This condo unit has been beautifully updated with a  completly new kitchen and two new baths; new cabinets, granite counters, stainless appliances, new lighting, new flooring. Ground floor level so easy access to the backyard and cross-country/snowshoeing trails.  You can walk to the mountain or take the shuttle, which runs regularly. The owners were very accommodating and we will definitely return again next season. Thanks!

First class condo unit #25

We are here in Stratton now with two grown children.  The condo (14) is comfortable and well equipped.  The bed is a king with lots of pillows and nice bedding.  The bathrooms and kitchens could use some updating. My husband made the reservations so I’m not sure if he was aware that we would be in the first floor.  We hear every footstep, voices and every toilet flush from upstairs.  I don’t know if the occupants know this as they let their child run back and forth and back and forth. We are up when they are up.  Would only be back on an upper floor.

Nice condo but we hear everything happening upstairs!

We just came back from the 3 day MLK weekend spent at Stratton.  We arrived just before midnight Friday night at the Stratton welcome center (after having driven in the worst rain storm/foggy conditions ever experienced - VT put more reflectors on your roads if there aren't any street lights).  Thankfully the welcome center stays open until midnight on Friday nights, otherwise you go to one of the lodges to collect your keys but I assume they can't print out any ski passes etc.  The desk clerk showed us a map where to go and we were off (beware the signage is very basic on the mountain roads).  

The condo I assume is independently owned and appears to have almost no personal touches (perhaps by design).  The entryway floor is stone and has a bench which is great for removing your boots and putting your jackets on the adjacent hooks.  Our unit (55 Vantage Point) had 2 bedrooms (one bed had a queen or king and the other had a queen and a bunk bed), 2 baths.  The heat was barely adequate (our heating units couldn't get the rooms past 65 degrees, it was 0 outside but perhaps  the units need to be upgraded).  The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc.  There is a fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker, kettle, and washing machine/dryer in the unit.  Overall the condo provides everything you need, some appliances are older than others.  What saved us and kept us warm was the fireplace that we used every night (thankfully there is a limitless supply of wood outside by the parking lot just steps away from the front door).  The shuttle bus to the mountain comes every half hour, I think 7:27/7:57/8:27/8:57... was the schedule.  It's a red school bus with the green sign on the side, it departs the mountain on the 20's stopping at 4:40pm.  You will see buses taking people to the parking lots running continuously with LOT 1 or LOT 2 signs on them at the mountain, just look for the red bus with the green sign on it.  The yellow ones are the Sun Bowl area.  Our unit didn't have Wi-Fi, there were Wi-Fi signals so some others must provide it.  Ours seemed like more of an income property perhaps.  We would have loved a pool or hot tub but even the main lodge directs you to the sports facility down  the road from us for a pool.  It is not walking distance in your bathing suit in the winter.  

All in all we thought the property was adequate but the heating needs work to withstand the cold winter temperatures.  It was close enough to the mountain and was spacious enough for our needs.  In comparison to the cost of staying at the lodge it was a deal, but needless to say it is not a cheap nightly rate on a holiday weekend.

Decent property close to Stratton Mountain

We stayed at Vantage pooint#41 and booked this online and through Vacasa.com.

Very much like a BnB property, where checking in in self serve, same goes with checking and leaving the property.

The unit is as what you can see on the pics on the online booking sites. It is also very close to the main Stratton resort. We had a bit of an issue looking for it as it was night time already but we were able to find it anyway.

The rooms are clean, everything works from TV to fireplace to the heaters. While we're only 2, we appreciated that there's so much space, there's parking too for the car we rented from NYC.

We'd love to be back and maybe next time go to the market and cook our own food, enjoy the patio and the snow of just lounge  around the fireplace.

PS. Wifi isn't very fast, but then again, why would you need it? 😊

Hesitant on staying here after reading the reviews. Our experience was very good! Condo was the right size for 2 couples and 2 children. Clean, roomy, kitchen with all utensils, working fireplace with plenty of wood. Nice balcony to get a bit of fresh air. The best part was the closeness to the mountain  -- little bit of a walk, but there was a shuttle that when called was at the condo in 5 minutes or less. This was our first time at stratton, I would definetly return!!!

12/2016 - Stratton Mountain - Vantage point

The Stratton Mountain resort area is beautiful.  We visited off-season so I can't speak to how it is when more crowded.  However, the condo we rented had several problems in the main bathroom including mold and mineral buildup plus a non-working steam shower; these couldn't be addressed during our weekend stay.  The rest of the place was acceptable and the management staff was polite. We will try again at some point in the future but will choose a different rental unit.

I wish I would've read the reviews on here prior to booking at this property because all of them (especially Scott O) are dead on for what we dealt with here.  The maintenance has not been kept up on with the unit we were in.  Upon entering we found a plastic folding chair on our bed along with a VCR.  Apparently they had recently shampooed the floors but unfortunately they forgot to put everything back on the floor.  One of the bedroom doors wouldn't lock and the door handle was hanging on the door.  The sliding door in the bathroom was a hazard and almost fell out when it was sliding.  

Luckily after spending one night here we called the front desk to complain and they immediately upgraded us to Crown Point and a very nice condo.  They even brought us over the keys to the new condo so we didn't have to drive to the front desk to get them.  So luckily the service and staff here were excellent, but the room not so much.  Stay away
