The cabins had everything we needed. Staff was very helpful and made the checking in process very easy. We visited during winter and it was beautiful. Mt. Bachelor is not far away so we took the kids sledding. I would  love to visit this summer. I'm from Texas but I think I just found my new vacation spot. 

Great Cabin and Great Staff

Bend-Sunriver thousand trails is a great spot to camp. Tall pine trees, spacious sites, friendly staff, great location.  Amenities include horseshoes, putt-putt, dog park, tennis courts, swimming pool, hot tub, laundry room, country store on-site and beautiful lodge for activities. Only draw back is there are no FHU in this campground, but there is a dump station. 

Great camping spot in Central Oregon

We stayed in cottage #1 at Bend-Sunriver RV Campground Bend, OR.  The hot water had a sewer smell to the water. When you filled a glass with hot water it so brownish looking you could not see thru the glass of water. I called the office and never got an answer. So I went to the main gate and called maintenance about the issue with the water. A maintenance person showed up to the cabin and agreed the water had a bad smell to it and recommended we just run the water for a few minutes to see if it would clear up. So, we ran the water for about 15 minutes and made no change to it. Your maintenance person said that they would call their water guy if it didn't clear up after running the water for a while. I informed the maintenance person that the water did not clear up. we never heard anything else after that. We have stayed at numerous Thousand Trails cabin/cottage sites and this was by far the worse one we have stayed at. There were never any front office staff available, when you call on the phone you get any answer. This is one Thousand Trails site that I will not recommend to anyone.

Bend-Sunriver RV Campground Bend, OR site issues

The sites are powered, with water, you do have to go to a dump site for your septic though. Not a problem for a couple nights, would be if you stay for a week and have to break down and dump in the middle......The sites are very spacious and do not have you looking right into your neighbors window......They have mini golf which is ok new greens needed....They have several horse shoe pits that are in good condition....They have a very nice pickle ball courts.....A decent disc golf course......Two pools which I have not tried yet....Deer and elk visit plus rabbits running around.....Could use a dog run....

Nice older established campground

The good: Beautiful property with easy trails for biking and walking.  Friendly staff, large sites, very good 5G Ultra on TMobile across many parts of the site.  Very well stocked store that sells firewood and other essentials. Sites don't have sewer but that's been covered before and for us the large sites are an acceptable tradeoff.  50 amp service upgrades are underway across much of the park.
The bad: Visited in June and September and pool was closed.  Sign went from 'under construction' to 'closed for the season'.  The 'Year Round Store' closed for the winter in October. Probably took some jobs with it.  The store was one of the reasons we chose to commit to thousand trails sun river. The location is fairly isolated and tends to be cooler and wetter than Bend so traveling out on the roads can be treacherous.  Store closure took away easy access to firewood and minigolf supplies. Another disappointment came when we moved into a site for a week and were given just 2-days notice that we would have to move to B/C/D loop due to seasonal closures. Fortunately, I was home. I travel for work and my SO is not currently qualified to move the rig. The rationale for closure made sense as the B/C sections all have heat-taped spigots. There are a few kid playgrounds. The swing set by the lodge is nice, but the jungle gym needs some maintenance as some segments are loose.  Given the family load this place sees in summer, a modern jungle gym would be justified. My kids are generally disappointed with the playgrounds (they like TT Chehalis, however). Bathrooms are generally clean, TT can't help what other campers do during the day.  When they collapsed the park down to B/C/D, the number of bathrooms was substantially reduced. The C/D loop bathroom has extremely slow plumbing which is a bummer when you consider the individual sites do not have sewer hookups. Based on my three visits here the reserve is severely understaffed and could benefit from some reinvestment from TT.  Hope this is not a sign of the future as we bought into a membership.  


Great location that offers few amenities over shoulder seasons.

This is an old RV park that's in definite need of maintenance and upkeep -- especially men's and women's rest rooms.  Both were dirty and had broken toilets and showers.  One positive... it's a nice location and the park is open during the winter.

Disappointing

We love the ease of membership reservations.  Even though there are many times that we are not able to get the spot we want, we are flexible and can always find a nice spot.  Since our daughter and son in law also have a membership, it is a great way to meet up for fun with them and the grandkids.

Never a problem at a 1000 Trails property

Even though it snowed alot and I basically stayed in the cabin  it was a very relaxed week plus 2 extra days.  Pleasant helpful staff and great views even from the cabin.  Definitely will consider coming back again!

Excellent cozy cabin

The staff was amazing!  The sites are large, but it would have been nice to have a sewer hook up.  We saw a number of people with portable poop boxes, but we dumped at the sump station when we left as we were only there two nights.  Our toddler loved the bunnies too.

Great Setting & Great Staff

its been over 2 years since the pool  or hot tub worked. 80 degree temps, no relief, also very dusty, no one pays attention to speed limits. will have to wash auto and motorhome after leaving.  I still feal its a great value.
