I really wanted to be able to rave about this place. It’s adorable, and I always love the convenience of an old-fashioned traditional motel where you can pull right up to the door to unload your stuff. It’s also convenient for taking the dog out for a walk. The price was great and the dog fee was fair. I appreciated the refrigerator with a real freezer. They have obviously worked to do some updates, and the bathroom is fairly modern, although with some quirks. (The mirror over the sink is very high, and some people would not see themselves in it. Also, there’s no place in the bathroom to set your stuff.) The furniture is old, but very serviceable, and I would not deduct any “points“ for that. I am impressed with how well lit the room is. What prevents me from highly recommending this place is that the room smelled very musty at first, and on the third day it’s better, but still musty smelling. The other issue is that the mattress creaks and it’s not very comfortable. It’s not terrible, but a comfortable bed is the most important motel feature for me. Additionally, this motel seems to attract many people who smoke. While the rooms are nonsmoking, when your neighbors are smoking outside their rooms, some of it does filter in. That also leads to cigarette butts scattered all around the grounds. Taking all that into consideration, while I might consider staying here again, I would hesitate to recommend this to many of my friends. I hope the owners can continue to work on sprucing this place up, because it really is a gem.

So much to like, but with some caveats.

I rarely write reviews anymore. But this place deserves a good review. We probably wouldn’t had stayed because we’re not huge motel people…but someone recommended them in town. But the price was fantastic, and customer service was perfect. The housekeeper did a great job…  (probably under priced..but we are from Colorado) +A and best of all the room had a small kitchenette. We slept like babies (best rest of our night). Mild traffic noises but nothing worth complaining about. Plus there’s an excellent spot outback to let our dogs out.

Worth righting a review

Beds comfortable, very clean, cable tv, nice little kitchenette with hot plate, fridge, microwave, dishes and silverware. On entering had a strong smell of cleaning solution. Air conditioner had a slight odor and when I turned the heat on the odor was very strong but since we didn’t need heat it didn’t matter. Two issues; very small space and security issue: windows facing the commons wouldn’t lock. If you want a place to crash it’s ok.

First impression might be wrong

Super cool, modernized retro motel…spic n span clean!! Very friendly host. Would come back over and over…price is spot on…if not too low for the great stay!  Kitchenette is stocked so you can easily cook a meal, fridge is COLD. Bathroom is spotless! Bed is VERY comfortable. My husband threw out his back before we started our trip from Montana. He slept great, woke up refreshed and ready for a day of travel.

Had a very nice stay at this motel. It was quiet and well taken care of. Beds were not the greatest for comfort but they were okay. It is on the Highway but you didn't hear the noise of track what so ever. Would certainly stay here again.

A nice place to stay

I chose this place because of its close proximity  to The Fiddlers Farm, where I was attending an event.  It's  low weekday rate caught my eye. I had minimal  expectations  because of the low price. Especially  with the Fall tourist season pending.  On arrival I found a tidy office with friendly  staff and all Covid 19 precautions  being followed.  I quickly checked in and found my really nice room,  complete with furnished kitchenette. I booked a second night because it was so nice there. I had to change rooms and the one with 2 beds was quite crowded, but I would still highly recommend.

Pleasant surprise

Our family of four stayed here one night in early August. This place is retro and adorable. The check in was a breeze and I was treated with kindness. When we entered our room, we were all very pleased. The room had a kitchenette, plenty of room and was as adorable as the outside of the motel. Our room was clean and we enjoyed our stay very much.

My husband and I stayed here on our anniversary weekend trip. Motel 57 was recommended to us by a friend.  We loved the cute retro/modern motel style room. The room was clean, cute, comfortable, and convenient for daily adventures around Door County. The price was very reasonable compared to hotels in the area. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay at Motel 57 on our next trip to Door County. 

Great place to stay

  Quite charming and peaceful. Clean.  Accommodated our doggie well. I loved the outside space. There are two outdoor chairs for each room so you have the option to sit outside as well.  The kitchenette is a nice extra.

Pleasant vintage motel.

Great service with the reservation staff.  Spotless clean room.  Ok double bed-no, not even a queen.  (only 2 pillows for double bed).  Nice falirly new stand up shower with seat-but shower floor VERY slippery-needs a mat for safety.  Or at least a grab bar when you enter/exit the shower.  Nice towels. Pedestal sink-no counter space for personal items.  Cute vintage kitchenette with sink, fridge, microwave, and even dishes in the cupboard with kitchen towels!  Furniture legs of the big dresser and desk looked like they had been chewed by a dog-seat cushion fabric on the only chair was ripped.  Needs replacing.  No recliner.  Probably would not stay there again-not worth the price.
