The owner was awkward. We saw only the woman during our stay. Let's be honest. It is a b&b in a hoarder house. Way too many objects everywhere. It felt claustrophobic to be in every room. It can't be cleaned well because of the hoard. The garden was our favorite place even if it was still fully packed with chairs, plants and sculptures.  If you want a weird, unique, unreal experience go. Don't go if you wish a cozy, relax, unstressful, romantic, cute and clean time

Cluttered-weird vibe

Only positive is that they're dog friendly. The room was unkempt and small. The bed was beyond uncomfortable, old, small and painful. We were disappointed as we've stayed here in years past and it was okay. Sadly, it's gone downhill. 

Uncomfortable Lodging

Adorable eclectic Inn. Very homey. Everything we need. You can hear the ocean even though it's about 2 blocks away. Located right across the street from the fire department. The owners have been here for 30 years! And although they no longer serve breakfast they are very hospitable and offer tea and fruit. It's kind of like staying at your bohemian aunt and uncle's house. Lots of cool stuff to look at! Beautiful garden. We would happily return! 

Eclectic Inn. Reminiscent of various eras gone by tied in with a continuous nautical theme. 

More like staying in your crazy hoarder great-aunt’s back bedroom than a B&B.  Nothing has changed since the 70’s.  That said, the bed was comfy, and we got a pretty good nights sleep. Unfortunately we were woken multiple times by mice (or something!) trying to get into our trail mix in the room - never experienced that before!

Quirky for sure

I requested a reservation. Got an email to call back. I did. Owner was away, person at the desk was supposed to leave them a message. No return call or follow up. Rechecking to verify the room, “we don’t have any record of you”. Be sure you follow up as much as needed to ensure your reservation. May be a nice place, I will never know :-(

While it’s a great location and the staff was friendly … . The reasons I am very dissatisfied are: 
1. The room smelled real BAD! Disgusting really -Mold, 5 kinds of toxic cleaners and detergent, etc. 
2. You had many building code violations such as: fire code violations, unsafe plywood stacked in a main walkway, sketchy electrical work in rooms, many trip hazards in the outdoor spaces, and inadequate clearance spaces in the room/doorways
 3. The décor was so old and ugly that I couldn’t tell if it was clean or not… 
4. the walls are paper thin and could hear the guy snoring next door like he was in the same room

My fiancé and I really lucked out last night to find this special and quirky bed & breakfast in Stinson. After finding ourselves stranded late night with no car and no way home to SF, we were welcomed in by Alfonse  and his wife Margaret for a very reasonable last minute price. There are so many unfair negative reviews about this B&B.  It’s such a cool and interesting spot in the perfect location. Our room in the back through the patio was clean, cute, comfortable and we had a private bathroom.  We were so excited to stay up late watching movies in our room (such a great selection of DVDs and VHS). Breakfast was plentiful and tasty (eggs, fried potatoes, awesome sausages). The conversation with Alfonse and the other guests was fun and so full of local history and wild tales. Then, Alfonse drove us back over the mountain after breakfast.  We will definitely be back here again and probably share the experience with friends.

Can’t wait to come back here!

The owner, Alfonse, and his wife both quoted me $160 for a night when making the reservation.  They took my credit card information over the phone, and said they would send an email confirmation that I never received.  When I called back to confirm our reservation, Alfonse said they made a mistake and gave our room to someone else, and that they now only had one other room available at $180 per night.  I asked if he would honor the $160 rate that was previously agreed upon, and he immediately became aggressive and rude, and said he wouldn't honor the $160 rate and if I didn't like it, I can cancel.  He also stated he didn't care if I gave him a negative review, so that's exactly why I'm writing this now.  I can't in good conscience give someone like Alfonse my business.  Take your business elsewhere.  We ended up staying at the Sandpiper Lodge instead and the manager, Amber, is very nice and accommodating.  Alfonse seems very out of touch with his customers and needs to either get some customer service training or get out of the hospitality business altogether.

Unprofessional and rude owner

I wish I could give them a negative star.  I had a vacation planned for July and had booked a room at this establishment.  When my daughter OD'd on the 5th of July, I reached out to the various places I had reservations with and explained my situation.  Everyone was so nice and refunded a portion of my money.  This establishment not only refused to refund my money but sent me emails that were totally unprofessional.  Below is one of the emails I received: 

I am innkeeper, a hired hand!  Do not handle finances, that is owner
responsibility, Angelika..The space, is reserved for you, a client of
booking.com.  You indicated, you were not coming, then coming, no
matter what, the status does not change.. You also said you have a
proxy?  Have them send copy of Drivers License as attachment, state
who, what, how many, no pet, 3rd person requires room upgrade, Rose
Room, $175. x4+14% Tax minus $614.?, what you paid?  Hope I got that
right, shooting from the hip!  Notes not in front of me..I am making
beds, washing clothes, picking up dishes..Whats with the skull? No
crossbones?  What is this some kind of joke?  Not funny!  Tell the
child, you will support any decision she makes on her own, that you
love her.  Unconditional love! That is what a person suffering with
suicidal ideation needs to want to live..not a Skull!  She needs to
get far, far, away from suffering: a 1/2 way house; support center for
suicidal children; religious retreat; if she speaks Russian, a trip to
the Motherland, w/o YOU!

Very Unprofessional Individuals

Crows Nest. Interesting place to stay, lost of things to look at, sweet couple running the place! Breakfast was hot and tasty! Super close the the beach and restaurants. Definitely want to come back and stay in the Rose Rom!
