If I could rate as negative, I would.  Dirty, disgusting - have to make your own bed with the dirty sheets provided.  Had to scrub the bathroom, fridge and microwave with Clorox. See pictures. Refused to return money.

Multiple issues will be addressed below concerning false advertisement and unhealthy, unclean conditions of both rooms indicating a lack of property management. 

Nothing was as advertised.   No  entertainment due to dilapidated game room and non functioning pool.  We booked according to the online advertisement and as Covid restrictions had already been lifted by the state then could see no reason why it would still be closed as all casinos and restaurants and hotels have been fully open with zero mask or distancing requirements.  

Website did not say anything about pool under construction — see screenshot from the website below. Again, false advertisement.  Could not play pool due to ruined pool table felt, no full set of balls which prevents ability to actually play a game.

One table by grill which was occupied by one group consistently.  Did not provide sufficient seating for outdoor use, regardless of Covid bogus disclaimer on website which was null and void given every other property that was fully functional. 

First room, A10, disgustingly dirty with mold in both showers.  Fridge dirty.  Microwave food plastered all over.  Dirty floors, dirty couches. 

Second room, A3, had new renovated bathrooms but still not clean.  Used 75 Clorox wipes to clean bathrooms, fridge, microwave and counters.  We used an entire can of lysol disinfectant as well. Sheets were apparently clean but covered in human hair.  The bed coverings or quilts were equally dirty - covered in body hairs and not cleaned.  One recliner could not open or close correctly. When my husband reclined he found stuck on food which was disgusting.  The bottom of the trash can was vile. What is the point of claiming that we have to make our own beds due to Covid when the entire room is unclean and unhealthy? It was appalling and the owners should know the condition allowed by the lack of property management. 

Food was crusted on silverware that was apparently clean from previous tenants.  Sink in A10 had pasta and food in drain catch.  Again, if Covid is the concern why isn’t the property management company cleaning everything instead of the previous tenants? Pot holders covered in batter.  Bowels were dirty. Overall, condition of this facility was appalling and downright dirty.  

When all of this was addressed with the front desk lady and I point blank asked why it was so dirty and who was property management company, I was told “well we are under a transition with that.”  Not a customer’s issue and also not declared on the website.  

Attached are the pictures of the dirty conditions.  Rest assured, we left the room 150% cleaner than when we arrived, which is not what should have to happen for guests to feel comfortable.  We continually felt dirty and did not want to touch couches or chairs due to wondering what was present on the surfaces.  We are disputing any charge for the first or second room stay due to having to clean the second room ourselves and false advertising. Absolutely appalling and ruined our vacation.

Disgusting, Dirty, False Advertising and Unprofessional

Terry Peak is a winter sports resort located above Deadwod., so deserted in summer. We stay in a small apartment with room, living room and kitchen equipped that allows you to eat. The place is quiet. The establishment is well equipped. The comfort is rustic but correct and intended primarily for a public who comes to ski. Attention. The set is quite small, especially if you are 4. A good stop to spend the evening and night. In September 2019, there was no mention of Covid 19.

It's more like a separate hotel, far away from the city.

We booked a room at this lodge for 2 days. The reasons I decided on this play to say was for 4 reasons:
 
The pool
The hot tub
The ping pong table 
The fuse-ball table 

  Sadly, as soon as we arrived we discovered that NONE Of these amenities were available.

  I understand that many places aren’t offering their pools but the least they could done was tell me that with me when I called to book the room. There was no mention of these things not being open. We have 3 kids with us and now the kids have nothing to do and now we’re all stuck in a tiny one bedroom cabin far away from any restaurants or any entertainment. If I would’ve known that these things weren’t available I would’ve booked a room somewhere else, as there are many places that still have their pools open. The office was closed as well so I wasn’t even able to talk to an employee about anything. Here’s the sign and how we were checked in.

Very disappointed 

We arrived earlier than normal check in time but our keys were waiting for us.  The room was right off the parking lot which was nice.  The parking lot was not cleared at all and we watched alot of people spin out and get stuck due to the snow and the slope of the parking lot.  Be prepared for that if you have a small car or lighter vehicle.  The room was very small but worked well for our family. Not sure it would work for four adults.  The pool was a nice break from the slopes and the hot tubs while they didn't work were open and filled with hot water which was nice. The sauna was broken unfortunately.  The pool area is older and has carpet around the edge. We turned the game on the T.V. in the lobby and watched it while we played in the pool area. The staff was helpful and friendly when we asked about restaurants.  The upstairs lobby area had some games video, board, and pool as well as two work out machines.  It provided a nice relaxation area for larger groups.  Our room wasn't too loud however I don't think it was fully booked either.  The shower was a game of really cold with a few seconds of hot hot water but we all made it work.  I think that the location was the driving factor for us and we would stay here again just to be able to walk across the street and be at the slopes.

Cozy accomadations B4

It's small but has everything you need a toaster, microwave, coffee maker and there was coffee too. The decor is neat with a skiers theme and the hot tub was great. Could use a good deep clean but for the price an excellent value.

Booked 5 nites in B12, but upon arrival B12 was not available so we were moved to A4. We were told we could move back to B12 the next day, but didn't want to pack up to relocate upstairs to B12. Upon entry into A4 (ground floor) we were surprised by the decor which was very dated and dark.  A4 does provide 4 beds in this tiny 2 bedroom 2 full bath condo. A4 was clean, but 4 of the 6 dinning table chairs are missing wheels.  The blind in 1 bedroom was broken making it difficult to put up and down.  Exhaust fans in both bathrooms where extremely noisy,sorry to our upstairs neighbor, but may be payback for the foot traffic we heard overhead.  There were also lights out in the hallway.  On the bright side, price was reasonable and location was great for all the sites we had on our list (Devils Tower, Mt. Rushmore, Spearfish scenic by-way, Deadwood, Rapid City). Since condo has no air, it was nice that there were 3 ceiling fans plus 2 extra fans available.  Be aware of what your getting if you book A4.  Jason at the desk was EXTREMELY helpful with anything we needed.

Arrived at night light switch did not work had to walk into dark room to turn on lamp. No light bulb in switch light. Water leaked from ceiling in bathroom. Tried to call manager but mountain area no cell pH reception went to office and knocked but no one around. Door lock loose.

Bad room

Not a bad place at all - but a lot of things that you really need to be aware of before booking!!!

The Good:

- incredible rate for The Black Hills on a June Saturday night (just about all places in Deadwood started at $169+ for a Saturday night in June).

- Very quiet and serene location.

- Jason (property caretaker for the HOA) was awesome!!

- Swimming pool and TWO hot tubs really make for a fun stay

The Not-So-Good:

-Room was significantly smaller-sized than what appeared in the TripAdvisor photos advertising this property.

- Pool and hot tubs, for some reason, close at nine PM (most major hotel chains that have pools and hot tubs generally leave them open until at least 11 and a couple go 24 hours).

- Be warned - this property is waaaaaaaaay out there.  No, you do not have to access a 5-mile long dirt road to get to it (actually the only dirt part is the 400-foot driveway leading to the parking lot everything else was nicely paved on the way there), but you do have a pretty good distance to grab dinner or to go to a convenience store after 8 p.m. or anything of that sort as the property is located well outside of the Town of Lead.

-also it is a lodge accommodation so it does not have even limited amenities, like snack bar, cafe, a little store, anything of that sort - so stock up in town before you head up here.

I don't know I'll probably be returning but I'll be prepared next time.

Nice to get away to

Great place to stay. It was off season, nothing fancy, Clean and had everything we needed. Owner was very helpful and friendly. Very nice and clean pool and hot tub! Beautiful location. Would recommend it.

Great Place

We staying in a one bedroom unit for two nights. The good: very reasonable price, very clean, indoor pool (but you have to go outside to access it), kitchenette in unit; the okay: convenient if you are skiing at Terry Peak but a very steep hill to drive up; the less then expected: the walls are very thin (could hear the neighbor snoring), the blinds were see through if the lights are on inside and dark outside, kids running and yelling on the deck in front of rooms until nearly 10pm and there is no front desk to call after 9pm. I might stay there again but will probably prefer an in town hotel next visit. They don’t take American Express (I’ve never been at any lodging that doesn’t).
