Front desk was extremely rude from the get go. Wanted a 50dollar cash deposit when I booked it online and had a card on file then tried charging me an extra 10 bucks cause I had my son with me. By the time I paid that I could go to the lamplighter and have breakfast included with it! And at least at the lamplighter they are a lot nicer!

Do not go here

Terribly run hotel. Asked for a deposit for a dog I didn't own, told not to bring in any guests to the room. When I got back to the hotel late at night after visiting friends in town, owner popped out of nowhere & looked in my car windows to see if I was alone, at 2am! Had to ask for deposit back at checkout, otherwise they would've kept it. Terrible attitude. Shabby room too. Will NOT be back.

Terrible experience

I’m a disabled single woman. I’ve been unexpectedly in between apartments & suddenly found myself in need of a safe hotel that was affordable. That’s when I was blessed to find the Springfield Plaza Inn. I feel safe at the Plaza Inn, it’s somewhat simple-no excessive ‘thrills’... however it provides & meets all basic necessary requirements. Overall I give the Plaza Inn 5 stars because they provide a secure environment, a clean room & quite an exceptionally comfortable bed. I’ve had a broken back, neck & a traumatic brain injury, so I’m not comfortable on just ‘any’ mattress. This hotel is a great value & the staff is very kind & very helpful. I’ve mostly interacted with the hard working professional lady in the office. She is truly AMAZING. She is GENUINE. But make no mistake if anyone had ill intentions, she will look out for her clientele appropriately. These things I’ve stated are why I give the Springfield Plaza Inn 5 STARS.

Great Overall value

This was shown as pleasant hotel. It is not. It's run down and our door looks like someone tried to break in more then once. 
It's supposed to be non smoking and you walk in and the smoke smell hits you in the face. Thankfully we bring room deodorizer. Evidence as well, cigarette burns all over tub and sink. 
Had to go get towels and wash tags from office. Well, they had to bring them. 
Heater doesn't work so they have a portable heater plugged in. 
Not had their " breakfast" yet but looks like coffee only.
If it wasn't non-refundable, we wouldn't have stayed!

Not pleasant

I really just needed a place to sleep for the night, so tried to weigh price vs quality. Check-in was easy enough, and I was allowed to inspect the room first, but I should have it checked it more in depth besides cleanliness. The ceiling in the bathroom was collapsing, which I didn't notice until after I checked in. 
There was also a problem finding a place to park as several vehicles had taken up multiple spots. When I asked at the desk, I was told that when they are busy, there are not always enough parking places. I finally found a spot at the far end of the building, but not close to my room. 
The bed was OK, but hard and the pillows were half flat. I had to pile them up on top of each other to get a comfortable place to lay my head. I also noted the bed was short sheeted: the bed sheets barely tucked in.
The wi-fi was a joke: everytime I logged in, I would get kicked off two minutes later or it would take a long time to download my mail. I asked the desk and was told that happens a lot when they are busy. 
Then there is the swimming pool they advertise in their listing: it was not only closed, but filthy and trash filled as if it hadn't been used in several years (so why advertise it?).
The door to my room had it's own problems: I had to slam it hard to get it to close. Inside, I had to pull hard to open it. Outside, I had to kick it to get it open. 
Overall, it was disappointing. If you're not concerned about sleeping in a sub-par motel, you might enjoy it here if you ignore the people cruising the parking lot at 1am.

Where Do I  Park?

One would only stay at the Plaza Inn if there was not another alternative nearby. In my case, Motel 6 was sold out and the Plaza accepted pets. The room provided the essentials in that the room was clean enough, the beds comfortable and the sink, shower and toilet functioned properly. The property is not cheap for what is provided and not exceptionally nice. That said, I really needed to get some sleep, so I was glad it was there. If you need to stay there, you can rest assured you'll be able to get some rest, not encounter bedbugs and have your pet with you if you require that.

Not a First, 2nd or 3rd Choice......

I stayed here in June as I was traveling across country to pick up my brother and bring him to the East coast. At first it seemed like a nice hotel. It is an older hotel, but not overly priced. The carpet was old and worn, bathroo s needed some work and the furniture in the rooms needed updating, but they appeared to be going through renovations. It near the interstate and around lots of places to eat and the staff was very nice during check in/out. Normally, I would give such a hotel an above average rating, but it is not meant to be. After I got home is the reason that I rate the hotel so low. I found out that I got bed bugs from the hotel. Something that wouod make me rank any hotel so low. The worst part is the staff denies it came from there, must have been another hotel they say (it is the only hotel I stayed in). And the manager has refused to call me back and is never in when I call. Avoid this hotel until the bed bug problem is taken care of.
