My husband and myself had to go on a road trip.  This hotel is the only MOTEL in St johns AZ.  We didn’t realize just how screwed we really were until we got into room 128.  Pull back the top sheet to find hair and down toward the foot area sand!  After getting a clean set from the office ( attendant was very apologetic and kind ) we stripped bed and remade it.  Thank God we had our own blankets/pillows.  The toilet seat was visibly dirty.  The corners of the bathroom had hair and gunk in every corner.  The carpet was full of sand.  Old is fine, dirty is not!  If you need to stay … take your own everything and use the inn to stay dry and safe.  No one bothered us or our car.  We didn’t feel worried for our safety.   Price is very acceptable.  The fridge and microwave was working and clean.

Very dirty! The sheets had not been changed!

Yikes. We had a room reserved for us and is was pleasing as we walked in and that is where our pleasant experience ended.
The bathroom was filthy. The shower and tub were badly stained with a big hair ball near the drain.  It was one of the remolded rooms that was supposedly just finished.
There were just a few rooms clean and ready for guest and we figured this was one of the better ones.                                                                                                     I ran up to Dollar General and grabbed some cleaning items along with gloves and scrubber.                                                                                                            I got back to the hotel and set about to clean that bathroom so I feel somewhat secure I would come out dirtier than when I went in to wash or shower. The tub came cleaner with a bit of scrubbing and elbow grease. The out side of tub cleaned up nice. It was an old tub. The stain caulking was less gross after a little bleaching. Then onto the sink, around the toilet, the light switch was nasty and shined after I was through. The Kleenex holder was dusty and smudged and there were dirt smears on the back of the door.            

About the time the last filth was removed from the bathroom and I could feel pleased with my endeavors  my cousin arrived with her husband to occupy another room.  Once they made it to their room, my cousin shortly returned to clean their room.                                                                                                                                    It is the only hotel in town besides renting an Air B and B and an apt for a night.  No way to keep from tracking dust and dirt into the laminate covered floor so that you feel it, hear the dirt crunch as you walk across the floor.  We asked to have the floor swept while out of the room and she wouldn't unless EVERYTHING was off the floor such as the ice chest in the corner along with a suitcase .
Beds were what you would expect to find in this type of hotel and sleep was hard to achieve and maintain. We couldn't get sound on our TV and cousin couldn't get some of the channels on hers.  
This wasn't a pleasant stay and we pray we won't need to use this hotel again.

YIKES

Very clean and quiet.  Just off the highway 191 and close to Lyman Lake. They were very understanding as I had to stay more nights then originally planned. I would stay here again to be close to my family and the sites.

Booked online that day & arrived about 845pm. Front door was locked & had to ring the bell for 15 mins before anyone opened. Clerk was asleep & mad I woke him. Gave me the keys & the Room was DIRTY! The bed was a mess with sheets that were clearly slept in, dirty bath towels and cloths (some on floor, some on sink, some on rack), and beer cans everywhere! I "slept" on two chairs pushed together with a backpack as a pillow. The heat/air conditioner didn't work, so i froze all night. And the phone number (623.208.8967) is a cell phone number with no voicemail set up. Couldn't even complain to anyone. Its the only lodging in the area for miles so i guess they figure they can treat anyone any kind of way. DO NOT GO THERE! You're better off sleeping in your car!

Only Lodging in that City- Nasty, just Nasty!

We spend three weeks on the road driving the southern states of the US and one night we ended up in Saint Johns. The only motel in town is Welcome Inn & Suites (seems there was also a Budget Inn earlier, but this was closed long time ago) and we checked in because we were tired from driving the entire day.
This place turned out to be the worst place on our trip, i can’t even tell how bad it was. We’re used to many places and really don’t expect much while driving rural America. BUT: There is a difference between old and dirty. Old is ok when clean but this motel is old and dirty, not sure when the room saw a vacuum cleaner last time. We had some crumbles in the bed, the towels thin you could read a newspaper through them. Really don’t want to get into mor details here. I strongly recommend keep on driving to the next city and not use this motel.

Place of dirt and unfriendliness

Don't go here, it is a filthy place, dirty, dilapidated the worse I have ever been in. The room was dirty, Filthy and the worse and that I have ever been to. Do not go here it is filthy! The bathroom was filthy, the bed had blood stains, and so did the pillows. The bathroom was absolutely filthy! The floor was filthy and dusty, everything was dirty. The room was reserved for 4 nights and we ended leaving the next day because we could not stay another night there. We didn't even slept on the bed and we sat all night until the morning when we left. Do not walk but run out of this place. When we got there the room was freezing because they didn't have the presence to turn the heater on. The place was filthy, ring around the tub, hair on the floor, roach droppings on the corner of the bathroom floor. Stay away!

A filthy, dirty and dilapidated room!

Inn and Suites is in a very small town in St Johns, Arizona. It was the most decent looking motel in town. We had no choice to stay but there. I was pleasantly surprised! It was clean and nice. The bathroom was remodeled although the toilet was very noisy when we flushed it. The king size bed was very comfortable but the pillows sucked! Very bad pillows. TV Was OK. Not a big channel selection was minimal. I feel it was over priced for the kind of place it was. They charged us $73.00.  

Pleasantly Surprised

It was dark when we pulled in to this hotel. Looong day of traveling. Desperate to find a room.

We came across the Welcome Inn & Suites and stopped to see if they had a room. 

This is another "classic American" hotel. You have the choice of main floor or 2nd floor, as well as bungalow style end units with no one above you.

We got one of the bungalow style end end units.

Place is nicely lighted at night. Benches and an ashtray strategically line the outside.

There is ice, laundry facility and a candy vending machine.

The room had a King bed. Very soft and comfy. Clean. Ample lighting. Iron and ironing board. Microwave. Coffee maker. Fridge. WiFi. TV with HBO. Clean Remote. Hair dryer. AC. Lots of wide parking. Table with 2 chairs. Area to hang clothes. Mirror in bed area. Heavy curtains to block light. Newer tub and shower enclosure. The tub faucet is a pull out, not a turn on faucet. It had me stumped for a minute until I tried pulling it out. The handle on it fools you. Tub long enough for a 6+ foot person to relax and soak. It's just as deep as you may be used to.

We paid $52 plus tax. Not saying this is what you will pay. Just saying the room was economical.

I would give this room 5 stars but the WiFi didn't work and the tv didn't either.

You may not get cell reception in this area. So just keep that in mind.

Despite the WiFi and TV issue this hotel was a great stay! Very quiet.

Believe check out was at 11am.

No pool here either.

There is a gas station a couple blocks from the hotel, Whiting's, if my memory serves me right. It was open 24 hours.

There is a nice home cooked meal restaurant called, TLC Kitchen. They are in their "winter" hours now, closing at 7pm. This is a small town so if you pull in late at night and you're hungry, you most likely won't find an open restaurant.

A few blocks from TLC Kitchen is a Dollar General if you're in need of toiletries and the like.

Drink lots of water! It gets hot here.

Comfy Classic American Hotel in the Southwest!

Hey, if you are stuck in St Johns Arizona your options are extremely limited.  Our room (#103) was across from the check in area and was simple, and most importantly given all of the other reviews, it was clean.  We stayed there as the other option looked pretty spooky and we had passed through Show Low and skipped Springerville on our way to Gallup only to find that we were just too tired to try and make Gallup.  Would I stay there again, probably would stop in Spingerville or Show Low.
