The Talkeetna Wilderness Lodges were the perfect stop for our last minute trip to Alaska. We landed in Anchorage, but decided we needed to get out of the city and found these cabins. Not a single regret and will absolutely stay again the next time we travel to Alaska. We went in the end of January, but the cabin was cozy and warm. It was spotless. Our hosts, Angie and Tommy were amazing and welcoming from day 1. They invited us into their home, made us s’mores by the fire and accompanied us to the brewery for dinner. We can for a visit and left with new friends. Loved being able to walk out the back door of our cabins and into the woods to explore. The cabins was stocked with everything we could need or use. It was the perfect getaway. You won’t regret the decision to stay!

The best cabins in Talkeetna!

We stayed in the Family Cabin with our 3 children, place is amazing ! The owners and staff are the best, location, activities, and peaceful surroundings.
You are a quick drive into town, but far enough away to have peace and quiet.
The owners designed the cabins, the lodge, trails, and outdoor spaces with fun in mind. We highly recommend staying here, and will be back ourselves !!!

Best Cabins, Best Location, Best Staff 

Our cabin was perfect for the three of us traveling together.  Plenty of room if you want to cook and/or hang out at home. The back patio is screened in (no bugs) and is a peaceful retreat.  We enjoyed meeting the owner and his family and sitting by the bonfire roasting marshmallows together.  The location is a bit outside of town (10-15 mins), but it's an easy drive.  Everything was great, clean and spacious!

Great stay!

We rented 3 cabins for a one night stay to accommodate our extended family including young children and grandparents on our road trip from Anchorage to Denali National Park. Todd and his partner Ana provided an amazing experience. The cabins were extremely clean, tastefully decorated the bed mattresses and linens were very comfortable. We were glad to be able to pick up groceries and cook dinner and breakfast in the well stocked kitchen and they were even kind enough to set up an indoor fire for us due to the rain just for our toddler to roast marshmallows! We really enjoyed the short guided hike to see the salmon swimming upstream which was a really memorable experience. We also loved getting food at the Flying Squirrel bakery/cafe about 10 mins away that they recommended to us. We would stay here again without any hesitation on a future trip.

Incredible cabin in the woods experience for the family

These cabins are located at a convenient location between Anchorage and Denali National Park (2-2.5hrs derive from either place). They are cozy and furnished/equipped well and the hosts make sure you have the basic amenities to make your stay comfortable. They are very welcoming and make you feel at home. We were too tired to participate but light up the fire pit in the evenings (weather permitting) for the guests to enjoy. They also have a play area for little kids and an outdoor grill if you choose to cook.
Few restaurants near by are just a few minutes away. Less than 9 mi drive is the Main Street- full of tiny shops for souvenirs and some restaurants/dessert places that are a must try. Overall had a WONDERFUL, MEMORABLE experience.

Had a WONDERFUL, MEMORABLE experience.

One word to describe our experience - OUTSTANDING! The cabins were immaculately clean, well appointed and very comfortable. They had everything we needed for a comfortable stay in Talkeetna. We wished we were staying longer - just passing through - as there's a lot to do in the area and the property here is a great place to kick back and relax. The owners could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. It as a wonderful stay and a great value. Were we to stay longer, we would have spent more time toasting s'mores at the fire pit.

Hidden gem in Talkeetna

These cabins are the best!  You get to experience the wilderness without giving up any necessary (for me) comforts.  First of all, our cabin was spotlessly clean with very nice shower and cozy, big bath towels.  The beds are comfy and each cabin has a little kitchen.  Plus, guests can gather in the main lodge to hang out in front of the fireplace or cook meals in the fully equipped full service kitchen.  Our favorite amenity, though, was the lovely screen porch -- because Alaska IS the land of mosquitoes.  If you are going to Talkeetna, you can't go wrong staying here.

My kind of wilderness experience!

We had one of the newer cabins, but the older ones looked great too.  The location is great if you like out of the way places to stay.  They are clean and comfortable with a great view of the woods behind you. The kitchen area is seperate from the bedroom and the screened in porch was great for a late night visit with friends.  The hosts are super friendly and offered us a campfire in the evening. Plenty of space here.

I would definately come back here.

Quiet and peaceful and only . 5 miles from the main road. These cabins are a wonderful surprise with screened in porch, king beds, great linens, good shower and galley style kitchen. The larger units have a full kitchen. Parking Is right beside the cabins. Cubby’s grocery is close by for all essentials. Cabins are stocked with tea and coffee and toaster to get you going in the morning. Campfire in the evenings, weather permitting. Barbecues are available for use near the campfire area.  The management is very courteous and responsive to any requests. Highly recommended these units for a comfortable stay

Perfect cabin in the woods!

Excellent in every way. The hostess was very informative and friendly. Plenty of activities and trails around the cabins, but couldn’t make a bonfire those particular nights because of an elevated fire hazard. Cabins were clean and comfortable for a group of 8. Short drive to Talkeetna. Highly recommend.
