Awesome stay.  Accommodations were clean and had a well equipped kitchen. Bed was comfortable. All of the staff were very helpful and courteous. 
Outside common areas had great  seating and  beautiful plants. 


Carlton House 12/28 to 1/2/24

This motel is not directly on the beach, but close enough to walk. The owners are very nice. We were able to check in early. The room was very clean, a bit outdated, but clean. The bed was comfortable. The cost was great compared to the outrageous prices other place are charging. We will be back!

Neat and clean!

This is my second stay here in the cottages. Another amazing stay! Clean, quiet, charming. Walking distance to Upham beach which was very convenient!. Betty is great- very kind. People are always friendly here and it provides the peace and quiet we were looking for, yet being a short distance from everything else. Food is just up the street in several directions and it feels safe overnight. Comfortable beds and linens. Provider shampoo, conditioner and soap. Towels replenished daily. Clean fridge and freezer. Love it here!

Friendly and safe stay

We booked this hotel for a couple nights only.  We arrived at about 630 and just caught the owner who checked us in.  The staff was pleasant and check in was quick.

The room was a 1BR condo with a separate bedroom and bathroom through the bedroom.  Everything seemed clean.  

The bedroom was a little small with 2 double beds pushed up against each wall. It was a bit clumsy getting into the far side of the bed.  I wished I had a single queen bed instead. There was a TV in the bedroom.  There was plenty of storage in the room for clothes and such

The living area had a couch and recliner and medium sized TV.  Both the living room and the bedroom had window AC units.  They both seemed to work just fine. 

The living area had a small kitchen area and dining table.  The kitchen had pots and pans and coffee maker, microwave, and stuff, but we didn’t cook much.  

The bathroom was medium small, but clean and functional.  Lighting was fine.

There were a few outlets for charging phones, but we could have used a couple more.

The grounds were nice.  The pool wasn’t huge, but it was clean.  pool towels were provided.  

The beach was a 5 minute walk away.   So was the waffle house and the main road.  The hotel was very convenient.  

We were given a parking pass for one vehicle.  

The hotel had wifi, Mostly strong signal, but we only got 2 bars some of the time at the end unit.

Overall the stay was just fine.  It was clean, convenient, and quiet.

pleasant property near St. Pete Beach.

Great location.  Easy walking distance to beach and bars/restaurants.  Very well managed.  Rooms and facilities well maintained.  Good selection of rooms.  Heated pool.  Would easily book another stay next year without hesitation. 

Well managed property in great location.

We booked at the Carlton House after having major difficulties with AirBnB. AirBnB had randomly cancelled our reservation that we had for 3 months, during the week of our arrival with NO reason. Trying to get in touch with someone that can help in customer service at that company is literally impossible so in turn, we were panicking about a place to stay! Luckily, a quick google search came back with the Carlton having a vacancy and after reading all of the rave reviews, we decided to call to make a reservation. Betty, the owner, was so helpful and we booked the last room that they had. It was one of the cute little independent standing cottages and was perfect for 2 of us! Spacious, very clean and we liked that there were beach chairs to borrow! We really enjoyed our stay here and cannot wait to come back! It was relaxing and quiet, the pool was perfect, and the location is great as it is close to the beach and so many restaurants! Things have a way of happening for a reason and the disaster with AirBnB led us here and we will never turn back! ((Also, BEWARE when booking with AirBnb as they are NOT a good company to work with!!!))

Everything happens for a reason!

We have been staying here for many years.  Still the same great friendly place. Beach is nearby and shopping and restaurants or bring your own food and cook.  We always stay in main building with stove, microwave and fridge.

Another year

Great value and location just steps from St Pete's beach. Family owned and operated over 20 yrs, the repeat customers keep returning for good reason. 
13 units in a two story motel setting and 6 units cottage style. Each unit has mini kitchenette with fridge, limited stovetop, microwave and all cooking supplies. Property is clean, well maintained and safe. Free parking out front, very convenient. Walking distance to several eateries for all meal types. Can't say enough about the value and location, will definitely return.

Excellent

The Carlton House is in fact a holiday village with palm trees, a small swimming pool, relaxing shadow places. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. My apartment was spacious with a well-equipped kitchenette including all necessary pans, pots, plates etc. 
My friends stayed in the hotel of a BIG name about a mile ago. When they visited my appartment and saw its furnishings, they stated that for a third of the price I had three times more comfort than they did.
The white sand beach is about 300 meters, but you can drive there if it would be to far for you. On the other side of the 71st street about 200 m from Carlton House you´ll find an excellent seafood restaurant "Shells". Great place to eat!

Extremely good choice

Very nice quaint motel at a great price. Very friendly guest. Lovely warm pool. Not on the beach. But 2 blocks away. The owners are very nice and there is maid service every day. And there housekeeping lady is on top of things and services are very fast.
