with air-con running as sounded like a truck engine.

The low point of an otherwise great trip

We booked this place based on the many favorable reviews and photos online. We were surprised to find a few pieces of similar furniture as in the posted photos, but a VERY outdated room with a hole in the sheets, no bedside lights or outlets, a mini fridge and microwave from the 90s and just a depressing, overall feel. Yes, the price is good for this area, but don't expect the same place as in the posted photos/reviews. 

Same place? 

Our regular hotel was full up so we had to look elsewhere on this trip. OMG! I can not believe the high reviews on this place. Where was Captain Obvious when I needed him? I cannot decide whether this place has been used as a backdrop for the Terminator movies or America's Most Wanted TV series. Old and decrepit doesn't even begin to describe it. The outside looks well kept and painted but inside the room is another story. The carpet in the room looks like it was installed before WWII and it looks like that might be the last time it was cleaned as well. Walls are dingy and door trim is all scratched and gouged. This place needs MAJOR renovation. The broken pot pipes strewn about the back 40 add a special kind of ambiance. But hey, we got dinner out of it. Apparently the previous guests left us an adequate supply of Hot Pockets and pizza rolls in the micro fridge freezer. I guess you have to count your blessings where you can find them. The last time I stayed in a place I felt as safe and secure as I did in this place I was billeted in an Army tent in the hinterlands of Afghanistan. The perils of finding things through the internet. I wish I could say, "Thanks Captain Obvious." Woof....Calgon take me away!

Maybe I'm just a malcontent...but...

A perfect evening stopover on my Western vacation route between Tombstone, and Old Tucson! This is a comfortable 50’s era motel that has been remodeled while keeping a fair rate. I felt the friendly owner/manager took pride in his motel, and found everything clean and in order. Despite having a room in the front on the main highway through town there was no road noise. I would stay here again if in the area. 

Nice retro motel!

I can't believe there is a better room value in Sierra Vista than the Magnuson. The rooms are remodeled, comfortable and quiet. The staff is accommodating and exceptional. Want a home-away-from-home experience while you are on the road? Stay at the Magnuson with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron and board, strong wfi  and a full-range menu on cable TV. A lot of positives for a reasonable price! I'll keep coming back.

Continuing visits

Highly recommended property at this price point. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The room was quiet in a good location. It could use some refurb but it is good value. Plenty of stores and eating options nearby.

The manager is good humored knowledgeable and friendly.  I borrowed a pen to write down some notes, when i returned the pen he urged me to keep it. While I did not keep it his gesture meant a lot. 

Keep your expectations in check with breakfast. There is fruit, instant oatmeal, tea, coffee, Orange and Apple juice.

Would have no hesitation returning here and have no hesitation recommending it.  Apparently the property is soon rebranding to Magnuson.
