Hilton Vacation Club Lake Tahoe Resort South 

We stayed at the Hilton Vacation Club in late April for two nights, and I wished it had been for a longer stay!! Upon arrival the car was quickly emptied, and the valet whisked it away for parking. Retrieval took a matter of minutes, and the service was excellent. The hotel itself is a very imposing sight on a main highway intersection, and is typical of similar establishments found in Denver (for all those ski fanatics out there). We were allocated a 2 bedroom condo on the second to top floor, with a lakefront view from the living area balcony. The rooms were clean and spacious, with a requisite ‘self-survival requirements’ ……cooker, fridge etc., most of which were duplicated in the second bedroom. Layout was a King and 2 Queens, the latter being an add on, indicated by having a separate entrance, however if preferred, the two rooms can be left open with a single entrance to the condo. This arrangement is similar to The Signature in Las Vegas and as previously mentioned, condos in Denver. There are a number of eateries within the property serving the staple produce, and there are also BBQ cooking facilities in the central grassed area should you wish to avail yourself of this option. We purchased fresh meat from the nearby Whole Foods and Safeway shops, and took the finished product upstairs given the bright but cool weather during our visit. The hotel is perfectly situated adjacent to the lake, and access to most activities is within walking distance. I had read previous reviews that cited heavy promotional interaction (timeshare etc.), however we listened to a brief highlight before checking in, and chose not to follow up on any offers tabled. Unlike most European cities, this was the end of the discussion, and we were left to continue our break without any further hassle. I wish other establishments could be likewise respectful!! The drive in and out of the resort is beautiful but slow, with dozens of switchbacks and speed variations, so please take this into consideration when planning a visit. Overall, a great and memorable stay, and we hope to return again in the near future. Thanks to all!!
