Girl's trip for bday celebration.  We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the pool and hot tub (we were relieved that no 'drink police' were there during our mid-week stay. Really stupid that they don't allow drinks at the pool - but since the cat was away....:-). Despite the hours listed on Google Maps for The Locker Room bar - it did stay open until 11 pm on a Thursday night! We had a blast (karaoke night) hanging out with the very friendly locals. We rented our 2BR thru VRBO so this review isn't about the condo. But I didn't feel the property felt as dated as what I've read but maybe I was expecting the worst based on reviews 😂. I did my research and knew a lot of businesses in the Village may be closed during summer. We had a very enjoyable time. 

Fun summer stay 

Make sure you check in at the top of the Mountain at Allegheny Inn. Rhe price was reasonable given it was during an event.  The room is cozy and homey with a pull down bed. The shower pressure was amazing.  would definitely recommend this place.

Very Nice Lodge!

After driving for a few hours to Snowshoe through a blizzard, we soon realized upon arrival that we would be snowed in for the evening. Given there was little to no availability at the hotels, we were understandably pretty worried about where we would stay.

Laken, from the front desk at Top of the World, was incredibly generous with her time in ensuring we had a seamless experience. She found us the perfect room despite the 'no vacancy' we had heard earlier, and quickly calmed our group down. She explained all of the amenities in each of our room options in great detail, and was such a nice presence during a hectic time. I can't speak highly enough of her and her customer service -- thank you for such a memorable experience Laken!

Silver creek rooms are just normal hotel rooms with normal accommodations, close to pool, hot tub and workout room, kinda close to slopes but wish it was closer, not very close to activities and stuff in ballet however it is right in the middle of everything so it’s close enough.

I found Silver Creek more or less unchanged with a few notable exceptions.  The "Locker Room" sports bar (I think it used to be called Misty's) has expanded its seating area into part of what used to be the Silver Creek lobby, right in front of the elevators.  This has significantly raised its seating capacity and made it a lot more realistic to have a family dinner there.  Before you would have had to sit in what amounts to a very noisy bar, often with a loud band playing, and now you can at least have a more or less quiet meal, although the food itself is still overpriced and inferior to what you'll find the main Snowshoe village area.

Since our last visit, Silver Creek has also added a small new store off the lobby which sells groceries, toiletries, etc.  So if you're trying to save money by cooking your own meals in your unit, you don't have to worry about bringing every last thing.  This was great for us, as we forgot a few small items.  Like the rest of SC, the store is a bit rough around the edges but just having it there is an improvement.

The ski slopes at SC were again much much less crowded than those at the main village area of Snowshoe.  We skied Saturday and Sunday at Silver Creek and the longest lift lines we ever faced were about 5 minutes.  Most of the time we were able to ski right onto any lift we wanted to.  Contrast that to lift lines over 30 minutes long at Snowshoe after about 10:00 AM on Sunday and much of Saturday too.

My kids again loved the indoor/outdoor pool, hot tubs and sauna.

One area that still needs improvement is the WiFi.  Each room has its own WiFi, but while in our suite ours kept dropping and reconnecting - the experience was poor.

Silver Creek is not luxurious and lacks a lot of the amenities of the main village area at Snowshoe, but if you can deal with shorter ski runs the lift lines are also a lot shorter, they have night skiing (not available at main Snowshoe) and have improved the facilities by adding a quieter seating area at the Locker Room sports bar and a small store selling a good variety of grocery items.  Overall SC remains a less hectic and more budget-friendly way to enjoy Snowshoe.  Based on the improvements I'd bump it up a half star to 3.5 stars.

Silver Creek Update

Great location for ski school for the kids and we really loved the hot tub connected to the pool.  Yes, it’s a bit dated as all reviews have said, but it was clean and perfect for a quick weekend.  One warning.... no hot water around 6pm on Saturday ...guess everyone was taking a shower at the same time!

Great family weekend, but....

This is an ok place during snow/skiing season I guess. In early November EVERY THING is CLOSED . No food, no gift shop, and nothing open. We were lucky to arrive early and found a lady that found a phone to call the property management. This was a 3 mile round trip just to check in. Luckily our trip was toCass WV. And we found food there 12 miles round trip. No warnings or signs giving directions to the fact everything is closed. Room was ok.

Visit wrong time of year.

Definitely not what we thought we were getting.  Stayed in one bedroom/ sleeps 4 with pull out couch.   Pull out couch was sunk in and springs broke/ plus filthy and old.   Dishes were dirty/ sponge to clean was filthy and dishwasher was temperamental.  Very outdated room.    On the positive side , very convenient / pool and hot tub were fine and had plenty of places to eat.    We were fortunate to bring a blow up mattress and our own cooking supplies so we didn’t use what was provided.   Overall poor value for $$ spent.  Rm 2506

Room

First and last trip to Snowshoe Mtn. Booked a room at Silver Creek for the New Years Holidays.  To say this place is dated and over priced is the understatement of the year!  “Resort” staff very unfriendly and unhelpful.  Skiing at the silver creek area is fair at best.  Limited dining and activity options at the silver creek lodge.  Save your time and money and go to Canaan Valley and stay at a real resort with friendly staff and great skiing!

We booked a condo in silvercreek lodge it was outdated the couch pull out bed was broken they don’t provide  much  the Kitchen was very outdated holes in  the couch’s  very small. For 6 people The restaurant in the lodge was awful do  not waste your money we paid 10 for soup. Out of a can  horrible waste of money noting was good  we went to the pool two times. Guidelines were not followed  people were everywhere  could not even use the hot tub  Also  the fireplace in our room did not work. The only thing nice about the whole place was the staff.  And the little store inside  that sold  a variety of items and the gift shop was nice would not  go back😩
